General :: Put Password Onto Asus Memo Pad?
Oct 17, 2013My son managed to put a password onto my Asus Memo Pad. So now when I try and start it up I'm faced with a password no one knows. I've tried the little trick of holding down the volume and power buttons, but the "No USB cable connected!" message comes up, even though the USB cable is connected to my PC.

Apr 24, 2014I rooted (using Kingo root) Memo Pad 8 (ME180A) and deleted many bloatwares. The problem is that I also deleted Gallery app which is connected to Camera. So I factory reset via both Settings->Backup and reset and Power+Volume up button. But the deleted apps weren't restored, still missing.
Unrooting and doing factory reset can fix this problem? Or should I download stock firmware or stock Gallery app? I couldn't find stock apps and firmware.

General :: WiFi Not Connecting On Asus Memo Pad 10.1
Jan 24, 2014My tablet will not connect to ANY WiFi network anymore. Everything was working perfectly, but had to send the tablet to Asus for RMA because it would not charge anymore. But now, when i connect to my wifi network it just says its saved and does not connect" I figured maybe it was an issue with my network, so I went out and tested it with other WiFi connections. It can scan and detect everything, but the same thing happens while trying to connect to anything. My Sony phone and laptop are able to connect to everything perfectly, but the tablet will not, even to the networks which it has previously connected to.
Things I have tried:
-Deleted all networks by using the "Forget network" option and tried connecting again.
-Tried "open" type networks without any passwords.
-Rebooted the tablet several times.
-Done a factory reset, twice.
-Tried to analyse logcat data.
Do i have to rma it again..

Mar 9, 2014When I first got my tablet it synced all my apps that I have on my phone onto my tablet. All me emails sync up but how do I get it to sync all the new apps again? It's annoying to have to put calendar appointments in both my phone and tablet. Same as every app I download on my phone. I seem to be doing double duty constantly. It did it once but never again.

General :: ME172V - Temporarily Avoiding Poor Connection
Feb 27, 2014I have a ME172V tablet I'm trying to connect to my PC via wi-fi.
I got an PQI Air Pen Express WAP and when I first connected with my tablet all was fine. Since then I'm getting a "Temporarily avoiding poor connection" error. My Motorola Edge phone connects with no problem. I've reset the WAP and the tablet, the signal strength is excellent, and I've disconnected & reconnected.
From the number of posts I found when searching this is a common Android problem. One suggested solution is to uncheck the "Avoid Poor Connection" option in wi-fi settings. Unfortunately there appears to be no such option on the ME172V. Other proposed solutions involved flashing or other techniques I'm not familiar with.

I have a small annoying issue that I am sure could be fixed with a flash, the back button randomly stops working until I reboot.
The baby Einstein on their 800 number thought a factory reset would fix it, then that using the software button was a good enough solution and had no clue about tablets in general. Through Support e-mail they were heading towards wanting me to ship the tablet back rather than supply a link to firmware. I explained to them it doesn't appear to be hardware related as it is random, and reboot fixes it.

General :: Floating Memo / Text App Or Widget?
May 13, 2012So I'm looking for an app, much in line with overskreen, or air terminal in it's execution, but all it needs to do is let me take notes in it, a tabbed interface would be great, and ability to save would also be great, but honestly I don't even need that. Just need a simple floating window that allows me to type some quick notes in it. Or paste some text in there so I can view it from another app.
I could probably use overskreen for this, but it just seems like overkill to have a floating browser as a text pad. I didn't find any on the Store, but I did find an app called "Floating Widgets" ( or something very similar to that name ) which basically allows you to take most widgets and make them 'stay on top' ( ie. float ). This would work great I'm thinking with a note widget for memos. The only problem is all the memo widgets I saw and tried( free ones anyways ) didn't seem to allow direct typing in the widget, they opened some kind of editor and then saved to the widget when you exited. This defeats the reason of having a floating memo widget lol.
An existing widget that does this, floats, etc... B.) A normal widget that allows direct typing in the widget itself instead of opening some kind of proxy app? or C.) Some other solution other than using a browser?

Mar 18, 2012Any widget that will display a moving google map with my current location centered? There are a couple apps I've found that are close, they just don't update in realtime. The reason I ask is because I have my 7" galaxy tab mounted in my truck. I use a program called torque to add gauge widgets (coolant temp,boost pressure, rpm,etc) to my home screen and would like to have a moving map display as well. I understand this would be a battery hog,but the tablet is always plugged in.
