View 7 Replies View RelatedVoice playback is basically shot. It plays back completely broken up and muffled with mostly static and crackling. It's to the point that it has to be broken, it's so bad, you can't even make a single word out. I have tried every which way of speaking into it and it is not a poor quality issue, I believe it is just not functioning properly. Phone calls and music playback are excellent and voice recognition is fine but voice playback is broken. I am wondering if it's the SD card since that is where it saves.

1) The app must have a home screen widget that allows me to start and stop recording without launching the app itself.
2) The app should let me dictate into a long single dictation every time I click record, rather than creating a separate voice file each time. The closest app I've found is voice recorder, but it insists on making each recording a separate file, rather than just appending a new recording to the end of the old one. Anyone know of a good app that can do these things?
Could someone tell me where the voice recorder is ? I cant find it anywhere !

If I am missing it, please let me know and I apologize.I am trying to get some files I recorded on my Eris using the stock Voice Recorder app that came with the phone. When I look at the list of Voice Recorder files on the phone, at the top of the list, it says a file path:/sdcard/.voicerecorder/voices However, when I plug in the phone and mount the SD Card on my macbook running OSX 10.5, that path does not appear. Can anyone help please? I'd really like to get these files off the card.

I'd like to use this as a ringtone and send it to my wife to use on her PRE as a ringtone as well. I assume that I have to get it to a more usable format, like .MP3. Also, we were able to test this on a few Android Smartphones, but we are looking forward to seeing if there are any issues on phones we have not tested on. If you view your call history with verizon, do you see the majority of your calls as SCRM MAIN from 9165383466? Or do you get some other number labeled SCRM MAIN.

Unfortunately thats something that very important because she records her nursing lectures. Am I missing it, or is there not one there. Going through the Market I saw that some of the audio recorders are buggy, especially with the Droid. Can anyone recommend a stable, decent audio recorder that I can use? Also, before anyone asks, I am from a state where only one party needs to consent to recording, so there are no legal issues here. To be honest, I plan on asking everyone there if they mind if I record it anyway. Should any of them say no, I still won't have any problems recording it.

menu>settings>call>voicemail settings>voicemail number>
If your code is 7777, this is how you would program it: *86p7777#p1
The p stands for pause. Once you program this, all you have to do to check your voice mail is hold down the 1 button on the phone and the phone will do the rest.I'm pretty new to smartphones.This is one of my favorite tricks.
Does anyone know why Google Voice requires an area code to call? I understand that the number it dials from could be from anywhere, so it may need an area code to complete the call, but how about an option to dial a default area code when the person does not enter one?

What I need the application to do is to constantly 'listen' on the microphone, and as soon somebody around starts speaking (the noise level increases to high) it automatically starts to record the conversation. Once there are no more sounds coming in for e.g. a few minutes, it stops recording.

The videos are short (few minutes), and their length are preset with setMaxDuration(). When Media Recorder.MEDIA_RECORDER_INFO_MAX_DURATION_REACHED is reached, the video is saved, and a new sequence is initialized with something like: The whole process works fine, while the main activity is in the foreground. But, when I go to another activity (e.g. settings), the video recording works in the background only until max duration is reached. The file is saved, but a new sequence can not be started because prepare() fails. setPreviewDisplay() needs to be there, but it doesn't like not having a proper surface to attach to. I tried to use a dummy Surface, a dummy SurfaceHolder, or reuse the Camera with mMediaRecorder.set Camera(), but nothing works. Is there a way to initialize Media Recorder in the background?
