I couldn't find anything that puts video and map together. The cloest things I could find are Ultra mate, which could insert everything (including video and voice entry) but map, and GeoDiary, which could insert map and photos but not video. I am looking for something that could put all three together, map, video and photo. Any suggestion? Is there a such thing out there in the market?

Looking to get back into writing about my life experiences for/of my family. One that can be easy to use, chronical, backup and export, hopefully sync with the desktop, password protected and would be cool if you can take pics and insert. Anything out there like that or closest to it?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen entering an appointment in the diary and want it recurring e.g weekly, there doesn't seem to be any option to limit the time, it seems to go on forever. I would like it to finish on either a date or after a number of weeks, like the diary on my Ipod touch, I tried to jump forward to the date when I wanted it to end and delete/edit the ones forward as a strategy but you only get the option to delete the whole series.

I loved how I can have so much information right in front of me when I just turned on my screen.The biggest issue is a solid Widget for my Work (Exchange) email and Cal. I'm starting a new thread on this one because I don't know where it's going to end. Here's a review of what's happened so far. My original post: "Round 1"--My 6 month old Droid quit yesterday. I went to a Verizon service center near me and they searched within 30 miles for a replacement. None to be found. They said they would have one sent to me from "the warehouse", and I'd have it in 48 hours. That's acceptable, especially considering the fact that I didn't have insurance on it. My contacts and calender will come over from my GMail account, but I'll have to load about 50 apps and I assume any special settings I'll have to re-do. If the "Factory like new rebuilt" isn't as close to new as possible, it will go back and back and back until I get one as mint as mine was. I'm thinking positive and will let you know how I make out. "Round 2"--O.K. so far so good. I got home last night and had the note on the door that Fedex didn't leave it (no signature). Drove to Fedex location (10-12) miles away and picked up "like new" phone. I was impressed with the physical appearance. It looked truly "like new''. Called to activate phone-no problem. Did my *228 to program-no problem. I make my test call and the problems start. With the volume all the way up I can barely here the voice. When I take the phone away from my ear the display goes dark.In order to see the display to end the call I need to slide open the keyboard. So, no volume and no display when calls end. On the pnone with 2 levels of tech support for 1 1/2 hours and no luck. Said they would send out another "like new' to me but with the holiday I wouldn't get it until Tuesday. After some discussion they agreed to send it overnight Saturday delivery to my office by noontime. Believe it or not I'm not upset. Things happen. They are doing all the right things to correct my problem. By the way, all my contacts,photos,and favorites came over as I'd hoped. However only 1/2 my apps came over. That may be because I didn't give them enough time to. I'll keep you posted. Stay tuned for Round 3.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo at the request of my wife, I rooted and fixed her mom's Captivate (me and my wife both run Fascinate's).
Now, sometime later, her mom is now requesting that the mini diary app be re-installed.
The Root fix i used was the release the beast fix. Is there any way someone can post up the APK to be re-installed so I don't have to go through returning the phone to stock?
Anyone using the Mini Diary? Seems like a decent app for preparing Facebook updates without having to post them right then and there. I tried a test publish and it keeps failing. Any idea how to make it work?

1. Storage of text with a description and grouping of items
2. Syncs to the cloud/PC so data can be entered using a PC.
3. Offline mode so can still be read on the PDA even if no internet (this is why I'm leaving Evernote).I'm at the stage where I don't think an app like exists for Android yet and am thinking I'll create folders for each group and a text file for each item. I'll then copy this to the device using Dropbox. Has anyone tried this yet.

