New to the forum and Android system. I have my Facebook contacts in people but I have my wife in people on a different name. Can someone tell me how to link the 2 together please?

I want to link all of my facebook contacts so they show up in my gmail contacts? Otherwise, the contact on my phone from Facebook may be, and in many cases is, missing lots of relevant information. For example, many people don't keep their full address, or their phone number, on Facebook. If this is so, then no phone number or address is stored on my phone for the many friends who got in my contact list via the Facebook Motoblur magic. I can update these manually, via the phone screen-keyboard, but I would like to use the much easier-to-access PC to gmail user interface. But alas, I cannot, as all of these Facebook contacts don't show up on the gmail list at all.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI went to add some numbers today and when I go to link to the persons facebook profile, all of the sudden it won't link. It'll say "linked" then I click done (though it lags when I go to click done) and then nothing happens.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't know what exactly happened because I wasn't playing around with settings much. But I had all my contacts/people synced with facebook. The picture would show up but their statuses wouldn't update. And now the picture doesn't show up on a contact, it's not linked with Facebook anymore and when I try to link it says I have no friends..?
First question: Why wouldn't my contact's statuses update?
Second question: How do I link my people/contacts to Facebook again?
I have managed to link most of my contacts to their Facebook accounts, but I just can't seem to get their Facebook Profile Pic on my contact list, I've even touched the little picture, then a window popped up asking where I'd like to choose the picture from: Gallery, Camera, Google, Facebook. Obviously I chose Facebook, but no result.

After Syncing, there DP is up, aswell as email address etc. It also changed the number to
44xxxxxxxxxx
I've found a solution. Go to a contact with the 44xxxxxxxxxx number. Ensure the contact is still linked to facebook
Menu > Edit
This brings up the Edit screen
Scroll down, Then add.
On the Drop down, select Phone > Work
Now, providing you only had one number for that person, you should have two fields. One called Mobile with their number this format 07xxxxxxxxx. (If its in the +44xxxxxxxxx format, then change it to the 07xxxxxxxxx format)
Press on the top field (the original one), then copy all.
Select the field called work, then press on the field, hold, and paste.
Now press Menu > Save.
Now press and HOLD the field called Call work, and set this as your primary number.
Once primary number is on the field called call work, you can now go to Menu > Edit.
Now delete the Field labeled Mobile
Go to the field called work, then change the label to Mobile.
Menu > Save.
This will now stay as your contacts primary number.
E.g.
Georgia Bowman
Call mobile.
07xxxxxxxxx
Send message.
07xxxxxxxxx
Instead of having 44xxxxxxxxx

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo my girlfriend got herself a new HTC Aria a few days ago and the thing won't let her link her contacts to their Facebook profiles. All the contacts are stored on her phone, not the SIM has 2.1 stock. You type in the person's name after tapping the 'link profile' button or whatever it says, and no profiles show up in the search box. I noticed that a similar post in the HTC Hero forum, but no one seemed to have any luck over there. And yes, I've gone into the settings and enabled everything that I know to enable regarding syncing, facebooking, and anything else along on those lines.

View 6 Replies View RelatedSince I updated to 2.1, I am not able to link my contacts to my Facebook friends. I am signed in to Facebook through "Facebook for HTC Sense" (when I click "Add Account" and choose "Facebook," it won't do anything) but when I go to a contact and try to link to a friend, there is no one on the list. I have tried logging out and back in, then restarting the phone, but that hasn't fixed the problem. Also, is anyone else having the keyboard refuse to work when trying to send a text?

A couple questions about ZenEXP,
1) why can't I link my contacts with facebook? I'm not talking about syncing them I'm talking about linking them so that their profile pics come up on under "people" on my phone, every other ROM I've used does this just fine but Zen does not for some reason.
2) Do I need an app from the market to see how fast my processor is running? I've seen where some people have run into troubles of having their processor redlined all the time

I have an HTC EVO now, but I'm switching over to Verizon soon and was looking into either the Droid X, Droid 2, Fascinate, or Incredible. I was curious, can you link your contacts to people's Facebook pages like HTC can? The thing I like most is having their profile picture show when they call, rather than the standard Android logo. If someone can answer as soon as they can, that will be great seeing I will be picking up one of these phones tomorrow!

When I hit the "phone" button on my HTC wildfire it brings up all my contacts on both my SIM card and in the phone memory. Is there anyway that I can see just the SIM card contacts as it shows up all of my contacts twice! When I hit the HTC people button it will just bring up a list of each contact only once, but this takes a few seconds to load.
View 5 Replies View RelatedJust got my wildfire, running android 2.1 and cannot obtain an IP address from my TP Link TD W8920G router. log in the password etc and it just keeps getting stuck in a loop saying 'obtaining IP address', then unsuccessful.
I've tried manually adding the phone's MAC address to the router configure, and have assigned an IP address to the phone, following advice on other forums. I've upgraded the router's firmware, and I've rebooted the router. I've attempted to 'use static IP' but truth be told i don't really know what that means.
I just bought the Wildfire and have got the hang of it.
My problem: I did not put off the sync feature for facebook and now my calender and my contacts are filled with hundreds of people i never interact with. and i somehow cannot erase all the hundreds of birthdays of those people in my calender. the only option i think is to do a Reset. does that delete all my contacts in my sim too? )
This feature on my desire has never worked but im only just getting round to asking why. it happens when i get a facebook notification and drag down the notification pane from the top of the screen. when i get a "new poke" notification and tap the message it takes me to my facebook home page and i can respond to the poke, that works fine. however when i get a "new message" notification and i tap that it just redirects me to a blank page. ie the weblink doesnt work. is there anyway to edit the weblink for this notification so that it redirects me to my facebook homepage?

Just happened a few days ago, where one of my contacts on my phone from Gmail that was linked to Facebook all of a sudden is unlinked. When I tried to relink to fix it, the contact doesn't appear on the list to link. Going into the Facebook app, the contact is listed there. Anyone run into this or have any idea how to fix? Tried a reset already, after backing up apps/messages.

Same exact name. If I open up People, she is there. If I open up Facebook friends, she is there. When I open up People, find her and try to link to Facebook, she is not there.

Is there any way to link all my contacts to FB at once vs having to go into each one manually and selecting "Link", then selecting the "suggested FB profile"?
