Looking to get back into writing about my life experiences for/of my family. One that can be easy to use, chronical, backup and export, hopefully sync with the desktop, password protected and would be cool if you can take pics and insert. Anything out there like that or closest to it?

I couldn't find anything that puts video and map together. The cloest things I could find are Ultra mate, which could insert everything (including video and voice entry) but map, and GeoDiary, which could insert map and photos but not video. I am looking for something that could put all three together, map, video and photo. Any suggestion? Is there a such thing out there in the market?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen entering an appointment in the diary and want it recurring e.g weekly, there doesn't seem to be any option to limit the time, it seems to go on forever. I would like it to finish on either a date or after a number of weeks, like the diary on my Ipod touch, I tried to jump forward to the date when I wanted it to end and delete/edit the ones forward as a strategy but you only get the option to delete the whole series.

I loved how I can have so much information right in front of me when I just turned on my screen.The biggest issue is a solid Widget for my Work (Exchange) email and Cal. I hoping something can at least come close to what SPB Diary was for Windows Mobile. I'm starting a new thread on this one because I don't know where it's going to end. Here's a review of what's happened so far. My original post: "Round 1"--My 6 month old Droid quit yesterday. I went to a Verizon service center near me and they searched within 30 miles for a replacement. None to be found. They said they would have one sent to me from "the warehouse", and I'd have it in 48 hours. That's acceptable, especially considering the fact that I didn't have insurance on it. My contacts and calender will come over from my GMail account, but I'll have to load about 50 apps and I assume any special settings I'll have to re-do. If the "Factory like new rebuilt" isn't as close to new as possible, it will go back and back and back until I get one as mint as mine was. I'm thinking positive and will let you know how I make out. "Round 2"--O.K. so far so good. I got home last night and had the note on the door that Fedex didn't leave it (no signature). Drove to Fedex location (10-12) miles away and picked up "like new" phone. I was impressed with the physical appearance. It looked truly "like new''. Called to activate phone-no problem. Did my *228 to program-no problem. I make my test call and the problems start. With the volume all the way up I can barely here the voice. When I take the phone away from my ear the display goes dark.In order to see the display to end the call I need to slide open the keyboard. So, no volume and no display when calls end. On the pnone with 2 levels of tech support for 1 1/2 hours and no luck. Said they would send out another "like new' to me but with the holiday I wouldn't get it until Tuesday. After some discussion they agreed to send it overnight Saturday delivery to my office by noontime. Believe it or not I'm not upset. Things happen. They are doing all the right things to correct my problem. By the way, all my contacts,photos,and favorites came over as I'd hoped. However only 1/2 my apps came over. That may be because I didn't give them enough time to. I'll keep you posted. Stay tuned for Round 3.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo at the request of my wife, I rooted and fixed her mom's Captivate (me and my wife both run Fascinate's).
Now, sometime later, her mom is now requesting that the mini diary app be re-installed.
The Root fix i used was the release the beast fix. Is there any way someone can post up the APK to be re-installed so I don't have to go through returning the phone to stock?
Anyone using the Mini Diary? Seems like a decent app for preparing Facebook updates without having to post them right then and there. I tried a test publish and it keeps failing. Any idea how to make it work?

its got all the other features i'd like to use: answer calls from my PC, make calls from pc (from , for example, the outlook contactlist), call Log capability; but i have to pick up my phone when i probably can just hear it through my headphone (connected to PC)
I think i should be looking for some sort of voip server on my phone and let my computer act as voip client, but i'm not entirely sure about that.

My brother has a G1 (Mobile USA), which has piqued my interest in the Android platform. My question is: Is the app store synced with every kind of Android-capable phone, or just that specific phone? If I was to buy a HTC Magic, would it use the same app store as the G1? AFAIK, some other major platforms, such as Symbian do not sync, and it's 'every phone for itself', but I was thinking that Android was more synergic.

I have my HTC Desire and the Facebook application is the worst thing it should happen. It sync all my friends phone numbers and mixes with all my other phone numbers. Can some one in clear state of mind ask Android/Facebook to give us the option to select what friends we want in our phone list? I like the Facebook app but deleted it once it messes my phone!

The problem with this is I'm using up my 3g internet on my phone a lot more and i'd like to do things like update my apps and check twitter more but i'm scared i'll run out. View 24 Replies View RelatedI would be grateful for your well-informed suggestions.In my own naivety I purchased a Blackberry Curve, and it's next to useless to me since I don't have the web service (too expensive), it doesn't transfer *.html or *.pdf files by USB, audio transfer app is buggy, and in what it does do, it's a pain to use.I need a device to use as a PDA (calendar & tasks lists to sync with desktop software such as Outlook or similar), to read *.rtf & *.pdf documents, use *.html & JavaScript files, play audio files, take text memo notes, a simple IDE on which I can do some simple programming (preferably in Java, but another language would be ok), and use a flashcard app, such as Anki. All file transfers must be by USB.Oh, and I don't need it to have a phone at all, so some other device such as that Android iPad clone would be OK if it operates well, reliably, and will likely last at least a couple of years.I'm severely limited financially, so I need to choose the cheapest one which fulfillls these needs. I'd prefer a keyboard, but if any much cheaper with touchscreen only can fulfill these requirements, it will do. Buying a used device such as from ebay would keep the price down, but I need advice on selecting one, considering that I chose something as terrible as a Blackberry.

I wrote some code using getContentResolver().query() In the results, I am seeing that the name is being returned, and other information like when I last contacted that person, but not the phone number. What am I doing wrong?
