Android :: De Facto Best Browser On Market?

What is the de facto best android browser on the market? I know there probably isn't one, but what's the best one YOU know of. Try rating them on a scale of 1-100 (So you can be detailed (If you don't want 1-100, use a pseudo 1-10 by using only the tens place (similar if you want 1-5 (or any other number (hell, just give it a rating!)))). I have few requirements, it has to have unlimited pages open at once, multitouch capabilities, and be free (Donate versions don't count as a paid version since your getting the exact same thing as the free version but your donating to the author).

Whats the best browser to date available in the Android market or for the Incredible? Ive come to think Dolphin HD is but plenty of the others work great.What is the fastest and most reliable/easy to use?

Using G1, go to http://www.myspace.com. Notice the site is able to detect the user agent from the browser and provides a link to search the MySpace application on the Android Marketplace. Google's http://code.google.com/android/devel/sign-publish.html# publishing provides options to search, e.g. http://market.android.com/search?q=pname:<package>. This does not work for me.

Last time I checked if you set your default browser to say Dolphin Browser it caused some issues with updates of apps and the market. Does anyone know if this has been addressed or if setting your default browser to a 3rd party still creates update issues with other applications?

I have a question with youtube/android market/internet browser after searching for something. For example, if first I type in the word transformers and then click it, it will search youtube or if I am on the android market/internet search for transformers. Next if I went to search for transformers 2, I start typing in the word "transformers" and right away the above word appears, but if I click on it, it goes right to the original search. How can I do it where if I click on it the word transformers will appear but not run youtube video/android market/web browser so I can then type in the number 2.

The "Developer Console" page of Android market not work on Chromium browser. Some hyperlink item on this page are un-clickable, such as "Upload Upgrade", "Replace this image", and "add language". However it's work correctly on Fire-Fox browser. I don't know how to report this issue to Chromium developing team, please help me to report this issue.

I've bought a Xperia X10 a few weeks ago with great expectations, but it lasted with a huge disappointment! Whatever I guess I have to wait for 2.1 update but I am not sure it will satisfy anybody. As I wrote in title there are some serious and annoying problems, I cant sign in my twitter account on the phone because of login and connection problem (however I didnt get any problems at signing in Facebook and Gmail accounts).
Second problem is "missing" Android Market application on the phone. Anyway I found the official .apk (vending.apk) from the net and loaded to my phone but it didnt work and caused freezing and error messages as "not responding / force to close" etc. Also I cant reach to Market site from Browser, no way!
The last and stupid problem is "reseting and deleting" Browser setting and bookmarks without any reason or action like hardreset or even turn on/off the phone! As an example: I set homepage as google.com and later on I checked ok! but for the second use after a couple of time, when I started the browser it opens with SE Wap Page as default and removed my homepage from settings. Also phone deletes the Bookmarks which I add.

Is there a way (possibly using javaScript) to define an HTML button that will, once clicked, to open the Android Market application (the one with greenish icon)? For such a feature to work right we'll need, of course, a way to determine whether the client browser is running on Android.

Today, when I connected the phone (SE Xperia x10i) to PC, I was shown 'update available'. I updated. All worked well, but the Market is not working after the update, nor is the browser. The market is showing 'loading' with terms and conditions (it is more than 3 hours now), while in the browser, only the Google homepage is opening.
No other site or Search option in Google is working. However, other widgets like Facebook, G mail or email is working fine. The phone is showing to be 'up to date'. I have accessed the market quite a number of times before the update & require some apps from it urgently.

Marketplace thinks I have this application installed, but won't let me uninstall it. Rumor is that re-installing the APK file will fix it, but there is none to be had on the web. Anyone have the APK file for dolphin? It needs to be 1.2.99 (or later) because the package name was changed in that version.

