I just got my G1 a few days ago and was looking for mail, contacts and calendar push, not wanting to use Goo.I found this: www.interways.net.They offer all that and integrate into Outlook, Apple Macs just fine. You can even keep Windows and Mac computers and your phone all in sync.Just a tip for those of you who are interested in syncing mail, contacts and calendars online.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI do NOT have WiFi in my home. I do have a PC that IS connected to the Internet. (I can get to some coffee shops where there is free WiFi, but not easily) Is there a way WITHOUT THIRD PARTY APPS - through USB - to connect my Android phone to my PC, and sync or bring down my Gmail, Gmail Contacts and Google Calendar. Maybe this is not true... but it seems, since the iPhone offers this functionality, that Google would also offer it. I realize the world is going wireless.... but (OK, I'm in another country), it's not quite there yet.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want my Gmail account to stay added so I can sync my emails, but I'm not interested in having every email address I have ever emailed added to my phone contacts! How do I stop this? I have looked under Accounts & Sync > Google > - here it only gives 3 options "Sync calendar", "Sync contacts" and "Sync Google Mail". Under each one it says "Select to sync all" and if I press any of them it just updates & syncs. There is no option to remove the things (contacts) that I would not like synced!

We all have Android phones and I have set up my HTC Desire (Android 2.2 sense UI) to sync with my google apps account, no problem.However my boss have the Motorola Milestone, and his android version just won�t sync with his google account. Every time I try adding a google account with his mail address (name@ourdomain.dk), I just get a �no network connection� error. But I can browse internet and youtube just fine.I have searched the forums, and it seems other people can add their google apps accounts just fine, while some have problems.

View 8 Replies View RelatedAs you well know, Android provides push mail just for 1 G-Mail account. I use 1 g-mail account for personal use and 1 for business, and I find the other e-mail program included a real mess....
However, a couple of days ago I heard that Google provided sync capabilities with PUSH gmail on other devices (Iphone, Blackberry -they had it already - , Symbian, and Windows Mobile).
So what I did is I took the Windows Mobile instructions found here: Google Sync : Set Up Your Windows Mobile Phone - Mobile Help
And plugged the settings into my Active Sync e-mail ("work e-mail", the one HTC included in the MyTouch 3g and puff I suddenly got push GMail for my second account as well.
Beware:
-you cannot archive like in Gmail and you will have to test the different features (does it delete from the server? do folders work?)
-as of now, only my incoming e-mail works. Outgoing e-mail acts like it's working but it doesn't send and doesn't show in the sent folder.
I had no problem setting up my Exchange sync, however I have multiple calendars on my Exchange account (1 account, multiple calendars), but the phone only syncs with one of those calendars. Is there a way to have it sync with ALL the calendars on my exchange account? (And I did go to the calendars selection settings but it only shows one of my exchange calendars.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSyncing with google calendar. I have a Macbook with iCal configured to match my Google calendar account. The two sync together with no problem. I tried setting up my HTC Desire to sync with my Google account which should give me three way sync but I get the following problem:
I open Calendar on my phone, I try to add an event, a message appears saying: YOU HAVE NO CALENDARS. Ont the settings side, if I hit MENU then MORE and I choose CALENDARS I can't see my Google account. If I hit SETTINGS there is nothing to add my Google account. If I go to the ACCOUNTS & SYNC settings, I see my Google account, but when I hit my account, the data synchronization theme only shows SYNC CONTACTS and SYNC GMAIL, there is no SYNC GOOLGLE CALENDAR (is this normal).
I had Syncmate installed on my macbook and had it configured on my Desire, but it didn't sync the calendar either so I deleted it from my accounts. Could this be causing my problem or does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
HTC Sync only lets me Sync to one calendar in Outlook and only syncs to the calendar named "Outlook internally".

I am a long time Palm user. I have a Centro and recently, just testing, moved all my contacts to Gmail and "some" of like 10 years of Calendar data (but not nearly all of it) - an no Memeo's or Tasks. Well, my Droid should be here in a few days and I wonder.. should I kill off and delete my test Calendar data and my contacts from my Gmail account? I plan to use that CompanionLink to do a 1 time sync of my Palm data and want to mitigate any issues and just have a nice clean port over. Best to remove what I have done OR leave what I have done since CompanionLink and Google will sort it out (redundant entries).

