General :: Use Droid 3 One Click Root On X2?
Sep 14, 2011
I tried using the root thats supposed to work on every Gingerbreak phone on the X2, and it wouldn't recognize my X2.
Can I use the Droid 3 one click root that I already have installed on my Android 2.3.3 Droid X2?

Phone Model: Nec N-06C
Firmware version: 2.3.3
What I used and have installed: SuperOneClick and SDK manager installed According to the thread from previous asking for the root method for N-04C, I tried to use SuperOneClick to root my phone, and the program actually stucks everytime like the pic...whenever I hit ROOT or SHELL ROOT.
if the picture does not show up...it is just saying
Description ADB cmd type time Result
Killing ADB server KillServer 3.76s
Starting ADB server Startserver 4.62s *daemon not running. starting it...
It does not proceed any further after showing [Starting ADB server] and the whole program just freezes.

So I am trying to root my phone and the trackball will not click. Knowing there is a known issue with the trackball, I go to VZW and they send me a new one, except that one has touch screen issues. Is there any way to get the trackball to click again? Tried basic troubleshooting, cleaned it etc.

I had a droid rooted and now I'm finally going to root my X. I was going to use the one click root because I honestly just don't want to deal with a lot of hassle. I read that the universal one click root doesn't work if I am already running Froyo. Is there a one click option that I can use?

We need one click root for the droid! I know it's pretty easy already to root, but the one click root installs the nandroid and all the other stuff that scares people off (including me) to root. That would increase the DROID rooting community by so much I think. A developer should create a one click root apk. right before android 2.1 where it roots your DROID (like it did for the G1 and others) and installs all the necessary stuff along with you just having to then install the ROM right after. I don't know, it is just a thought.That is what made the G1 and Mytouch3g community grow so quickly...what do you guys think?!

I need someone with an unrooted LG Ally to test my 2 Click Root scripts. This is for Mac users only. Please Direct Message me or message me on twitter @northmendo if you are interested in testing. If all goes well I will release to the public asap. Also it helps if you already have adb configured but I can help with that if you don't.

I am trying to install the 1click root but it is not working. It shows my phone connected but then restarts the phone to make sure the push will work. When my phone restarts it tries to push everything during the restart and of course it does not show my phone connected anymore.

For those wanting to root, you may want to wait for unRevoked 3.2. It is supposed to be 1-click root and requires no downgrading.

I tried the one click root on my fascinate. It was successful and the phone rebooted. After it started up, it kept making noise like it was ringing and wouldn't stop. Also now when I send texts, it will send them but it wont show them in the screen. Also the browser says page not available and every time I download from the market it says download failed. Also I have no 3G connection and time is wrong.

when I click on one item in the ListView that item's background changes to light gray, but when I continue to scroll through the list every 4th item has the background changed to light gray even though those other items have not been clicked. How do I make only the item I clicked be effected by the click?
ListView lv = (ListView) findViewById(R.id.resultsList);
lv.setAdapter(new ArrayAdapter(this, R.layout.resultitem, (String[])labelList.toArray(new String[labelList.size()])));
lv.setOnItemClickListener(new OnItemClickListener() {
public void onItemClick(AdapterView parent, View view, int position, long id) {
TextView tv = (TextView)view.findViewById(R.id.result);
tv.setBackgroundColor(Color.LTGRAY);
tv.setTextColor(Color.BLACK);

I have a ListView in my Activity. I am trying to catch both a click and a long click (which should bring up a context menu).
ListView lv = (ListView) findViewById(R.id.MyListView); ... lv.setOnItemClickListener(this); lv.setOnCreateContextMenuListener(this); ...
I notice that if I have both the click and long click listeners up, I won't ever get the long click listener (i.e. the context menu). If I remove the setOnItemClickListener() call, i get a call into
@Override public void onCreateContextMenu(ContextMenu menu, View v, ContextMenu.ContextMenuInfo menuInfo) {

I have just started my career as an android programmer, and am currently relying heavily on the sample code and api examples. I have been working with this api example, to produce an expandable list of items (note this example does not use the ExpadableListView).In playing with the example, I tried to add another widget that would become visible and be gone at the same time as the text (mDialogue in the sample code). This works well with another TextView, but as soon as I tried to add a button widget, it stopped working. The list would expand on first click, showing my hidden TextView and Button, but it will not disappear on further clicks. The button is however, clickable, and I was able to set up an onClick listener to change the button text back and forth.I'm starting to wonder, is it just not possible to have a clickable item inside a clickable list item? Or is there some kind of work around? Would it solve my problem if I used ExpandableListView?

I've recently started exploring the possibility of rooting my Desire. A combination of the device's low internal storage capacity and a bit more freedom in general has lead me to this conclusion.However, I'm not sure I have the balls or patience to follow one the guides which seem to involve a lot of technical stuff.I'd basically like to be able to store all my apps on the SD Card and have the ability to remove some of the bloatware. Everthing else can remain the same with regards to HTC Sense etc. I've read about these one-click rooting apps, and these seem like something I would be more confident doing eg. less chance of me making a mistake etc. Do they work? If so, why do people opt for the longer method of rooting?

Now when I click on GDE and click the home button, it switches back to the stock Home screen. How to I switch the settings now to set the GDE app as the new home screen?