Ever since I've had my HTC Hero, the internet connection has been really flaky. That is, about half the time it works ok, but with a slow start, and the other half it doesn't work at all, and comes up with either a "cannot find page" in the browser, or "a network error has occurred" in Market or other apps.
I bought into the Hero thing because I wanted a mobile internet device and my iPhone wasn't cutting it with the lack of Flash. But at least my iPhone always worked!
The problem I'm having is this:
No matter whether I'm on wifi or not, browsing for a webpage in any of the available browsers (standard, steel, dolphin), has a delay of about 5 seconds, and then either starts loading the page, or comes up with some kind of "page not found" error. This happens with all websites, including the home page of google, which isn't exactly big or unreliable, except on my Hero.
Also, any app that uses an internet connection, such as Market, more often than not comes up with "a network error has occurred". Clicking "retry" rarely works.
Now if it was just through wifi, I would think it might be the setup of the routers that I've tried it on, allthough I've tried it on 3 completely different types of router, all with same symptoms.
I've also done much testing with wifi switched off, and still the same issues.
I could understand it if it just didn't work ever under either wifi or other, but sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.
I have done my wifi tests while sitting right next to the routers, with maximum signal reception being indicated.
Ok, so it tells me that "a network error has occurred". Is there some way of finding out exactly what the error was? Was it a timeout, or a DNS error, or what?

I have a Motorola droid (orig) that when you are web browsing there is a bar that comes up on the bottom right with +/- to adjust zoom level. Does this still exist on the Droid 2 Stock Browser?

Just wondering what browser you guys are all using. I just rooted yesterday and have tried both chaosfroyo and xtrsense, but my browser is always zoomed way out. Is there a setting to fix this or possibly a better browser to istall?

I have an app that was installed via Android Market. And so, the Android Market knows when new versions are out and notifies me of an update. Titanium Backup calls this the 'Market Link', not sure what else it could be called.
how would I go about 'disconnecting' the app from the Market? Deleting the market link as if it were side-loaded?
Yes, I know this means no more updates for the app etc. Which is actually what I'm after.

I have the following clear message :
Market requires the minSdkVersion to be set in AndroidManifest.xml.
But my manifest has the line : <uses-sdk minSdkVersion="2" /> and I also tried even <uses-sdk minsdkversion="2" />... I try to put this line : as the first child of manifest, as the last child and also right after application.. Is there a hidden rule I don't know ...

I am developping (for my company) an app included on a project that will have 2 versions:
- 1st simple version to download using a OTA server, clients accesss to an URL to download.
- 2nd version more complex to be published on the Market.
The question here is that the process to publish on the Android Market is under bureaucratic internal process and it takes a long time, so the idea do reduce the time to market is to provide an OTA version.
There is any possibility for users that download application via OTA to upgrade the application for version published later on the Market? (Both Application will be signed with the same key).

I know my question answers but since there's a lot of you who really spend your time scrutinizing your rank, downloads and all, I'm trying it maybe someone came up with empiric science on this one :
Does anyone understood even bits of how the market ranks apps in the market ?
I usually don't look at stats but following another post on this topic, I counted my rank in my category ... 565 ... Ouch that hurts! Especially when half the apps in front of mine, are crap apps with less downloads and ratings as low as 1 star :).
Not that it would make a difference being rank 250 instead of 565...But this is humiliating a little :s
Since my app has been on the market for one month, i'm wondering if age matters ...
I know I should have asked in the market "black hole of hell " google group but the name says it all. And I'm sure some of you already figured out some of the black magic used by the Market to rank apps.

I'm trying to replace the Browser.apk with a different browser..I read up and people said just rename the new browser to browser.apk and replace it in system/app I removed the stock browser and replaced it and there's no force closes or anything just the new browser don't work..I tried replacing it with chrome btw

I've just noticed that the Android Market shows a blank page with the message 'No matching content in Android Market'. Yet when I go to specific sections of the Market or do a search, one is able to download and install applications and games just fine. I've only just noticed this happening in the last few days. I'm using an unlocked UK version Galaxy S but my location is Inner Mongolia, China. Would this have anything to do with Android Market not showing content on the front page? The S itself is loaded with Froyo, as downloaded from the XDA forums.

I had an edited png for the market icon in the vending apk but when I applied my edited png's to Ivans rom with the market fix it seems to have changed the icon back to the original market Icon. When I first loaded the rom it showed my edited png for the market icon but after my first reboot it seems to change the icon back to the original. I assume that the market is updating upon reboot so I pulled the vending apk off my phone and my edited png's are still there but its still showing the original market icon. Anybody else with an edited market icon notice this or any ideas of why its going back to original? I have tried this a couple times and it always updates after first reboot...
