So far, I love the Evo, but I am having three problems with it. And they are getting annoying. First off, some applications will randomly terminate. It started out being regular downloaded applications that would just end. Whatever, it was bearable albeit annoying. But now, sometimes important applications like "Touch Screen" (I don't think that's the exact name) are starting to terminate randomly. That made it so that I couldn't text (rebooting the phone restarted the application). Two, I seem to manage to accidentally press the screen in a random place just about once per minute when I'm holding the phone. It's getting to the point where I feel like it's starting to push random buttons when I just press the sides of the phone. I don't know, it's tough to describe. Also, there seems to be some other shortcut screen that pops up every so often. It's a small box in the middle of the screen that shows my six most recently used apps. I have no idea why it pops up, or how, but I would actually like to use it if I could figure out how to do it.
Three, lastly, it seems to lock up a lot. It just freezes, just like a computer would. It's probably done this about ten times now.So is anyone else having any problems like this? It's starting to get very annoying. Big blemishes for such an amazing phone... it makes me sad to think this has so many interfering problems.
I've been using JPA/JPP/JP4 with voodoo lagfix 5 pre6 for a few days now, and it's been working great... except for one thing. There is no lag while opening applications and stuff, but there is some stuttering while scrolling left/right on home screen, or up/down in menu... it's hardly noticeable, but still annoys me. Quadrant is giving me the same results as when i first flashed voodoo. Noticed one thing also, when i scroll down my notification bar it just doesn't drop as smooth as it was before, but just hangs at some point and then continues. I really can notice even a slightest change in performance, and i read that using voodoo wont cause any performance degradation.
Should i reflash my stock kernel and flash voodoo snapshot?
Can somebody take me step-by-step how to draw 2D stuff over a 3D scene (such as controls, etc.). What I've been doing so far has not been working (it only draws the 3D scene), which is (in every frame): draw the 3D scene as normal, projection matrix mode, load identity, call GLU.gluOrtho2D(gl, 0, myScreenWidthInPixels, 0, myScreenHeightInPixels), switch the array pointers (vertices and texture coords) to the ones for my 2D stuff, then drawElements with an appropriate index list. (then switch the array pointers back so the 3D stuff works again).I get nothing added to the screen (just the 3D stuff).Do I need to be doing something else for it to draw? Can somebody take me step-by-step?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm interesting in buying a Samsung Galaxy but first I'd like to know if all Android apps are phone model independent? I know that all the cool custom ROM stuff from XDA Devs is HTC only but apps are not? Mostly, I mean Open Home, Unlock 2.0 and Better Keyboard with their skins.
Same question goes about widgets.
I was looking thru the review of the droid x and i noticed that it has some pretty sweet social networking and news etc. widgets. does anyone know if we can get thos yet or and apks for em?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to kill widgets, apps, and sense for that matter, for a period of time then have a way to restart them. For example I go to an amusement park and want to make sure i get the whole day out of the phone w/o recharge, can i kill all the widgets etc and just leave it as a "phone" with calling in/out and SMS / MMS stuff, maybe browser, then turn it all back on at the end of the day with out having to start each thing individually?

She's new to the phone itself, so is she doing something wrong or is this just a con of smartphones? Or is this a Droid thing and not an EVO thing?
View 13 Replies View RelatedSo I've downloaded the Tajm and Battstatt which are widgets and for some reason they're downloading directly to my sdcard. So while I have them on my homescreen and I reboot my phone they will not show up anymore. So I decide to move them to my phone memory and when I do they no longer show up on the widgets list anymore.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFrom the standard home screen on the X10, when you drag your finger across to the left to open the screen to the right of the home page, is there any functionality to change the order and position of apps/widgets I have added.
The reason I ask is because when I add them, they are not aligned to each other and have been positioned pretty haphazardly, plus I'd like to be able to determine myself where each icon is placed.
I thought i remember a while back somone suggested a app that would give me more home screen's on my Samsung Moment, but i can't remember the name of the app (think it was something like Helix). when I search the market i can't seem to find anything that will give me more screen's to put widgets on.
View 17 Replies View RelatedI've been running launcherpro on the latest kangerade and I've been having some widget issues. On every reboot, my widgets fail to load, I get the problem loading widgets screen, and I have to uninstall and reinstall the application to fix the problem. Any ideas on what could cause this and how to fix it. Launcherpro and those apps were all installed on the phone. I had a similiar problem with the default launcher, and I must say its the only drawback I've seen with android so far.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought Beautiful Widgets, installed them and removed them from my screen. I am deciding how I want my little Zio to look. And no, I am not upset at my little problem. I love and would recommend the program. However, this AM I noticed clouds floating across my email screen after the phone sat idle for an hour or so. I took a look at all running apps (Task Killer, sorry) and nothing seems to be running that would account for the animation. I asked Mr. Google about this and he is as clueless as I am.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI haven't confirmed if this trick can be achieved on the default or other home launchers, but just now, I was able to overlap widgets together. Could be a bug with LauncherPro. I can actually press in between the top layer of widgets to access the underlying Facebook widget.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOkay so I've moved from Sense to launcherPro. Very happy with it, but I REALLY miss the FULL screen widgets that you get with sense.
I used to have the full screen Music App, the Photo App, Bookmarks, and Contacts taking up some of the sense screens. Now I have 3 blank screens in LP that I want to fill up.
Do you guys know of any full screen Apps/Widgets for Music, Photos, Bookmarks, and Contacts?
once installed, this app allows you to change the lock slider to various other options, lets you add widgets from other apps to the lock screen and also lets you add other shortcuts.there are lots of options in the settings menu as well.

Is there one current good app or widget that will do all the above.
For some reason I'm having problems deleting the widgets by dragging them into the bin. 9 times out of 10, the rubbish bin refuses to appear when I long press on a widget.
Is there another way - eg some settings menus somewhere or maybe a file that I can edit.
I am rooted
