Last time I checked if you set your default browser to say Dolphin Browser it caused some issues with updates of apps and the market. Does anyone know if this has been addressed or if setting your default browser to a 3rd party still creates update issues with other applications?

One of the reasons I didn't get a Droid is because I want a browser that doesn't automatically download the Mobile versions of web pages-if I am buying a smart phone, I don't want a dumb downed web page, especially if I am in an area that has decent speed.Which browser is the best? Is there going to be a version of Firefox/Opera for Droid?

View 4 Replies View RelatedSince I've set Dolphin as my default browser, when I click on a link to search for an app in the market I get a not found error. For instance, there is a link in Documents to Go (the paid key file) that is supposed to take you to the market to download the actual Documents to Go apps when I click on that link it opens the Dolphin browser and then there is a not found error. Before I set Dolphin as the default those types of links would open the market place to the application.

Try rating them on a scale of 1-100 (So you can be detailed (If you don't want 1-100, use a pseudo 1-10 by using only the tens place (similar if you want 1-5 (or any other number (hell, just give it a rating!)))). I have few requirements, it has to have unlimited pages open at once, multitouch capabilities, and be free (Donate versions don't count as a paid version since your getting the exact same thing as the free version but your donating to the author).

I also would like to know if it is possible to have a clear notice about how udates/upgrades FOR EACH APPLICATION are dealt with in terms of charges to your credit card when you buy in the Market. I think this is essential if we want to improve the Market, put some order and make sure you can control what you pay once you establish a relationship with third parties through the Market and eventually guarantee the success of the platform. Are there any rules for developers/sellers in the Market in this respect? Can we read them?

Next if I went to search for transformers 2, I start typing in the word "transformers" and right away the above word appears, but if I click on it, it goes right to the original search. This setting is reset between sessions, I didn't use it frequently and eventually forgot how to go about making the change. Recently I had a need to access these hidden browser settings again and it took quite a long and frustrating search effort to finally locate this information which does not seem to be widely publicized. View 6 Replies View RelatedI've bought a Xperia X10 a few weeks ago with great expectations, but it lasted with a huge disappointment! Whatever I guess I have to wait for 2.1 update but I am not sure it will satisfy anybody. As I wrote in title there are some serious and annoying problems, I cant sign in my twitter account on the phone because of login and connection problem (however I didnt get any problems at signing in Facebook and Gmail accounts).
Second problem is "missing" Android Market application on the phone. Anyway I found the official .apk (vending.apk) from the net and loaded to my phone but it didnt work and caused freezing and error messages as "not responding / force to close" etc. Also I cant reach to Market site from Browser, no way!
The last and stupid problem is "reseting and deleting" Browser setting and bookmarks without any reason or action like hardreset or even turn on/off the phone! As an example: I set homepage as google.com and later on I checked ok! but for the second use after a couple of time, when I started the browser it opens with SE Wap Page as default and removed my homepage from settings. Also phone deletes the Bookmarks which I add.
Since the alleged 2.1 rollout is this Friday, what will it include? Should I wait to buy Swype, or will it come out with something similar?

When people buy the application, I want them to be able to "upgrade" without losing their data, i.e. the premium version should install over the free version.I want to use the same code base and just switch a setting to build the premium version.
Andoid Market does not let me convert a free app to a paid app, so the trivial option is not available.I am curious if someone has tried this successfully. How does Android Market identify an application - will it think that the premium version is a different app and just install it in parallel?