View 48 Replies View RelatedI'm transitioning my PIM's from my Palm TX to a shiny, new Evo. Big jump I know. My major concern was how to manage the hundreds of memos I had accumulated over the years. I loved the simplicity of the Palm desktop, offline access, and easy syncing but was having trouble finding a good alternative on android even after reading through many forums. I stumbled onto B-folders which seems to work great as a Palm desktop memo replacement.B-folders has a desktop component that is similar to the Palm desktop in its simplicity and ease of use. It's actually cleaner than the example they have on their website. The B-folders app is also nice and clean. Porting hundreds of memos in multiple different categories was actually very easy. Here's how I did it:
1)On the Palm desktop within a category, select all memos.
2)Export as a csv file. When it asks to specify export fields, only check "Memo".
3)On the B-folders desktop, import as a generic csv file.
4)A new folder called "Imported Data" will be created. Right click on it to edit the name.
5)Repeat for all your memo categories.
6)Sync with your app and you're done! You'll have all your memos on your desktop and phone and can sync them anytime. I used wifi to sync.
There is a 30 day trial after which it costs $30. I'm not one to usually pay for apps but this one might be worth it. Hopefully this helps all those die-hard PalmOS users left out there!
I'm looking for a good notepad/memo application that a) can sync between Hero and computer (i.e. doesn't have to sync to the internet, although if that's an option too that's OK) b) I can somehow get all my notes from Outlook in there (so I guess it should be .csv compatible?) and c) privacy option (password protection) - like the good old Palm Treo - you can mark it private, and it gets hidden, and only shows up if you type in the password. Palm users will know what I mean. Is there such an app out there?

My son managed to put a password onto my Asus Memo Pad. So now when I try and start it up I'm faced with a password no one knows. I've tried the little trick of holding down the volume and power buttons, but the "No USB cable connected!" message comes up, even though the USB cable is connected to my PC.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I'm looking for an app, much in line with overskreen, or air terminal in it's execution, but all it needs to do is let me take notes in it, a tabbed interface would be great, and ability to save would also be great, but honestly I don't even need that. Just need a simple floating window that allows me to type some quick notes in it. Or paste some text in there so I can view it from another app.
I could probably use overskreen for this, but it just seems like overkill to have a floating browser as a text pad. I didn't find any on the Store, but I did find an app called "Floating Widgets" ( or something very similar to that name ) which basically allows you to take most widgets and make them 'stay on top' ( ie. float ). This would work great I'm thinking with a note widget for memos. The only problem is all the memo widgets I saw and tried( free ones anyways ) didn't seem to allow direct typing in the widget, they opened some kind of editor and then saved to the widget when you exited. This defeats the reason of having a floating memo widget lol.
An existing widget that does this, floats, etc... B.) A normal widget that allows direct typing in the widget itself instead of opening some kind of proxy app? or C.) Some other solution other than using a browser?
I rooted (using Kingo root) Memo Pad 8 (ME180A) and deleted many bloatwares. The problem is that I also deleted Gallery app which is connected to Camera. So I factory reset via both Settings->Backup and reset and Power+Volume up button. But the deleted apps weren't restored, still missing.
Unrooting and doing factory reset can fix this problem? Or should I download stock firmware or stock Gallery app? I couldn't find stock apps and firmware.

My tablet will not connect to ANY WiFi network anymore. Everything was working perfectly, but had to send the tablet to Asus for RMA because it would not charge anymore. But now, when i connect to my wifi network it just says its saved and does not connect" I figured maybe it was an issue with my network, so I went out and tested it with other WiFi connections. It can scan and detect everything, but the same thing happens while trying to connect to anything. My Sony phone and laptop are able to connect to everything perfectly, but the tablet will not, even to the networks which it has previously connected to.
Things I have tried:
-Deleted all networks by using the "Forget network" option and tried connecting again.
-Tried "open" type networks without any passwords.
-Rebooted the tablet several times.
-Done a factory reset, twice.
-Tried to analyse logcat data.
Do i have to rma it again..
is it in the source code of the default program called "memo" or does it get this data from some 'editable' text file?
In other words, how to change the date of a certain note in a memo, for example to set it backwards in time.

It's annoying to have to put calendar appointments in both my phone and tablet. Same as every app I download on my phone. I seem to be doing double duty constantly. It did it once but never again.
