Is there an Android app anywhere that will count how many SMS text messages I have used to date in a month? I have found a data counter which tells me the amount of data going through the phone via WiFi and the mobile network, but as these are both unlimited on my plan, it's no use. However I only get 300 minutes and 300 SMS messages each month included in my plan and would like to know where I am with those at any time.

I got the update now I have this annoying character counter in the window where I punch out my messages? How do I turn this off?
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have been using 'Gmail Unread Count by Alexander Blom' with great success, but after the 2.2 upgrade, it no longer opens to the message list. The new behavior seems to be that it opens the most recent email and I have to go back a screen to get to the message list. I have tried the following Apps: Gmail Unread Counter SMS Unread Counter Although both of them display the unread count beautifully, they both open to the first message and not the messagel list. Any ideas of any other apps that will open to the message list and NOT the first message?Why this isn't a standard widget in android blows my mind.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI opted to use the native Android (HTC?) imap client for my Gmail account simply because the widget shows me an unread message count. That aside however, the dedicated Google Gmail app is much better (it looks nicer imho and also has the "Archive" button - in the imap client I have to "Move to..."/"[Gmail]/All mail"). And the question: is there an way to have an unread email counter while using the Google gmail app? I would like something that will update as soon as the email is synced to my device, and decrement as soon as I archive an email in the google app.

How do i dasable the standard HTC app as i seem to get a notification on both. Also i have moved the handcent app to the home screen but it does not display a numerical display of a received text message (on the app icon) which i liked on the standard app. Is there a way to get it to do this?

UCCW worked for me to create counters for text messages and missed calls but not for WhatsApp. I know there are possibilities but I don't own a credit card so I'm looking for a free alternative.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I receive messages it makes the notification sound and will show message in notification bar but the text of the message will not appear in the text thread. Used to happen every once in a while, now doing it multiple times a day. I use Handcent but I doubt that is the problem because the messages dont show up in the regular messaging either. Just want to see if i am alone with this problem.

All of my text threads got erased when I went to reply to someone. The weirder part is that a few hours later, all of my texts had the mail symbol with a green "i" next to it, signifying that it was pending. People receive the messages, but mine all have a pending status.
Does anyone know how to disable the pop up text message that comes on the screen when u receive a message thru handcent? i would like it to jus show up in my notification bar so it wont interrupt me doing something else and show in the text big on my screen.

It's often slow and sometimes pops up while I'm already typing my reply. I've gone into the messaging settings and turned off everything that I figured could be related to that. I even turned off Auto-retrieve, but I still get those gray popups. I would really like to have them turned off.

On the blackberry, I would go to my contacts, shift-roll to select the phone number, and paste it into a new text message. I'm looking for the most efficient way to do this on my droid x. I have found the copy command in different places (sometimes via the menu key and other times via a hold click) but I don't see where I can select specific text. I must be missing something really obvious, but can someone tell me how I can send a text message to more than one contact in Handcent please? If I manage to do this, will all the recipients of that message be able to jointly read what everyone says like an email or facebook message? Maybe I'm asking too much?
