I just installed ChompSMS and I have already been using Better Keyboard. I type in vertical mode using t9 and the smiley face has always been there in the bottom right corner (while using default messaging application)
Now I installed ChompSMS and can't get the smiley face back, right now it is an Enter arrow. I have a Droid if that matters.

This may be a little odd but I'm sure my first Droid had a button on the on the onscreen keyboard that had the smiley face on it.When you hit it it may a little android smiley face in the text area.My new Droid doesn't have this on it.or am I just losing my mind?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using an LG Nexus 4 device with the stock Android keyboard. When texting, composing e-mails, or engaging in most functions with a keyboard, there is a smiley key on the bottom left corner next to the period. Is there any way to remove or change that key?
I use the period often, and sometimes hit that smiley key by accident. A few times in the last week, I sent serious messages and, instead of ending the sentence with a period, I ended it with a smiley. Those made for awkward moments.
By the way, I have tried Swype and SwiftKey and prefer the Android keyboard with gesture-typing. I am not interested in installing an app with a supposedly better keyboard.
Installed the XDA keyboard so I could access Speech-to-text input. Works great except that the "Hide Keyboard" button doesn't appear after I disabled the "Smiley Hack" per instructions I'd read. I never use smileys but often use the hide keyboard function.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC Magic running 1.6, but this has been happening since I've had the phone. Basically, when using the default keyboard (which, incidentally, seems tonnes better since the update - it's made me not care that HTC IME doesn't work) it'll sometimes miss usually two key presses. And the phone physically recognizes then, because they pop up above my finger, but they never appear in the text entry field. It's bizarre - does it happen to anyone else, and does anyone else know how to fix it? (Incidentally, does anyone else regularly hit the key instead of space bar by accident. It annoys the piss out of me.)

I'm wondering if the keyboard I'm using is the issue or is it just the way the Evo is. I'm using the keyboard that comes with Warm 2.2. Is there a setting I can change that would allow me to type faster (like, is this a software problem) or is this simply a limitation on the Evo's on screen kb?

Mine definitely doesn't appear to have this functionality (as observed while holding down one key and pressing another one). View 3 Replies View RelatedI had 18mb internal memory free for apps and after installing an epub reader i kept getting the message running low on memory.I uninstalled it and did a reboot and now i have 70mb free and all the existing apps are running fine.Somehow i have managed to free up a huge amount of lost space which I assume was being taken up by apps not uninstalling correctly.Either way i'm happy until froyo comes out.Just wish I knew where the memory keeps disappearing to over time.

After installation, icons for the programs don't appear in the programs list. I've confirmed they're installed, as they show up in the manage apps list. Any programs installed via the Market show up on the programs list.
My wife has just got rid of her faulty X10 and moved to the X10 mini pro.
She's very frustrated as apps are just not showing up in the market. She used Bloo all the time along with AG Newspapers UK and Flood-it (game), these were 3 of the most used apps she had but when she searches the market for them it says they are not there! I have managed to get hold of the latest Bloo beta apk and installed that and it works fine.
Any ideas why these apps do not show up? the mini pro is 320x240 so it's not a resolution problem (same res as my old G1), the apps show up on my Desire (same phone network etc) the phone was unbranded/unlocked from Expansys

Is the phone SIM registered in T-Mobile as the Correct phone? android market app is missing too, so I cannot reload the apps. The browser is working fine, videos are streaming, calls are OK, bluetooth. No google maps also.

So i had a few initial hiccups with the 2.2 update that HTC said we shouldn't have, but its stable and I'm not really complaining. I did have a question for those of us who switched though.I'm missing such things as Chrome to Phone and the 3D Gallery. I don't particularly mind, but was wondering if anyone else had the same issue. BTW, thanks for all the update info and installation help that was posted! Because of this great forum I was not only able to download the update directly to my phone, but also complete the update without a computer. Not bad for multitasking while out drinking. Couldn't have done it without the forum (not the drinking) and for that, and continued support.
