Android :: Office Documents Handling / Syncing To Google Docs?

Oct 21, 2009

I'm considering switching to an Android device after using Windows Mobile for years and years... the new Droid from Verizon really looks impressive and I'm not real high on some of the new Windows Mobile devices coming out.One of my needs though will be to read, edit, and save 2007 Office documents. However, I'd also like to have my documents auotsync'd with Google Docs. Is something like this possible?

Today you can get "Documents to go" for $5.55 (Normally $29.95) but I am not really sure what I would gain over the included Quickoffice ap. I could be wrong but I believe quick office is read only while documents to go allows editing.Anyone else know the difference?

Android :: How Get Documents To PC / MS Office 2007 Work With DTG?

Aug 14, 2010

I was going to hold out for DTG 3.0 but think that I really need this program. Also, I just read on DTG's site that the upgrade to 3.0 will be free. The unknown is when and if 3.0 will ever come out. Anyways, being not too familiar with DTG I have a few questions:
1.How do I get documents to and from my PC? Do I have to email back and forth? If I create a document on my PC and want to take it on the road to edit it how do I get it to my Droid Incredible for editing and then back to my desktop for printing, ect?
2.I use MS Office 2007 on my PC will this work with DTG?
3.What are some overall impressions of how this app actually works?

HTC Droid Eris :: 2.1 Almost Worked Except For Office Docs

May 17, 2010

My upgrade to 2.1 (Eris) went smoothly, except for this:

Opening Quick office gives me a message: "No files were found on your SD card"
I can see all the files such as pdf, .doc ,excel, etc via file manager and the files are ok as I took them off the phone and they work fine on my laptop.

When I try to open the files on the SD card, the following error message appears:
"android.content activitynotfoundexception: No activity found to Handle intent{act=android.intent.action. VIEW dat=file:///sdcard/downloads/name of my file

All other files on SD are fine (photos/videos). Verizon tech support did a master reset. Same result. Verizon tech left a voice message later saying they would keep trying to reach HTC.

Samsung Fascinate :: Printing Office Documents To Network Printer?

Oct 18, 2010

I am looking for a way to print Office Documents from my phone. I have a WiFi printer. Currently using OfficeSuite Pro. But it has no printing provision that I can discover. So far my workarounds are.

1. Transferring the file from SD card to PC. Opening the file and printing from there.
2. Attach the file and email to myself. Open the attachment and print from there.

I would like to be able to send the file directly from the phone to the WiFi printer. I saw some print apps in the market, but none seemed to do Office Documents.

General :: Office Suite For Tablet That Allow To Open Multiple Documents At Once?

Jan 20, 2013

I am looking for an office suite app for android tablet that lets you open multiple documents at once, with tabs, so that I can switch between them.

I thought Kingsoft Office is supposed to do that because I read a review from PCWorld, and it said just like desktop version, it can switch between open documents with tabs. I think the review is false. I have been trying to figure out how to open multiple documents with Kingsoft for HOURS, and can't figure out. I have a Galaxy tab 10.1 original with ICS.

So if I'm correct and Kingsoft does not have this feature, any office suite app that lets you open multiple docs at once? Doesn't have to be free. I just need a decent one that have this feature. I only need it for viewing docs anyway.

Android :: GooMemo Now Syncs With Google Docs Of Particular Interest

Jun 25, 2010

I've just downloaded the latest update for GooMemo. Great news - it now will sync with Google Documents!GooMemo - Android Notes application. The developer had originally planned that this would be part of a paid-for premium version, but very kindly he has released it for free. For those of us Palm refugees who miss having memos synced between handheld and desktop I think this is the only application that does it properly. I haven't played with it very much yet, but it seems to work very well. In Google Documents all your memos are put into a spreadsheet with a different sheet for each category and each memo on its own row. This is maybe not the prettiest of options, but it makes it all very transparent, and easy to export your notes in CSV form if you want to move them elsewhere. The only slight irritation I've had is that it won't remember my Gmail password and I have to rekey it each time I want to sync.
