I'm developing a multimedia player and I want to create an equalizer in it , but I can't find any information about how to do it. I think I read some time ago it could be implemented in Android... am I wrong?

Try to find some methods in MediaPlayer class. But all my attempts failed.
Does one exist for Droid X? Yes I did search first but could only find a reference to one for the phone itself...not built into the app.

I do not care about streaming or leeching from youtube and other junk.. just playlists, play files and a eq.... if it can play flac, monkey and other music files besides mp3 that would be double awesome... but eq is the top priority.

Does anyone know of a way to adjust the eq on music? Either by custom or rock, rap, jazz, etc.
Also, is there anyway to make it so that music will cut off if headphones are unplugged? I have accidentally unplugged my headphones at work and the music starts blasting and I am embarassed.
I just got the brand new Droid 2 Global, trading up (WAY up) from a BlackBerry Tour. The audio settings for my earbuds show "audio effects" that can be enabled, but the only one that works is "effects profile", which is a "sound stage" stereo separation thing. The other two are Surround and Equalizer, but they are grayed out and don't work. The Equalizer is stuck on the Extreme Bass setting. What gives? Why isn't there an actual EQ function on this thing?

I've had this happen on both my old 2003 Mustang with an after market head unit and my new 2011 Nissan Altima. The Nissan has a factory aux plug so I don't think it's an incompatibility between hardware? Basically what happens is, I plug my phone in and start playing music, but the song doesn't take on the properties of the equalizer app. If I go into equalizer and change a frequency, it says "Equalizer has stopped." and then it restarts and THEN my equalizer settings apply to whatever currently plays.
If I go into Google Play and change the song or let the song finish and shuffle to the next play, the equalizer effects stop. My phone is a GSM Galaxy Nexus. I'm running AOKP with Franco kernel and all of the sound mods are disabled.
I just got two multimedia docks on Tuesday (one for home and one for the office. They worked well the first day but the next day, I could not get the weather to work. It seems to find my location OK but didn't put the weather info on the main screen.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI rooted my Nexus 7(Wifi only), v4.2.1, with the Nexus 7 Toolkit v4.0.0. Since then the Equalizer presets from google's music app is gone and I cannot adjust the bass boost or 3D effect.
Update: I just restored back to stock and that solved the problem. May try to root again in future.
