On the Blackberry, they have autotext that allows you to expand text. You can customize it so for example "mtg" will expand to "meeting". There is also some macro code that replaces your phone number, etc. Is there any app that does text replacement / expansion on the Droid?

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe Android Applications forum keeps misleading me because people talk about apps and features that aren't available in Android 1.5, so I thought I'd ask the other Moment owners about home replacement apps. I think I'd like something, but I'm really hesitant to pay for one that I may not like, and I also worry that I'd not really understand all I could do with one and therefore not truly appreciate it.
I've also seen very mixed reviews on nearly every home replacement app.
So I'm curious about the opinions of other Moment owners on these home replacement apps and also if there are any good places for thorough information on them.
I've seen bettercut just wondering if there is any other ones out there. What's every one think.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been playing around with Home++ lately and have really been liking the feel of this home replacement. Currently I'm using DxTop and while I am really impressed with it as well, I feel like changing it up a bit.
I'm just wondering if having both of them installed on my phone is going to kill the battery faster, make it lag, or generally cause any issues with normal phone operation. Also, if I select to use one of them as my default home screen, does it automatically stop the other one or will I have two home replacements running at once?
We all know the buttons are missing.. but are there any apps that could add widgets to the home screens? Or a home replacement?

Re signed into my google account.Went to market, went to my downloads, saw large list of my apps that should have been downloaded. Went to bed. Woke up this morning, and none of my apps are on my home button.Went back to market, has about 2/3 of my apps saying 'starting download', another 1/3 saying 'installing'.But this has been 8 hours and nothing is actually installed. If I go to an app that says starting download, I can cancel it, then hit install button, and it installs. But I don't want to do this for like 30 apps if I don't have to.Also have tried a reboot, but so far, nothing better.I am connected to home wifi, so good speed. Before I got replacement phone I wiped my bad phone to see if it would help, and apps came back within an hour.

In my project i am having rich text editor options to apply for the edit text view. In that i applied font color,font names,font size options for user.But these options will apply for whole text available in edit text. But my problem is i want to apply user selected settings (like font color,size,font) for user selected text instead of Whole text. i want to apply the user selected font/color/size to the user selected text.How?

When Trying to use voice to text, for an e-mail, text, pretty much anything i get a "connection problem"

Does anyone else have this problem? After I search the market for apps and then return to my home screen, or any other screen, some text will remain on the bottom of the screen. I've gone back to a Z22 since my TX died in under a year and Palm refused to honor the warranty because my wife bought it as a gift. The Z22 will be my last PalmOS device, even if I have to go back to paper, I have well defined requirements:I have no interest at this time in a data plan; just want to use it offline and by wifi. My hot buttons are robust calendar (DateBk3 user for the last decade), robust addressbook (the HTC one is a joke and the Motorola ones can't be previewed on the non-function store displays), java-equipped browser to support local TiddlyWiki files, and sync data to Linux (PCLOS) for backup. The ability to migrate data from the Palm would be a big plus.I have not bought a device yet since the electronics dealers in my area (USA-MD) won't sell you one without the data plan. I don't care whether it is also used for a phone - irrelevant to me. There are going to be 50 hours a week when it will sit in my car in the parking lot (alongside laptop, mp3 player, camera and phone) since those are banned from my employer's buildings.I tried to look at the Archos device, but the store unit didn't work. I'd appreciate both hardware and software recommendations. You can't see alternative apps in the Marketplace unless you first have a device - and I won't buy hardware without first knowing what software is available. They don't make it easy!
