I must be missing something really obvious, but can someone tell me how I can send a text message to more than one contact in Handcent please? If I manage to do this, will all the recipients of that message be able to jointly read what everyone says like an email or facebook message? Maybe I'm asking too much?

Is there a way to pick a contact from the contact list to send a message to? The only way I can see is to type a name in the to field of the message.

I can't imagine that it could not have come from the phone. Maybe from that Facebook Touch app as that application had a lot of SPAM just within the application itself (its not deleted).
Did a bunch of searching but can't seem to find a solution. A friend texts and asks me if I have so-and-so's number. On the blackberry, I would go to my contacts, shift-roll to select the phone number, and paste it into a new text message. I'm looking for the most efficient way to do this on my droid x. I have found the copy command in different places (sometimes via the menu key and other times via a hold click) but I don't see where I can select specific text. I know there is a feature to send an id card or something like that, but those don't seem to work with a lot of phones.

Okay so I have a friend who has no phone so best way to talk to him is send him an email. I used to have a blackberry and I just added his email address as a contact and display name was also his email address to keep it simple. I would then do new sms and I can make him a recipient and it works just fine. Now I'm trying the same technique with my evo but when I do a new text message he doesn't show up cuz he has no phone nbr only an email address. So I have to manually type his long email address every time I want to send him a msg. I've tried using chompsms and handcent but no luck. so any ideas on how i can make the process easier and not have to type his email every time?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using Google Voice on my Env Touch for about a year now but only mainly for the sms transcriptions as the Env Touch doesn't have an app for it.
So, here's my main problem. All of my contacts are just in my phone. I don't have anyone's email address as all I do mainly is txt people or send them a message on facebook. I'm wanting to add all of my contacts to my gmail account so when I get my Incredible everything will be there. Right now my sms from GV just has the number and I actually don't know any of my friends numbers, they're just in my phone. *yes, technology can be a sort of burden at times* So I don't have a clue who the voicemail is from until I call into it. Is there any easy way of porting all these contacts from either my phone, backup assistant, or facebook? Also, do android phones take your contacts and your facebook and merge them into your gmail account?

I received a text message from my myself. This was a multimedia message, when i oppened it and hit play it was some stupid song playing, i am currently rooted, could it be an app, addware? The strange thing is that the message has my phone number as the from sender part?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI can not send pictures via text message with the stock message app, Handcent, or Chomp. I had been using Handcent for the past 2 1/2 months or so just fine, it would send pics. Then all of a sudden about a week ago it just stopped. It just kept showing the turning green circle over and over until the sending failed. I updated it, I uninstalled it, I reinstalled it. I tried Chomp. I tried the stock app. None of them will send a pic to another phone or to an email. I can send pics to facebook with the facebook app. The stock email app will send an email with a pic attached however.

When i get a sms i have the pop up enabled (after you unlock the handset). but not to show the keyboard. This works ok but when i press the white square to reply - the text you received does not move to the top of the screen so you cant see what your typing or you cant press send as there hidden by the keyboard. The only way you can see that is when you have finished is to press the back button (that closes the keyboard) and then you can also press the send button. If i have the keboard to pop up automatically when i get a txt....i only see the top line of writing / send button!
View 2 Replies View RelatedFound out yesterday that my "computer" is not sending text messages (using the native app). It caused an argument between my wife and I, and about damn-near caused a divorce. The bad thing is that, from what I can tell, it hasn't been sending ANY for a couple of days now. (Notice I didn't say that a potential divorce was not the bad thing ) I can receive texts all day long, not able to send them. In the time that I wasn't able to send them, I wasn't receiving any notifications that the text wasn't sent! I can go into the app, menu > undelivered and see 2 dozen texts there. Why am I not getting a failure notification if I have "Failure Notification" checked in the settings?
Because it went on for so long before being noticed, I have no way of knowing if I screwed around with the settings or if an app I downloaded has caused the problem. I've been tempted to use Handcent, but I'm leery about using something that radically changes the interface when I am a new Superphone and new Android user. Besides, it may not fix the problem.
I dont know if its something I did or not but...when I try to forward emails from my Droid Gmail account I get a message that says "Send this message without text in the body". If I continue then it forwards but nothing comes with it.

I found the option to change my outgoing text message under my settings, but now I just need to know how to use the feature. I tried it a few different ways with my son calling me while I was on another call, but I ended up dumping him into voicemail instead of sending the text message.
