Coming from a jailbroken iPhone, my favorite application was intelliscreen. Essentially what intelliscreen does is that it allows you to have information on your lock screen such as calendar, tasks, sports scores, news etc... This way you can access emails and sms etc... without ever unlocking your phone.
Is there any similar application on the Android OS?

I uninstalled Launcher pro and went back to the stock home page. The one thing I really liked about Launcher pro was the dock. Is there an app that has a similar dock to LP?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a couple of images on available to my program. They are parts of jigsaw puzzle (with rectangular pieces though). I wanted the look and feel similar to that of google maps in android.
One way I could implement was to create a set of ImageViews and keep recycling them, as the user pans the image in any direction. However, to me that appears like a brute force method. Is there any alternative approach to implement such kind of application? Or rather how is google maps implemented? A set of Imageviews ?

I'm new to Android development, and I was wondering if anyone knew either how to make Tabs slide, or how to get a similar effect without tabs. I have quite a few tabs in my application, and it does not look good on devices with smaller screens. Or maybe tabs are not what I am looking for. It must have signaled and non-signaled state both set manually. A thread must be able to wait on it and wait would return immediately if the object is in signaled state and block if it is in non signaled state until another thread sets it to signaled state. There must be way to reset the object back to non-signaled state.

I went to send a text message today to a friend named Jamie and when I scrolled through my contacts and click on Jamie I see two numbers. One is for Jamie and the other is for James. The problem is only Jamie shows up in my contact list. Luckily, I had my old phone and I was able to see which number belonged to who. I tried deleting both contacts and re-adding but the same thing happened. Can anybody else confirm this or is there some setting that I am unaware of (ie. group similar names)? Not a huge deal just curious.

I was wondering if anyone knows of an app that will do something similar All I want something that has a widget so I can see upcoming events or tasks and it must also be able to alert me audibly - the built in calendar on my Captivate is terrible.
