HTC Desire HD :: Smoothness Compared To Iphone - Slow Browsing?

Nov 14, 2010

I have been checking both XDA and this forum about everything on Htc Desire HD. I have not seen a live demo of the phone yet, but so far I love the Sense UI, Android OS, Size and look of the phone. My gf is getting a Iphone 4, I think its an awesome phone but dont like the UI, size or look of the phone. One thing I do like though is the speed in menus and browser. So I have a few questions. I have heard alot of complaints about lag on Desire HD but that its been fixed with the USB debug thing. So how is the smoothness now compared to the Iphone? Browsing on the internet seems a bit choppy, is it because of flash? can I turn it off so it runs better?

Jquery On Android Is Very Slow Compared To Windows Phone

Nov 24, 2013

My website uses jQuery and the it's main feature uses a loop. On the desktop, all 3 browsers (GC, FF, IE11) executes the loop approx. 1,100 times a minute. On Windows Phone, it does 1,000 times a minute, a bit slower. But on Android in particular, it only gets about 500, and the UI updating is slow. I don't know about iPhone.why my jQuery is running much slower on Android then the rest of the platforms I've tested?

Android :: Droid Apps Suck Compared To IPhone

Jul 17, 2010

Have somewhat limited exposure but what I do have on Android Apps is not positive. The Apple Apps store is far superior to what you get with AppBrain and Market. The Android Apps always give a very vague and sketchy description, next to impossible to get details of what it does.I bought Bettercut and Cashbook - Expense Tracker, both sucked in a big way.Already uninstalled both. The open architecture of Android is a great concept and I love my DroidX.I hope the apps come along soon to make the whole thing complete.

Android :: IPhone / Unhappy With Reception And 3G Slow

Jul 27, 2010

I came across this in the comments section from an article about Most users happy with at&t service from cnet (article is from cnn). Article is irrelevant but the person wrote. "I'm an unhappy iPhone owner/user! I had a iPhone 3G and switched over to the iPhone 4; still unhappy with phone reception and 3G is very, very slow. I use WiFi mostly. Too bad other "smart phones" aren't as easy to use for non-computer people." Is this what some people think about android? I first owned the hero and now the EVO and using setting it up and using it was nothing. Is the Iphone that simple ? Now both my phones have the sense ui ,but is this the mind set for some people who want to switch but they think its "not easy for non-computer people"?

Android :: Is Exchange Active Sync Enabled By User? Device Type Or OS?

Sep 26, 2010

Is Exchange ActiveSync enabled by user? device? device type or device OS? I'm asking because I'm going to an employer who said they only support Exchange corporate email on Blackberry or iPhone. I just purchased a Samsung Epic Android phone under Sprint. As far as I now there is no Enterprise email plan for that phone. But it does run ActiveSync. Why would an employer limit the devices allowed to access email and can they really enforce that? Is the limitation usually a function of what devices can run Active Sync? Also, if they do allow my Android, what beyond entering the the user, pw and exchange server do they need to do on my phone? Can they put a policy on my personal phone?

KitKat 4.4 :: Setting Up Duplicate Email / Active Sync Accounts On Android 4.4?

Jan 16, 2014

Due to circumstances at my work , I cannot access the internal network outside.

Therefore I have to use exchange active sync to sync my work calendar whilst I am at work.

To access emails outside of work with have a email route setup and a external email host.

The short is I have to add 2 accounts under the same email address. One which will connect to the work network locally over wifi and the other that will just allow me to view work emails externally.

This has worked fine previously but since my phone has been updated to 4.4 kitkat when adding the second account it pops up with a error message about duplicate accounts.

How can i bypass this message and add the second account?

HTC EVO 4G :: Anyone Else Using Exchange Active Sync (As Items Arrive)?

Jun 8, 2010

Is anyone using Exchange ActiveSync with "As items arrive" enabled?I had it set this way yesterday and my battery was completely dead in 4 hours (with minimal use). Now, i have it set to check "Every 10 minutes" and my battery is at 60% after 7 hours of heavy use!! Incredible! I am using Exchange 2003 (hosted provider) and I've NEVER had a device do this. The devices always seem to last longer with "as items arrive" set - since it isn't syncing regardless every 10 minutes.

When I search for someone in the Global Address List using the Online Directories and then Company Directory I get the person, their email, Company and Title but no phone numbers. I have used a couple of iPhones and they return all the info and accessing the OMA page and searching returns all the info. Any thoughts? I looked at the logs on the OMA sever (also our OWA server) and show no errors in the Event viewer or the IIS logs and VZW was completely useless.

HTC Incredible :: Way To Create Email Filters For Active Sync Exchange?

Apr 29, 2010

I have the D Inc and have a question. Is there anyone to create filters in Active Sync Exchange that filters out emails so they don't hit your Inc. I have a rule setup in Outlook that automatically sends an email sent by a specific email address to go directly to my deleted items in my Personal Folders in Outlook 2007. The reason why i ask is because on my BB Storm, I setup a filter that blocked these emails from going to my BB In box. I also remember on my Moto Q with Win Mobile I always also able to setup a filter as well. I work at a help desk with a ticket tracking system, the system sends an email for every ticket opened by the help desk to all help desk employees, so my in box can fill up quite quickly. I did notice that if I have Outlook opened up on my desktop these emails do not show up on my D Inc, but when I close Outlook (Like I did last night before I went home), they are showing up today on my Inc.
