View 3 Replies View Related I am a longtime iPhone user and I have recently been given a Samsung Galaxy S3 by my employer. In the past I have just used my old Android phone for Tethering with FoxFi so I can have web access at work on my laptop. I literally never made any phone calls with it for over 2 years. I have had the calls forwarded from my Verizon Android phone to my ATT iPhone since the day I got it.
Currently I have a (PERSONAL) iPhone 4 on AT&T with a 3G connection and I have this (WORK CELL) Samsung Galaxy 3 on Verizon 4G LTE.
I would like the ability to fully test out the S3 and leave the iPhone at home if I so choose. Call forwarding either way is not a problem at all. I can forward my iPhone personal calls to my work cell and I can forward my work cell calls to my iPhone (Currently this is how I have it). Call forwarding works great but I am looking for a way to handle text messages in a similar manner.
I would like to have the ability to send and receive text messages using my personal number from my Android Phone. I have Google Voice installed on both phones but I cant seem to get it to work at all or I am not setting it up correctly. I would not mind having texts show up on both devices or in my Gmail inbox. There has to be a way to do this. That way if I leave either phone at home it not a big deal I don't have to carry two phones. Nobody ever texts my work number, my only texts received are to my personal cell.
I am X10 owner but can anyone tell me how to save text messages that come in to my phone. This phone is nowhere as simple as an old nokia or SE. Also how do I forward messages that I receive. Don't mind saving them on the phone memory or SD card but need to be able to get to them and ensure they are in folders - inbox, sent items etc.
View 9 Replies View RelatedOnce again, I must do a hard reset on my Samsung Moment. I love and hate this phone! My calls started randomly going directly to voice mail, then they all went directly to voice mail. Yesterday I couldn't make or receive any calls! They got that fixed today with a reprogram process, BUT, now I cannot connect to the Internet!
How do I forward/save, whatever, my text messages? Can I save them somehow to the SD card and remove it? Can I forward them to my email (without using the Internet?).
I have the messaging program that is standard, plus I use Chomp SMS mainly.
When in the messaging app, and in text message conversations I am having many issues. 1st issue: conversations or "threads" as it is put are seperated, which I like this option, but it also makes it an issue. I am unable to forward any messages I receive.
attachments in messages are not accessable, or able to be saved. I can not save photos, video, music, files ect. I can not set any attachments as ringtones, screen savers, backgrounds. And I can not forward any of the information that is included in a text. I have become very frustrated with the Droid, I thought this was a great phone but seems for the pricetag and hype, I am unable to do less with it as simple functions that I had on my previous phone the LG Chocolate. I can not save anything I receive, and I also can not send any of my music files or recordings as an attachment.
I may not have this whole Droid thing figured out, but I dont want it to take me a month to figure it out. And it seems like I am going past my "Worry Free" period of time. I was unable to save many of my items from old phone to Droid, and that was a bother. But the text messaging is my biggest complaint, I liked the ability to save sounds, forwards sounds photos ect. And I can not do this now with the Droid, is there a way to fix this issue?
Does anyone know how one can forward sms messages that are sent to me to my contacts?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just want to simply forward a text message to an email address (preferably using my default gmail account). How can I do this? I've tried with both the default messaging app and handcent. Both have a forward feature, but it only works to forward to another phone #. I found a few apps that claim to automatically forward incoming texts to an email but that isn't what I want either.

View 2 Replies View Relatedhow to forward a text, using either default or Handcent, and get it to show who it was forwarded from? Handcent just copy/pastes the message, while default message app just puts "FWD:" before it. doesn't really forward it like my old dumbphones.

On my SE W995 I just click forward and tick the recipients (easy)
But can't seem to find this on this app
Sorry for the newb question. Of course you can tap in the right spot, but that is not very accurate. The d-pad on the hard keyboard works of course, but what about on the soft keyboard?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Xperia now 8 days old. Its an upgrade from 3. Its proving to be the worse phone I have ever had!! The battery life is terrible, fully charged yet went off half way through my shift? What I am have been having major problems with and cant figure it out for the life of me is how to forward a text and delete a draft message? I just cant figure it out! Forward a message? how do I access the names or the phonebook? theres always only the contact that sent me the text in the first place or one i use frequently. and i have a draft i cant get rid of unless i send the **** thing. this phone is so frustrating to me because texting and facebook are my main objectives when purchasing a phone. facebook: when i tap on notifications it tells me constantly there is an error. now i told the salesman in the shop what the main uses of my mobile are and so far I am extremely disappointed with this mobile phone, i have been mis-sold! Can someone please put me out my misery so I can appreciate this little phone a bit more!

View 30 Replies View RelatedHow do I stop the text messages from popping up on the screen and scrolling across the top of the screen when they come in?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI did attempt to use the search feature here but didnt come up with the results I was looking for (or maybe I used it wrong?) I ask the following questions because unfortunately, I dont have good eyesight.
1. Regarding font size. I realize there is no current setting for font size on this phone (that I know of) does anyone here know if the upcoming 2.1 update will include that?
2. I know there is a text size option for the browser. However, it doesent seem to work on most websites I go to (like CNN for example) I try setting it at different sizes and nada. So far my browsing experience hasent been that good because of this (having to constantly strain my eyes looking at website text) Any tips on why the text size option doesent seem to work?
3. is there anyway to increase the text size of emails and text messages?
If I need to paste text from another app in my Android phone (Samsung Galaxy SII, O2, Jelly Bean), like from Google Keep or Docs, into a text message it tends to convert from an SMS to MMS. This leads to a charge for me as my SMS messages are included in my tariff but I have no allowance for MMS messages. I presume that this might be something to do with character encoding or other formatting data that is pasted in, but that is only a guess.
Is there any way to stop short messages from being converted to MMS messages like this:? I couldn't find any 'paste clipboard as plain text' option in Android Jelly Bean.
I am curious, is there anyway to copy ALL text messages from the HTC Dream onto the computer.
Please take into consideration I am not the most high tech guy when answering, just looking for a semi-simple way to accomplish this.
all text messages appear to sort by thread (in other words by sender). can the droid sort by the date and time they came in? just a list of all text messages without a filter?
