I added a hotmail account to my emails on my Moment,, and now I can't figure out how to delete the hotmail account. I spent 20 minutes on the phone today with Sprint, then I must have driven through a dead spot b/c just as they were going to help me the call was dropped from my end. Anyway, anyone with instructions on how to do this?

just got my desire this morning and i don't really know what i'm doing with it, i've never had a smart phone before. i've set up my hotmail account as the email account on the phone but, call me paranoid, i'd rather not have it on there at all. if i delete the account on the phone will it have any detremental effect on the actual email account?
View 4 Replies View RelatedIn the email app that came with my Sprint HTC Evo, I added my googleapps email... I then later discovered the gmail android app works better.. So I set it up there also. However, the email app still has my email account setup in it.. I don't see a way to delete it. I've held down the account, but no context menu shows up.. there's no delete function apparently.. I'd add another account to test with, but I'm afraid I won't be able to delete that either!

View 4 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know how to clear historical contacts from the Email application. I'm using yahoo, I don't have Gmail set up on this phone because yahoo is my primary email. I've sent emails to 3 wrong emails. For example JoeSmith@aol.com, JSmith@aol.com, JoeS@aol.com but really his email is JoeSmith@yahoo.com. Now everytime I go to send this person an email, all 4 emails come up, the 3 in history, and the 1 in his contact information. When I type in J in the email recipient, all 4 come up, 3 say "history" next to the line of the email. I tried to add those emails into the contact, and then delete the emails, but that doesn't work.
I've went to yahoo to see if those contacts are showing up in history and they are not, so I know the historical email history is on the phone only. I haven't found a way to remove these items in history, but it's starting to cause problems because if I don't pay attention, I am choosing one of the wrong emails. Same thing is happening when I hit reply to ALL, 1 time about 2 months ago, and now i have about 40 emails in history and I don't even know who these people are, they are not in my contacts, and the phone is holding them hostage because I sent an email once. Does anyone know of a sure way to remove these historical emails?
If you don't know what I mean, give it a try, send an email to JOE@yahoo.com, and when you get it kicked back, the next time you try to send an email and hit "J", that JOE@yahoo.com will show up every single time, without fail. I've checked all historical settings on the phone, and even removed and re-added the yahoo account, but it does no good, the historical emails still stay in history. It's getting very annoying to have 45+ emails that you dont even know show up everytime you try to email someone something. Someone must have an answer for this, I can't be the only one that has sent the wrong email to someone.
Just returned my hero for a moment but am not able to set up my yahoo email account. Anyone else have this issue? I keep getting a message that username or password is incorrect.I had no problem setting up my google email (duh!) or google voice but not yahoo email even tried to do it manually through the pop3 Any suggestions.will be at a conference the next 2 days and really need to access my email during it

Is this normal or is there automatic feature that i must enable to have it alert me once an email is received?
Secondly, is it possible to set-up a third party email account, ex: Yahoo? I went through the notion of manually enter email account, but was unsucessful. At the moment I am using the default htc email widget, however when ever I read an email from my gmail account it doesnt update the read status so it still shows as unread.

Is this only way to delete/remove second google account from my phone? I'm using google Apps Standard Edition which is using my own domain name. Everything is ok till I add second gmail account like xxxx@gmail.com. I had to delete my original gmail that I used to set up my Droid last year. I factory reset the same phone and created a new Gmail account. Why do I have to buy my apps all over again if I am using the same phone, credit card etc.? I'd like to sell my HD2 running Android. However I cannot get it to reset the gmail account that I entered on it. These are things I've tried. Its a windows based hd2 running android so the correct section was a little confusing. Also I didn't flash it and of course the person that did isn't around compounding the issue. I need to maintain the flash but if I can't I can't .

2. deleting the account ( I get an error saying, " This account is required by some applications. You can only remove it by resetting the phone to factory defaults").
3. Going in and clearing "google apps" which doesn't exist.
I think I registered my Gmail account twice now, once I turned the phone activated and the other time when I entered in email accounts. how to delete it from the general mail tab (where I have my hotmail accounts) and just leave the general GMAIL tab alone (the one you automatically do when you register the phone)?
