Android :: Any Text Apps With NO Bubbles?
Jan 22, 2010I am looking for an alternate texting app. I have looked at Handcent and Chompsms, but both seem to use the "bubbles" look when viewing messages. Are there any that use something different?

What happens on the Nexus when you want to enter text into a bubble on a web page or in the calender app while in landscape mode?On the Droid, if I'm in Calender, and I add a new event and use the virtual keyboard in landscape mode, the only way to see what the box actually is and what the next box will be, is to use the physical keyboard. If I'm using the virtual keyboard, I just get a box, and a key that says "next" to the right. It makes entering data more difficult (you're not sure what field you're filling out and what the next field will be).I'm one of the guys that was waiting for the Passion and got the Droid because I had to switch to Verizon. The way the Android OS seems to be setup, a physical keyboard almost seems necessary to make certain tasks easier.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I recently got a set of screen protectors and put one on.All was well just noticed a few bubbles and so I tried to work them out. They weren't going away, so I figured I would try again so I removed it and to my astonishment the bubbles were still there. It's like they formed under the screen somehow when I put the protector on, they were absolutely not there before. There are 2 in the center of the screen and a few along the edges. At first I just thought it was a water spot but I cannot wipe them off.The ones on the edge of the screen I can"push out" to the edge to almost make them disappear. When you touch them with the pads of your fingers you can feel a slight "bump" in the screen (very minute but still there). They bubbles are easily visible when the screen is off and almost go away when the screen is on but you can still tell they are there. Is this a defect in the phone or did I cause this trying to install the protector? I didn't push down hard on the screen, just applied the protector and they appeared.

I would like to have a simple share button on the final activity so they can share the results (or even a simple text field) with apps that accept it (email, mms, twitter, etc..). I did some reading on ContentProviders but the more I read, the more I'm thinking i'm heading down the wrong path.

Does anyone else have this problem? After I search the market for apps and then return to my home screen, or any other screen, some text will remain on the bottom of the screen. It's basically the various word suggestions from my previous search. Note, I am using Better Keyboard. Not sure if this is a BK bug or not.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a gallery widget and in that i had a view with linear layout which has a edit text inside. When it launches on device the edittext box shows but has no text visible.
However when i scroll to next view in gallery it shows text and when it comes to focus and centered the text disappears.
If i replace gallery with grid or a horizontal view I can see the text on edit text.