At work I have more than just the email calendar. I have a design calendar for allowing my sales reps and project managers to post events to. I also have my main email account calendar. I am the owner of both calendars but the only one that syncs with the stock calendar app is my email account calendar from outlook. This was very easy to do with my windows phone. I just ticked the calendars I wanted to sync to my phone. Was just like my outlook program at work. Showed my owned calendars and let me decide which ones I wanted to populate to my calendar app. I cannot find a way to do this on android. The only calendar it gives me is the main email calendar. I do not want to allow everyone in my work to see my email calendar just so it will show up on my phone easier. All the people can see the design calendar and edit it. This allows them to schedule projects and can see available bandwidth for my department.
Is the rift between google and MSFT too much that neither of them allows the other to do things, or is this just samsung not empowering their app to see other owned exchange calendars?
I managed to configure my hotmail and google calendars to sync via the built-in email app on my Transformer... no problem; but there appears to be a limit in place in Exchange that prevents the sub-calendars from syncing. (I've seen indications that using Outlook as a middleman might work.)

At the moment, my email resides on a server we own in a NOC.
I use Thunderbird with Lightning on my PC which gives me email, tasks, calendar, and contacts in one interface.
I then use MyPhoneExplorer to Sync with my Android. This gives me tasks, calendar, and contacts synchronized, but all in separate interfaces and then I've got K-9 for email which is again separate.
What I'd like is an email client that included tasks, calendar, and integrated properly with contacts on both my PC and my Android.
I'm willing to use pretty much any software on the PC and on the Android, but I've found nothing that does this cleanly.
My tasks are email centric, meaning that I create tasks out of emails because that's how I get work requests.
I'm willing to use any combination of apps on my PC and on my Android, but the ideal solution would be one applications for all of it which integrated nicely with the Android phone contact list.
I have 2 gmail accounts. Unfortunately, one of them is for my calendar and contacts and the other is for my personal e-mail. As of now, my cal and contacts are syncing fine but I do not use the e-mail account that is associated with thier username. I have my other account (personal e-mail) set up sepeartely....along with a few other e-mail accounts(work and etc.). I would like to know if i can leave my cal and contacts setup on the regular droid sync account but change the e-mail account to my personal acct. so it will "push" by default with out having it in a seperate palce on the droid. I know this is confusing but i dont know how else to explian it.

The 2 new ones will not show up in the phone.
Has anyone run into this? I did a google search, but not much for results out there which I find strange.
also, I subscribed to a read only one (canadian holidays) and it was on the phone right away.
So it seems that only ones that I create I cannot get to the phone.
how to set up Gmail through an exchange server so that you can get push email in the HTC Mail app. I obviously can't be 100% sure this works, but the folks over at XDA seem to think this is the solution for the Desire. The instructions are for a Windows Mobile Device, but all of the information you need to fill in inside the HTC Mail app should be available at the link. View 18 Replies View RelatedI am currently roaming outside my home network in the UK and cannot get Exchange Server to automatically synch. I have read countless posts on this forum and elsewhere trying to self-help before posting, but despite this one appearing to be the same issue, I have been unable to fix it.
In essence when opening Menu > Settings > Accounts & Synch > Manage Accounts / Exchange Active Sync > Account Settings I see that the option for "Sync when roaming" is not only unticked but also greyed out so I cannot enable it.
How can I fix this, please?
Note that Menu > Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile Networks > Data roaming is ticked and so is ... > Enable always-on mobile data.
I am currently on an Edge network and manual Exchange Synch works just fine but having automatic sync is more important right now that worrying about the roaming charge.
Is there a way to only set push e-mail for the Inbox folder? When I set up push e-mail for my Exchange server it wants to download the mail in all of my folders. That is over 2,000 messages.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have my yahoo mail account set up to my hero I never get my mail pushed to the phone I have set it to 5 minute push 15 minute push etc etc .. but works fine if I manually check it, all my mail is there. I alsohave my yahoo account set as default. When I set it up I assume it was done properly hence the reason I can receive the mail if I refresh it myself ...are there any other settings that I may be missing?
