I see plenty of apps that will forward sms messages from one phone to another... but does anyone know of any that will do that PLUS let me reply from the 2nd phone and have it sent to the original sender's phone number? With the simple forwarding feature, if I reply ... it goes back to my Droid and not the sender of the text

I also know that blocking an incoming phone call is not possible yet and is an issue Google devs are working on.In the app i'm coding, I easily manage to detect an incoming phone call by listening to the phone state. But I cant make the phone NOT ring and NOT show the incoming phone call screen.I' ve tried to cut off the network via a ServiceState object, but that doesn't seem to work.

View 1 Replies View Related I am a longtime iPhone user and I have recently been given a Samsung Galaxy S3 by my employer. In the past I have just used my old Android phone for Tethering with FoxFi so I can have web access at work on my laptop. I literally never made any phone calls with it for over 2 years. I have had the calls forwarded from my Verizon Android phone to my ATT iPhone since the day I got it.
Currently I have a (PERSONAL) iPhone 4 on AT&T with a 3G connection and I have this (WORK CELL) Samsung Galaxy 3 on Verizon 4G LTE.
I would like the ability to fully test out the S3 and leave the iPhone at home if I so choose. Call forwarding either way is not a problem at all. I can forward my iPhone personal calls to my work cell and I can forward my work cell calls to my iPhone (Currently this is how I have it). Call forwarding works great but I am looking for a way to handle text messages in a similar manner.
I would like to have the ability to send and receive text messages using my personal number from my Android Phone. I have Google Voice installed on both phones but I cant seem to get it to work at all or I am not setting it up correctly. I would not mind having texts show up on both devices or in my Gmail inbox. There has to be a way to do this. That way if I leave either phone at home it not a big deal I don't have to carry two phones. Nobody ever texts my work number, my only texts received are to my personal cell.
Is there someway for me to forward my outlook calendar through Google to sync with the droid calendar my work wont let me exchange or install the droid to my computer for privacy reasons, but i can automatically forward my emails and everything to an external account. if i setup a new gmail for my work, can i set that calendar up to worth with my droid.

I'm considering the Wireless Extender ($249 - ouch), but until I make that call, I've been manually forwarding my cell phone to my home phone line.
Question: would there be a way to set up a script or functionality that would tell the Droid to forward to home when in dock and un-forward when taken out of the dock. Might be kinda cool. I think one of the mobile companies used to sell a dock that did just this in the early 2000s.

Does Android have support for apps that you can use to password protect certain apps on the phone? Like messages, and photos for more private stuff. Another question I have: is the Captivates reception really bad? I currently have the iPhone 4 while it doesn't have the best of signal, its not too bad either. And my last question is if the captivate has support for 32gb cards. I'm sorry if someones already gone over these but I could find anything right away. But i'm not getting success doing this. I'm doing emulator -vm myconfig -qemu -redir udp:1234::1234 or emulator -vm myconfig -qemu -redir udp:1234:<my ip here>:1234 and both starts the emulator with the warning "qemu: could not set up redirection 'udp:1234::1234' " or "qemu: could not set up redirection 'udp:1234:<my ip here>:1234' "Please, what i'm doing wrong? any successfull case? thanks a lot P.S - i already compiled SDK 1.5 and it's working perfectly

I have built my application against API1.6 and set <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="4" android:targetSdkVersion="4" /> Everything was fine until I wanted to run the app on Android 2.0. Not only is People deprecated it actually doesn't even work! So, I have changed the API I'm compiling against API2.0 and do the OS version check in my code and use People provider or ContactsContract accordingly. I still keep <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="4" android:targetSdkVersion="4" /> so I can target 1.6 devices. Now when I want to debug in Eclipse it insists on running it on 2.0 emulator. How can I tell Eclipse that I really want to debug on 1.6 emulator? I have installed my APK on 1.6 emulator via the browser. It installed fine, but when I want to use People provider it crashes. I need to be able to debug it.

I was told by Verizon that the phone might do it after some further updates. What is the real deal here. Will 2.1 fix this? I went back to my 2 year blackberry becaue the email was far more reliable and I could forward whatever came in with the emails I got.
