In the iPhone or Android, if you have a JQuery Slider, it doesn't quite work (touchscreen will move the screen instead of drag the slider.)

I developed a mobile website using jqtouch. It works fine in iPhone but doesnt work in android.
First the page loads properly in android but when we scroll then it doesnt display anything on the screen. But I am able to click on links and it navigates properly. So am assuming that there is text on the screen but its not getting displayed.
I did look at issues posted in google code where they said that its the problem with transparent gif and suggested to use base64 value. I tried that, even then its not working.

I was designing a mobile version of my website but then realized I need to support at least three (iPhone, iPad and Android). In that case, I was thinking of using jQuery for the task where I would first detect what device it is and then load the appropriate CSS. How would I go about doing this? Is it something like this? And is this even the good way or is there a better way of achieving the same? Code...

My website uses jQuery and the it's main feature uses a loop. On the desktop, all 3 browsers (GC, FF, IE11) executes the loop approx. 1,100 times a minute. On Windows Phone, it does 1,000 times a minute, a bit slower. But on Android in particular, it only gets about 500, and the UI updating is slow. I don't know about iPhone.why my jQuery is running much slower on Android then the rest of the platforms I've tested?

For a site I'm working on I'm implementing image preloading with javascript however i most certainly do not want to call my preload_images() function if someone is on slow bandwidth.
For my market the only people with slow bandwidth are those using mobile Internet on a smartphone.
What's the best approach for detecting these users so i can avoid image preloading for them?
option 1 : detect browser width
if($(window).width() > 960){ preload... }
option 2: detect user-agent with a list of browser to preload for
if($.browser in array safelist){ preload... }
are there any better options?

We have a great software foundation based on Microsoft MVC 2, Entity Framework 4, Repositories, POCOs, Service and Control layers, C# Views, JQuery and html. Firefox pulls 100 records in 250 ms, drops it in to a template, links the data to the markup, and we sit back and drink margaritas.
Boss walks in and says he wants an iPhone app. I bet we need an Android app too.
What frameworks could we use to easily jump from our Microsoft comfort zone in to the wide, wide world of the Apple iPhone / iPad, along with a follow-up Android baby.
I imagine we could use our JSON controller methods to communicate. Is there some type of a client side JavaScript consuming app framework we could get a reasonable Website like interface re-working? They didn't like the idea of simply running the whole thing in Safari, which works pretty well.
Needs:
Send and receive JSON objects
Some type of template engine so we can pair up objects to markup, or at least some way to separate design from programming
Something similar to JQuery would be nice
A good editor with auto-complete and highlighting, something that compares to VS2010
It took us two years to incorporate design patterns, Agile methods, and Domain Driven concepts using MVC and Javascript. We may have two or three months to re-produce the same functions.

BitBop just released their Android app so that we can watch (or download) full length TV shows to our phones.
Bitbop Brings a New Challenger to the Mobile TV Market | Android Phone Fans
Download directly from their site here: m.bitbop.com
I downloaded it and I'm going to give it a shot. I'll report back with my opinions after a couple days. Finally some mobile TV other than Verizon's crappy Vcast!

A few weeks back I started using the full version of droid live (has another name now but I forget it at the moment) to stream various music and talk radio stations (both national and international) The program worked great, as I was able to easly connect and stream music/talk with virtually no drops. There is one local sports talk radio that I listen to the most. All of a sudden, in the last week or so, live has had serious problems connecting to that one specific station. Once connected however, the program actually works fine with no drops. it just takes repeated attempts to get it to connect. I know it is not a signal issue, as I get great 3G in my home and business. Sent an email to the developer a few days ago and have not heard anything back yet. So do any of you know of any decent programs that might rival droid live?

Is there some way to have Eclipse NOT present the Android Device Chooser dialog every time I run the Android application I'm developing? I'm using a running Android device, not an AVD. There's got to be some place I can set my default device to be the Android device so that I don't have to double-click on the device entry in the ADC dialog everytime.

I hate the fact that when browsing web sites, I'm always directed to the "mobile" (WAP) site if there is one! Just wondeirng if there is a way to keep the Droid X browser from loading mobile (WAP) sites? I don't care to be directed to mobile sites. I know with the HTC Droid Incredible, as well as many other Android smartphones (other than Motorola it seems) there is an option to disable mobile sites and get the actual web site like it would be displayed on a desktop computer.

If you haven't allowed 3rd party app sources you will be prompted with this warning. And will be able to enter settings to allow 3rd party. Then Back to click the downloaded file to install.This will allow you to use Exchange with having to purchase Touchdown.I used this on my former windows mobile phone to access my personal exchange server (used their server side software (free )) and my works exchange server.

I'm trying to get my new DX configured to my liking and am thrilled....except that I can't get Contact Quick Tasks to behave. I'm using Launcher Pro and suspect that's the problem. But what I need is to be able to one-touch dial a dozen or so contacts. (What a concept!) Is there a workaround or some other widget or app that can get me quick access to "speed dial"?

I had assumed that the Motorola Droid supports the new multitouch APIs in Android 2.0, but the reviews of the device I've seen so far say that it isn't used, at least in the built-in apps like the browser (e.g: http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/30/motorola-droid-review/ ). Apparently though, it is supported on the upcoming GSM version of the same handset [url], so perhaps it is just an issue of whether the driver is included on the Droid version of the software. Can anyone with access to a Droid confirm whether the multitouch API works on it?
