On my droid x quik office works great to automatically open word and pdf docs. The issue I am having is that once I have downloaded a document I have no way to save it and i can't find it later. I can't find the saved documents or the quick office application anywhere on my phone.

Today you can get "Documents to go" for $5.55 (Normally $29.95) but I am not really sure what I would gain over the included Quickoffice ap. I could be wrong but I believe quick office is read only while documents to go allows editing.Anyone else know the difference?
Ignoring price, what one is better functionality wise? Quickoffice came preinstalled on my Dinc, don't know if thats a gimped version or not.

View 17 Replies View RelatedI was going to hold out for DTG 3.0 but think that I really need this program. Also, I just read on DTG's site that the upgrade to 3.0 will be free. The unknown is when and if 3.0 will ever come out. Anyways, being not too familiar with DTG I have a few questions:
1.How do I get documents to and from my PC? Do I have to email back and forth? If I create a document on my PC and want to take it on the road to edit it how do I get it to my Droid Incredible for editing and then back to my desktop for printing, ect?
2.I use MS Office 2007 on my PC will this work with DTG?
3.What are some overall impressions of how this app actually works?
I'm considering switching to an Android device after using Windows Mobile for years and years... the new Droid from Verizon really looks impressive and I'm not real high on some of the new Windows Mobile devices coming out.One of my needs though will be to read, edit, and save 2007 Office documents. However, I'd also like to have my documents auotsync'd with Google Docs. Is something like this possible?

There are a lot of apps, like motocast, which enable me to access all my files on my Mac remotely via my Razr. But I don't know of a way of editing this document and then saving it back to the mac.
When I DL a pdf file as an attachment to an email, Quickoffice opens it and lets me read it. When I use the OIFileManager I can see the pdf file in the downloads folder on my SD card and it is displayed with a Quickoffice icon. Clicking on the file launches the Quickoffice pdf viewer. When I look on the home menu I cannot find a Quickoffice icon. Where is quickoffice- is it integrated into android OS? I need to search text and/or pdf files for specific text- example: ADA procedure codes for dentistry. I have a list in both pdf and text format but can't find a way to search it for "crown".Is there an app (maybe a part of Quickoffice?) that will search for and highlight text in a text or pdf file?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a way to print Office Documents from my phone. I have a WiFi printer. Currently using OfficeSuite Pro. But it has no printing provision that I can discover. So far my workarounds are.
1. Transferring the file from SD card to PC. Opening the file and printing from there.
2. Attach the file and email to myself. Open the attachment and print from there.
I would like to be able to send the file directly from the phone to the WiFi printer. I saw some print apps in the market, but none seemed to do Office Documents.
I am looking for an office suite app for android tablet that lets you open multiple documents at once, with tabs, so that I can switch between them.
I thought Kingsoft Office is supposed to do that because I read a review from PCWorld, and it said just like desktop version, it can switch between open documents with tabs. I think the review is false. I have been trying to figure out how to open multiple documents with Kingsoft for HOURS, and can't figure out. I have a Galaxy tab 10.1 original with ICS.
So if I'm correct and Kingsoft does not have this feature, any office suite app that lets you open multiple docs at once? Doesn't have to be free. I just need a decent one that have this feature. I only need it for viewing docs anyway.
From an attachment in an email I tried to view a 2007 MS Word Doc. Quickoffice started to download the document but stopped and said that it could not download it. Does Quickoffice work with Word 07 (I am using the HTC INcredible)? Also, how can I now delete this file that could not be opened?

However, my service also needs to know the location of the device, and I found that using getLastKnownLocation does not suffice as the location tends to be drastically outdated. I then tried adding a location listener, and requested location updates as frequently as possible, but then it could still take minutes before any location event was fired. So, now I have it running as a standard background service but I really don't like that approach. Is it possible to force a location fix within limited given that the circumstances enable acquiring a fix at all?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm developing a mapping app using Eclipse 3.5.I'm setting the minimum update period with the LocationManager's requestLocationUpdates method, via a configuration activity. When I set the property I see in Logcat that the system process sets the value OK.When I actually send a new location from the DDMS emulator control and the location changes on the map view, I see that the system process then sets the minimum time to zero.Below is a capture of the system's log messages. You can see that I'm setting the period to 32 seconds, then 16, then, after I've sent a simulated location change the system sets it to zero.The map responds to location changes to location changes instantly even if they are sent only a couple of seconds apart.
