View 5 RepliesSearched through the forums, didn't see a similar topic discussed. Just happened a few days ago, where one of my contacts on my phone from Gmail that was linked to Facebook all of a sudden is unlinked. When I tried to relink to fix it, the contact doesn't appear on the list to link. Going into the Facebook app, the contact is listed there. Anyone run into this or have any idea how to fix? Tried a reset already, after backing up apps/messages.

View 33 Replies View RelatedI've just rooted and Villian 2.1ified my Orange Hero. Now I swear there was an easy way to link contacts to their fb profiles, but now I can only find a way to manually do it one contact at a time. With alot of contacts, this could take somewhere between three to four years.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway to re-establish or manually add the Facebook syncronization option to an existing contact in my Contacts app? I lost the Facebook sync icon in the contact information and this is inconvienent at best, and possibly is the cause of disabling the phone functionality at worse. Subsequent behavior on at least two occassions has shown that attempts to dial out using this particular contact locks up the dialer, causing multiple forces closes, and essentially disables the phone functionally both in and out of the phone for long periods time (10-20 mins) until the application can be correctly cleared and purged from memory.
I was able to successfully sync my Contacts with both my Google contact list and then all my Facebook friends. However some of the contact information was not exactly how I preferred and attempts to update that information using the Google contact list was not always successful. Not entirely sure if this is a bug or by design. I was able to successfully modify one contacts name with Facebook sync from first name first to last name first (to correct sorting to my preference). A second contact wouldn't modify no matter if I updated the name information on Google contact or on the phone itself. Finally I attempted to delete the contact and re-add it. This worked but now I lost its Facebook sync (no Facebook icon to click within the contact information). I'm not sure if this detachment is causing the dialer problems.
After syncing all my Facebook friends with my contacts (for complete-ism), I successfully deleted some Facebook friends from my contact list. But what if I want one back with Facebook sync, is that possible?
I have a question about facebook calendars. I really want to start using the calendar on my phone more often to stay organized (EVO 4g). I also like the idea of having my friends' birthdays auto load into events from facebook. However, I don't want ALL the birthdays of my facebook friends on my cal, if that makes sense.
In other words, I have too many friends. Does anyone know how to manually choose which birthdays you get events for? Or is it simply time to start dumping some excess facebook friendage?
On my Nexus One, when adding contacts in the phone or in Gmail, they would show up on both the phone and Gmail contacts on my PC. With my Incredible, when I add contacts in Gmail, they show up on my phone, but not vice versa. How can I add contacts to my phone so that they will become Gmail contacts?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently got a Droid 2, and have been liking it, till today, when I had to manually enter a contact on the phone. I have the latest OTA upgrade.
I found two problems:
(1) Once the Name field goes beyond a certain length, Contacts just edits one entry. I did not attempt a bunch of edits to figure out where the field length trigger for this occurs. However it occurred with two different contacts I wanted to enter, "Capital Ear Nose & Throat Wake Forest" & "Capital Ear Nose & Throat Raleigh". I could start a new contact, but one would just overwrite the other when I clicked save (including the name).
(2) When you task switch with the home button to the browser with a new contact opened, with information in it, and you then switch back to the Contacts app, your new entry is gone!
I won't compare it to other phones, but I am looking a solution or a confirmation this problem has existed forever, and google doesn't plan to fix it.
I'm having an issue linking my wife to her Facebook profile in the contact "people." When she calls her number comes up. After I hang up, I try to "connect with person already in contacts" and it forces "People" to close. I tried to add her manually and it deleted it before my very eyes while I was within "people." I did it using the Google phonebook and not the phone's. Is there any issue with this, and what's the difference between the Google and Phone options (benefits, etc... ?).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a ton of people in People (google) and 300 people in Facebook. All seem to link just fine. Except one person. She is in People (google) and in Facebook. Same exact name. If I open up People, she is there. If I open up Facebook friends, she is there. When I open up People, find her and try to link to Facebook, she is not there.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've read the constant threads where people say, just find the friend on facebook, hold press their icon and it will do whatever. doesnt work at all, the only thing happens is if i quick press i get the chooser to email them, or view their facebook profile. what im trying to do is manually sync a contact on my phone with a facebook contact. on my friends droid eris he can open up a phone contact, hit edit and actually has a field for him to type my facebook name in and it will sync. there anyway to do this? im tired of only having like 10 peoples profiles actually syncing with my phone contacts and another 100 not synced..

View 5 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if the X10 can do the same as my last android Hero, which basically link the facebook info contact to my related phone contact, including the picture. I guess this wont need any hardware, but software. Has this improvement being asked or is it planned for future updates?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a relatively new EVO 4G, and I've noticed that for some reason trying to chat with a contact using Talk and Quick Contacts doesn't work. When I pop up the Quick Contact for a person who's online, I see a second dialer icon. When I press that, it gives me the option to use various chat methods, including Talk (and Skype). However, when I choose Talk, it asks me to "Complete action using" and gives me a huge list of things, but none of which are Talk.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I open my address book and edit a contact and select facebook to link the contact. It updates and uses the picture from facebook. This is a very neat option, my question is when I link a profile from facebook to a contact does this decrease battery life, or can I change some setting so facebook wont update but maybe once a day?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to somehow link a contact's address to a calendar event? For instance, if I have a meeting at Joe Bob's office, I'd like to be able to type in Joe Bob's name in the event location field on the calendar and have it insert the address for me, instead of having to switch to contacts, find Joe Bob, copy Joe Bob's address, switch back to calendar, and paste the address.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI don't know what exactly happened because I wasn't playing around with settings much. But I had all my contacts/people synced with facebook. The picture would show up but their statuses wouldn't update. And now the picture doesn't show up on a contact, it's not linked with Facebook anymore and when I try to link it says I have no friends..?
First question: Why wouldn't my contact's statuses update?
Second question: How do I link my people/contacts to Facebook again?
New to the forum and Android system. I have my Facebook contacts in people but I have my wife in people on a different name. Can someone tell me how to link the 2 together please?

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo my girlfriend got herself a new HTC Aria a few days ago and the thing won't let her link her contacts to their Facebook profiles. All the contacts are stored on her phone, not the SIM has 2.1 stock. You type in the person's name after tapping the 'link profile' button or whatever it says, and no profiles show up in the search box. I noticed that a similar post in the HTC Hero forum, but no one seemed to have any luck over there. And yes, I've gone into the settings and enabled everything that I know to enable regarding syncing, facebooking, and anything else along on those lines.

View 6 Replies View RelatedSince I updated to 2.1, I am not able to link my contacts to my Facebook friends. I am signed in to Facebook through "Facebook for HTC Sense" (when I click "Add Account" and choose "Facebook," it won't do anything) but when I go to a contact and try to link to a friend, there is no one on the list. I have tried logging out and back in, then restarting the phone, but that hasn't fixed the problem. Also, is anyone else having the keyboard refuse to work when trying to send a text?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo i used BT and sent my contacts from my old phone to my EVO and it worked like a champ. Is there any way to link all my contacts to FB at once vs having to go into each one manually and selecting "Link", then selecting the "suggested FB profile"? I can do it manually, but I'm sure my battery will be dead by the time I'm done.
