I just bought the captivate on the 15th and was wondering how you get to the root menu from boot up so I can run the one click lag fix app.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIve been trying all day to boot into the recovery menu for my vibrant. I power off my phone . and i hold up and down on the volume button, while holding the power button. After i see the "vibrant" logo pop up i let go. that doesnt work. I try holding down Up and Down, while holding the power button for 5 minutes, doest work .
View 6 Replies View RelatedI tried flashing my Galaxy S, but when i turned it on, it stayed on the boot menu for 10 minutes and nothing happened, so i had to remove the battery. I tired putting it in download mode and it didnt work eiter. When i plugged in the usb, it showed the charging icon with the loading sign, however the loading sign did not go away, again I had to remove the battery. What is wrong with my Galaxy S, and what can I do to fix it?

When my phone restarts it tries to push everything during the restart and of course it does not show my phone connected anymore.

The program claims to work on un-rooted phones (though mine is rooted).My girlfriend's Captivate is not rooted though so I will test this out on her phone as well to confirm it. Check it out though. I've already gone to town with this and it works great.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI tried the one click root on my fascinate. It was successful and the phone rebooted. After it started up, it kept making noise like it was ringing and wouldn't stop. Also now when I send texts, it will send them but it wont show them in the screen. Also the browser says page not available and every time I download from the market it says download failed. Also I have no 3G connection and time is wrong.

View 15 Replies View RelatedWhen I open contacts app, i see four options at the top : contacts, groups, history and activities. I have successfully linked my facebook contacts and calendar through SNS setting option (automatically syncs every 1 hour). When i click on the activities menu at the top, I could see all facebook updates in there. Works like a charm. Just one question. Select a particular contact (who also has a facebook account) from the contacts list. You will see four options again: Info, History, Acitivities and Media. When i click on Info i see all the contact information like phone number, email address, Linked contacts, and facebook link under web address. When i click on History, I see all the calls made and received to and from this contact. When i click Acitivities, I just see Link Contact Option and don't see anything else eventhough i have linked my facebook through SNS setting. Also, the media is empty and how do i add one?

Free in the Market.Go to Dropbox - Home - Online backup, file sync and sharing made easy. and download that to your computer. Sign up for it, it is cloud based file sharing. It's awesome, I use it every day. Already a user, great.On your pc, go download the root update file here: SGH-I897 Root Update.zip - File Shared from Box.net - Free Online File Storage Rename it to update.zipOpen up your dropbox and put it in the "public" folder.Now on your Captivate, open up dropbox and sign in.Open the public folder and tap the file "update.zip" to download it.Now open up Linda file manager.Tap "SD card", open the folder "dropbox". open "public", then tap and hold "update.zip". Just got my captivate and have one problem. Sometimes when touching the haptic menu button (first from left), i get a double vibration. Like it senses my first touch but vibrates second time right away. I do not get this constantly. But it happens all the time when i first touch the home button then the menu button. Does not happen with any other button.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI woke up today to see that my phone was locked up. I removed the battery and let it reboot, it goes back to the lock screen I have, shows the time/cell status. And then it immediately locks up. I'm able to get it into recovery mode and I wiped the cache, but no dice. I don't want to reset the data because I have some important sms messages that I'd like to back up, but I can't access the data folder in recovery mode it seems.
Is there a way to backup the data folder in recovery mode? Or another way to get the phone to not freeze on startup? I'm assuming something just got corrupt. I am able to connect to it via ADB in recovery mode just fine, but can't pull my data directory or use the su commands (permission denied). Phone is stock, except I did root it.
I saw a sweet boot sequence posted on. I believe XDA or Android Central, but for the motorola droid X. I got the file, tried to locate a boot animtion file to replace the new boot animation with, and it isn't there. They have a samsung boot and samsung boot repeat. I renamed both of them to bkp files and placed the new boot animation.zip in there(what they did with the motorola). I couldn't get it to work. Anyone know how to get rid of the Galaxy S and replace with other boot animations?
