Failed downloads report "Download unsuccessful" in the Notification area. I think this should be changed to "Download failed", because the words unsuccessful and successful look a little bit too similar at a glance.

I have run the speedtest app on multiple occasions and in different areas of Houston and my usual results are 800kb/s download and 1.1 mb/s upload. Only one time did I crack the 1 mb/s download speed and it was by a large margin (2.7 mb/s).
Is anyone else seeing these kind of results?

How can I change the language to dutch? Where can I download it?
I don't have the dutch language in the list.
Just updated to 4.3. (Galaxy Note 2) All fine. Only one problem:
Lost Swedish as input language. (But English and Chinese still present.)
I choose add input language. It says tap to download (Swedish). The download progress bar appears but never starts to fill. Wait long. Finally it says "download failed".
Is anyone else experiencing problems? I'm on a HTC Desire running 2.2 stock Froyo. The only modification I've made is to manually force apps to the SD card. Since Market 2.12 was released I can download but not install anything. I can't update either, it'll download but then immediately bring up an Installation Failed notification.
I have been advised to clear the Market cache and to uninstall the new update but by the time I reload the Market after uninstalling the update, I'm back on 2.12 as it updates automatically.
Has anyone else experiencing similar problems?
Any idea if there's a fix or do I have to wait for Google to sort it out?
Is there anywhere I can report this to Google?
This problem first started after installing Lock bot, ATK and Alevel. Rebooted my phone and was greeted with an X in my signal bar and all home apps and google/android apps FC. I tried to reboot and pull battery even though the battery pull from my understanding has no effect. I've seen other threads say to do a hard reset but I didn't have a back up of my phone. I uninstall the 3 apps listed and the phone booted up fine.The next day I downloaded lock bot and level whith a reboot after each and no problems. I went back to tk because i like the 1x4 task bar it has and all was well.(No i'm not blaming ATK because too many people use it successfully) Yesterday I downloaded Safe neighborhood(My creepy neighbor looks out his window and watches the kids way too much), OS Monitor after uninstalling TK, and the Swype app I found on a thread here. As soon as I rebooted I received that X again. Uninstalled the last three apps and O.K.. I have re-installed OS Monitor and swype and phone reboots fine. I didn't download safe neighborhood again because my neighbor may be a perv but now I know he's not a convicted perv. The thing I'm noticing now is that when trying to use the market the downloads take several minutes to load or don't load at all.

First, I should say I started out his way, and switched after reviewing a lot of applications. The background is this -- we have an app, with some controls which can be locked. A lock/unlock icon is put next to the lockable controls. You can long-click the icon, and it brings up a context menu with several items, including the item for the lock state.Currently, it brings up a "Locked [X]" or "Locked [ ]" item -- that is, a menu item with a checkbox that can be checked or unchecked, and the lock state is changed accordingly.He would like me to change it to reflect the action being taken. I.e. the menu item would say "Lock" if it is currently unlocked, and "Unlock" if it is currently locked.It would be acting as a toggle in either case; the only difference is how it is presented to the user.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI use to own a palm pre before I switched to HTC EVO. I think the evo is a great phone but the two things I missed so much about my palm pre is the camera and the sound qualities.
The EVO is said to use 8MP for its camera but honestly the camera quality is nothing compare to the palm pre. Simply put, the camera and the sound output on the evo sucks.
You can clearly notice the difference between the pictures I took using the pre and the evo. The pre gives far better picture quality and also better sound output. I always enjoy plays my sounds or using pandora on my pre, but with the evo the different is the case. The sound quality with the evo is horrible even when plugged to good speakers.
I bearly take picture with the evo because I am used to good picture quality with my pre.
I have had the evo for less than two weeks and i am seriously thinking of returning it because of these two issues.
I really want to know, is this poor picture and poor sound qualities a thing with the evo in general or is it just with the particular evo that I got.
I tried to download CoPilot to my hero, I got as far as adding all my details and the credit card details. After I clicked the buy now button it greyed out and nothing happened. What now?? And will I be charged? I checked my bank to see if there was a payment taken but nothing so far.

