View 1 Replies View RelatedI sometimes get sms text messages from people using an iPhone which occasionally also use all sorts of specific emoticons which in android are displayed as little square boxes.Does anybody know of an app or emoticon-pack of some sort, with which these icons can also be displayed on my android phone?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am newbie to OpenGL programming. I was going through the code of API demos.I understood how to map a single image resource on to all the 6 faces of the cube,but i want to know how can i map 6 faces of the cube with 6 different images. I searched in the web without any luck.Can any one give me some ideas links , pointers on the same.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have just began opengl programming in android and i am fairly new to opengl as well. I've been using nehe's opengl tutorials as well as insanitydesign's android ports. I successfully managed to create a cube with a single texture mapped to all its 6 faces. I even mapped multiple textures to different faces of the cube.But the way I did it was to create 6 faces seperately, have 6 seperate index and texture buffers and then using glBindTexture() with the selected texture for each face and then calling glDrawElements. Isn't there an efficient way around this. Should i use a cube map texture instead of a GL_TEXTURE_2D?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWorking through some OpenGL-ES tutorials, using the Android emulator. I've gotten up to texture mapping and am having some trouble mapping to a cube. Is it possible to map a texture to all faces of a cube that has 8 vertices and 12 triangles for the 6 faces as described below?
// Use half as we are going for a 0,0,0 centre.
width /= 2;
height /= 2;
depth /= 2;
float vertices[] = { -width, -height, depth, // 0
width, -height, depth, // 1
width, height, depth, // 2......................

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using an LG Nexus 4 device with the stock Android keyboard. When texting, composing e-mails, or engaging in most functions with a keyboard, there is a smiley key on the bottom left corner next to the period. Is there any way to remove or change that key?
I use the period often, and sometimes hit that smiley key by accident. A few times in the last week, I sent serious messages and, instead of ending the sentence with a period, I ended it with a smiley. Those made for awkward moments.
By the way, I have tried Swype and SwiftKey and prefer the Android keyboard with gesture-typing. I am not interested in installing an app with a supposedly better keyboard.
I just installed ChompSMS and I have already been using Better Keyboard. I type in vertical mode using t9 and the smiley face has always been there in the bottom right corner (while using default messaging application)
Now I installed ChompSMS and can't get the smiley face back, right now it is an Enter arrow. I have a Droid if that matters.
Last week i update my s3 to jellybean 4.1 and what is happen with my smiley shortcut i used to have before ? can i get it back ? i got some picture.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI somehow activated the text to speech for incoming calls and text messages. (Says the name of contact calling/texting).How do I shut this off? I've spent days trying to figure it out with no luck.
View 5 Replies View RelatedInstalled the XDA keyboard so I could access Speech-to-text input. Works great except that the "Hide Keyboard" button doesn't appear after I disabled the "Smiley Hack" per instructions I'd read. I never use smileys but often use the hide keyboard function.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo I have the Droid X but I noticed that the Droid 2 now has a themed version of Swype to fit in with the rest of the UI. I like it a lot.
My question is this. When you push the voice-to-text button does it pop up a window like earlier versions of Swype or does it do the really fast and slick thing that the multi touch keyboard does (just replace the keyboard with the audio waveform thing).
How do i customize my droid's text messaging signature?I cant find how to do it.

View 7 Replies View Relatedwhen you click on the Text Messaging icon that your text messages lag as they appear in the display (for example, I see phone numbers first associated with each message, and then I have to wait a few seconds before names slowly pop up in place of each number)?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen driving, I'd like to have my Droid read my emails to me, so I don't have to look and drive, err... wait for a stop light to read my email. Is there an app for that?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was about to come on here and praise how cool the new Voice to Text feature is in the new 2.1 update but I have found it to be a pain in the neck. I was driving the other day and decided to use it. I spoke very slowly and enunciated the words clearly and that thing wrote something entirely different. No offense but I sounded like a slow person the way I was talking and it still typed the wrong thing!
View 8 Replies View RelatedEvery time I get a text, that pop-up dialog box shows up on my home screen. I don't want it there anymore. How can I get rid of it? I'm using stock the text messaging application.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter 2.5 days with my droid, I cannot figure out how to send a plain old ordinary phone text. When I pull up contacts, I see options for voice call and IM, but not phone text. I looked everywhere I could find, checked to see that the contact was listed as a mobile number. Someone please take pity on me and tell me the secret !!!

View 5 Replies View RelatedI would like to be able to say an email or text message to myself or my wife sometimes. When I hold down the input field I get an input choice menu but the only option there is the Android Keyboard.Am I doing it wrong?What am I missing? I would also like to have it read emails to me, and word docs (or just .txt).I have a Kindle but my phone is a little more convenient for something I would rather read in bits and pieces while walking to and fro the car or whatever.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I set my phone to vibrate, it will only vibrate when I get a phone call, not when I get a text or email. I saw some solutions for the Droid, but not the Droid X. I am not sure if the solutions are the same. Also, when it is on ring, it rings and vibrates, not just rings. Any suggestions? My main concern it getting it to vibrate when I get messages, I am not too concerned about the ring/vibrate thing.
