Motorola Droid :: Magnifying Glass - Disable It?
Dec 17, 2009Is there a way to disable it? I just double tap to zoom on a web page and never use the magnifying glass popup thingy, it seems to always be in the way (it annoys me) and would like to hide/disable it. Can it be done?

Oct 26, 2010First and foremost I want to be able to use the magnifying glass to relocate my cursor whenever I'm mid-text and realize that I've made a mistake while typing. Sure, I can just take a stab at the screen and hope I get it in the right place with one touch, but sometimes that doesn't work. For example: at the edge of the text box, next to the "send" button (landscape mode). I don't really like having to poke at the small space between the last word in my message and the send button after I've gone back to correct a letter or two. I've missed and hit "send" before. That's no good.
On rare occasions I can get the magnifying glass to come up, but it's usually a game of chance for me. If I hold my finger down on the screen to bring it up, a menu pops up. How can I bring up the magnifying glass a la iPod Touch for sifting through my messages?
After that, how do I highlight text for copying and pasting purposes?

Jul 18, 2010Is it me or is it impossible to make a picture from the gallery your wall paper in its full glory? they let you crop it but i cant figure out a way to make the full picture my wall paper. When you do crop it, it then zooms in on the section you cropped to make it fit the screen. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know.

It 480 X 800 pixel JPG (I can stretch it to get the 54 pixel more if I need it). When I go to set it as my wallpaper the "crop" square only let me allow 1/2 of the pic. I resized it way down still no luck. should I make it a PNG file?

Feb 7, 2010I use the backgrounds app, and it lets me save backgrounds to my SD card. I go into Astro/ sdcard/ backgrounds and then click on the picture. It gives me 2 options to open it. "ASTRO Image Viewer" and "View picture". For me to use it as a background I have to pull it up in "View picture", BUT....no matter how many times I try and pull it up that way, it shows me the first picture in my camera album. If I click "ASTRO Image Viewer", I can always see the picture I selected, but under menu, I only have the option to "share" and nothing else. Can you tell me why the selected picture won't show up in "View picture"?

Aug 11, 2010I've created a custom toolbar using a gradient inside a shape. It looks very nice, but since we only have the option for 3 colors (startColor, centerColor, endColor) it looks very round. I would like to do a glass effect, which requires a sharp change in color in the middle. Basically I need 4 colors (startColor, justabovecenterColor, justbelowcenterColor, endColor). Now I could have two shapes sitting on top of each other to get this effect, but I don't want to do this. I'm getting into some tricky UI customization here and that would be very difficult to manage on different sized screens.

It's either Corning's promotional material on the subject raving about how you'll never break your phone again, or someone that bought a Droid, cracked it, and they are screaming about how much it sucks. What I'd like to find is some kind of reliable source that has done a study on it. I studied engineering and, from what I remember, we were taught that the harder something was the more brittle it would be. Of course, that was 15 years ago and there's a good chance I'm remembering it wrong. Does anyone know for sure? Have a source you can point me at?

Search 'Weather & Toggle Widget' or ' weather widget donate' on the market or go lock20.wordpress.com.
First of all, when I serach those strings in the market, I get the same hits as above. Now, I tried the 'Weather widget - Free' application, and that was wrong.
I've searched for 'Beautiful widgets', but find nothing.
Do I need an external application called 'weather widget donate' or something, or am I supposed to use the native 'News and weather' application on my Nexus One? In that case, how do I find/get it?