Now my list is slow and is not convenient for the user.I need something like a paging system: at the beginning I load 25 items. View 1 Replies View Relatedi've got a droid razr maxx running jb 4.1.2. at one point i had maxed out the storage space on both the SD card and the ~8gb of internal phone memory, so as i went to make a download i got a little error up top that said the download failed due to insufficient memory. i took care of the problem and completed the download, but ever since then that little !-in-triangle status has been up top on my status bar, always popping up atop the list of alerts that come up when i pull the top menu down. clicking on it sends me to my downloads page, so i've sorted out all of the filenames even remotely similar to that one and deleted them from the downloads page....
i can power off the phone, reboot it.... no matter what that status informing me that the download failed due to insufficient memory won't go away.....
I have the Motorola Razor Maxx on the Verizon network. Recently have received text messages I could not download. doesn't state why just "message size: 30KB" ask if I want to download or reject. When I try to download I get the same message "failed to download" is there a setting to change file sizes allowed or something else I'm missing.

That's pretty reasonable for the hard keyboard as you can easily see that there are more fields to fill out, and can just tap the next field once to go there.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy phone broke about 1 week ago and it was just a couple of days after my parents asked me what do you want for Christmas, I have never had a smart phone before I had my K800i for 4 years so I never looked at other phones. I quite like the look of the HTC Desire, I did glance at the Galaxy S but the contract prices were too high for my parents so that went out the window pretty sharpish. Is the HTC Desire a goods choice for reliability and usability. I have read many pros and cons but I would like to hear it first hand about any faults with it. Or should I look at another android phone for one reason or another? Like I said I am new to the smart phone world and I have only had a week to look around at the phones. Basically what I want is a phone that rings and I can access the web to check my emails and play with some apps. Sorry if the questions are a bit jumbled its just I couldn't quite figure out what I wanted to ask and part of me is locked onto the desire (don't know why) another part of me says I don't need a smart phone and the other part says "but wouldn't it be nice to check your emails on the go" so I am rather muddled.
View 28 Replies View RelatedI (like hundreds of others) have had a call quality problem with the two Droid Incredibles I purchased for my wife and myself when they were released on April 30th. Verizon recognized that there was a problem and replaced both devices with ones manufactured about a month later (5/02) and the same issue with poor voice quality continued.
We love the device EXCEPT for the lack of ability to understand callers. So, I asked Verizon to extend our 30-day opt out to give them an opportunity to work out the issues with this device. I just received a call from Verizon customer service (which I could barely understand) and was told they would not extend the 30 day period and my option was to live with the poor sound quality or switch to another device. Verizon has no other devices that were interested in at this time so well be canceling these two lines (and one other) and returning to T-Mobile. T-Mobile may not have the best coverage, but they do have great customer service, unlike Verizon.
Current iPhone owner thinking about making the switch to the Verizon Nexus One. I have a concern about the usability of the power (wake) button on the top left of the Nexus One that I haven't heard anyone else mention so perhaps it isn't as big of an issue as I anticipate. Basically my concern is that the hand position and motion required to wake the device using that button is not the same position you want your hand to be in to use the phone. For example, with the iPhone I wake my device with the bottom "home" button that is on the face of the device and then I can very quickly just move my thumb up to swipe-to-unlock without having to reposition the phone. It seems like this would not be possible with the Nexus One given that there isn't a wake button on the face of the phone near the bottom.I'd really love to hear from current Nexus One owners. Is this not the usability issue that I am making it out to be? Do you just adjust and find a new way of quickly waking and then swiping to unlock the phone that is just as comfortable and efficient as with the iPhone? If so, what do you do?

I downloaded the SNEsoid app, been playing ROMs on my computer for awhile now, but every time I download a ROM, <removed> being my main, I get the error message, load ROM failed, please try another file. I tried unzipping also, but none seem to work. Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated.
