View 1 Replieshow to forward a text, using either default or Handcent, and get it to show who it was forwarded from? Handcent just copy/pastes the message, while default message app just puts "FWD:" before it. doesn't really forward it like my old dumbphones.
View 1 Replies View RelatedCan anyone tell me how i can forward a text msg from Handcent?
On my SE W995 I just click forward and tick the recipients (easy)
But can't seem to find this on this app
when the stock Messaging app wasn't cutting it, I installed Handcent. But it started flaking out on me, so I dumped it and went to the more-reliable chompSMS.I liked it a lot.But to be completely honest, I missed some of the features of Handcent. But reliability is Job 1, so I kept chompSMS for a few weeks. Then I heard that Handcent received a major update a few days ago, so I replaced chompSMS with Handcent. So far so good. I got all the features back, and I haven't had one single issue in days of texting. So if you're like me and you left Handcent for chompSMS, you may want to give the new version a spin.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI see plenty of apps that will forward sms messages from one phone to another... but does anyone know of any that will do that PLUS let me reply from the 2nd phone and have it sent to the original sender's phone number? With the simple forwarding feature, if I reply ... it goes back to my Droid and not the sender of the text
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an app that uses People provider. This is deprecated in version 2.0. I have built my application against API1.6 and set <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="4" android:targetSdkVersion="4" /> Everything was fine until I wanted to run the app on Android 2.0. Not only is People deprecated it actually doesn't even work! So, I have changed the API I'm compiling against API2.0 and do the OS version check in my code and use People provider or ContactsContract accordingly. I still keep <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="4" android:targetSdkVersion="4" /> so I can target 1.6 devices. Now when I want to debug in Eclipse it insists on running it on 2.0 emulator. How can I tell Eclipse that I really want to debug on 1.6 emulator? I have installed my APK on 1.6 emulator via the browser. It installed fine, but when I want to use People provider it crashes. I need to be able to debug it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI returned my Droid some time ago because I could not forward customer blueprints and inquiries on ot my plants. The files were imp. tif. jpg. excel and word. I was told by Verizon that the phone might do it after some further updates. What is the real deal here. Will 2.1 fix this? I went back to my 2 year blackberry becaue the email was far more reliable and I could forward whatever came in with the emails I got. Is Android not ready for the business market yet, or have things changed since the Droid intro.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm working on an application that requires support for forward locking of media files on Android (1.6 and above). Of course, there appears to be no documentation in the APIs on how this might work. The two questions I have are firstly whether forward locking is supported on Android (and in which versions of the platform) and secondly how to implement it in a program that, for example, downloads DRMed ringtones and wallpapers.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen a phone is advertised/rumored to have a forward/front facing camera, does this automatically mean this is a secondary camera to a standard outward facing one? Or, has it ever meant that the ONLY camera on the phone faced the front? That can't be. Can it?

It means as in Blackberry if develop an Application with JDE 4.2 then that application will work on any handset with OS 4.2 or higher which means it has forward compatibility. Is there anything similar in Android? Suppose I develop application with Android SDK 1.5 then will that application work on any handset having OS 1.5 or higher.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen in the messaging app, and in text message conversations I am having many issues. 1st issue: conversations or "threads" as it is put are seperated, which I like this option, but it also makes it an issue. I am unable to forward any messages I receive.
attachments in messages are not accessable, or able to be saved. I can not save photos, video, music, files ect. I can not set any attachments as ringtones, screen savers, backgrounds. And I can not forward any of the information that is included in a text. I have become very frustrated with the Droid, I thought this was a great phone but seems for the pricetag and hype, I am unable to do less with it as simple functions that I had on my previous phone the LG Chocolate. I can not save anything I receive, and I also can not send any of my music files or recordings as an attachment.
I may not have this whole Droid thing figured out, but I dont want it to take me a month to figure it out. And it seems like I am going past my "Worry Free" period of time. I was unable to save many of my items from old phone to Droid, and that was a bother. But the text messaging is my biggest complaint, I liked the ability to save sounds, forwards sounds photos ect. And I can not do this now with the Droid, is there a way to fix this issue?
Just thought I would share a little information I have found with my fellow Droid owners. This guide will allow you to (freely) forward your Yahoo! email to a newly created (or old) Gmail Account for easier integration with your Droid (or other Android Devices) without paying the $20 a month Yahoo! requires for premium service. First create your Gmail account if you do not already have one.
Also I am coming from the "New Yahoo"
Step 1: Sign into Yahoo Mail
Step 2: Click options on the upper right hand corner of your screen. Select to switch to Yahoo Mail Classic
Step 3: In the top left hand corner is your name. Highlight it and select "Account Info". It will ask you to put your password in again.
Step 4: Under Account Setting click "Set language, site, time-zone."
Step:5 Click New Setting and change it to Yahoo! Asia. Also accept the new Terms of Agreement.
You should now see a Yahoo! Asia logo on your homescreen.
We can now enable POP access and Email Forwarding without the $20 a normal member would pay.
Step 6: Click options again in the top right hand corner. Then Mail Options.
Step 7: On the left of the screen select POP and Forwarding. Then Set up or edit Pop and Forwarding.
Step 8: Click the bubble next to forwarding and enter in your new gmail account. Click Save.
Step 9: Send Verification
Step 10: Go to your gmail and grab the confirmation code and go back to the Yahoo! and enter. Enter password again.
I've been searching around the net and browsingthe APIs to find a way to forward an incoming phone call to voice mail, but with no success so far.I know it can be done since some apps do it already. I also know that blocking an incoming phone call is not possible yet and is an issue Google devs are working on.In the app i'm coding, I easily manage to detect an incoming phone call by listening to the phone state. But I cant make the phone NOT ring and NOT show the incoming phone call screen.I' ve tried to cut off the network via a ServiceState object, but that doesn't seem to work.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a content provider where the key contains forward slash "/". I searched about it for quite a while but there is no place/example illustrating it.
content://com.lily.provider/items/*
General example, which I understand:
content://com.lily.provider/items/ab
What I want to do: my key is a string with "/" content://com.lily.provider/items/a/b where a/b is the item id, which is in the same position as ab. will content://com.lily.provider/items/a/b be matched to content://com.lily.provider/items/* ? why is that? are there any work-around I could use to solve the problem
Why is that the object has to be serialized or be Parcelable in order to be passed to an Intent ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just want to simply forward a text message to an email address (preferably using my default gmail account). How can I do this? I've tried with both the default messaging app and handcent. Both have a forward feature, but it only works to forward to another phone #. Best phone ever.I have managed to find pretty all applications I need but there is one I really missing. When arrive home I am always redirect all incomg calls to my landline and do so by All call forwarding. It happens quite often that I forgets to inactivate this feature when leaving for work and all calls will then be redirected to my home and ofcourse none will answer.I'm looking for an application that identifies my WLAN and then automaticly redirects all calls to my landline and then when signal is lost, remove the redirect. It would also work for me if the application use the radio tower as a reference or via GPS-tracker.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm using a WebViewClient that overrides shouldOverrideUrlLoading so the browsing stays inside the WebView. I initially call loadDataWithBaseURL with some HTML I have in memory, which has links in it. When I click the links, they load correctly in the webView. Everything is good up till now, but when I press back, effectively calling webView.goBack(), the webView loads the failUrl I passed to loadDataWithBaseURL. Why does it work going forward, but not going backward?
