View 2 Replies View RelatedI am currently using Gtasks and I like being able to add a task that will allow an audible alert but lately for some reason the program has been buggy and its starting to frustrate me. I was wondering if anyone knows of an app that will do something similar All I want something that has a widget so I can see upcoming events or tasks and it must also be able to alert me audibly - the built in calendar on my Captivate is terrible. A calendar type app would be fine as well. I saw this in the market Pure Calendar Widget - anyone out there that can recommend this app? I would appreciate any info on an app I should try.

I have some friends with Facebook names that I do NOT want to be as my phone contacts.

Later Dude - Can set a reminder (calendar, task, call, e-mail, etc.) based on an incoming message/phone call 4. Pocket Informant - Great PIM app.

Like many other users, I found this a really useful app, and if it means having to uninstall can anyone else a similar app to astrid?
I'm using LauncherPro since today and one thing I miss is a mail widget.
I tried K-9 Mail but that doesn't have a widget.
I would love to have something similar like the HTC mail widget. (4x4)
Any suggestions?
Has anyone been able to find this game or one similar but under a different name? Maybe from a source outside the market?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI came to know that Qt framework can let us develop Applications for Android and iPhone. Have some ever developed applications and submitted the Apps in App store and Android market. Is it similar to Titanium in the way of using same source code base for different platforms. If that is the case, can we use the same code for Nokia Applications.
View 1 Replies View RelatedCould anybody point me to the xml that gives a layout similar to the Android email app? Basically it's a list view, with 3 columns per row. The 1st and 3rd columns are fixed width, and the middle column expands to fill the view.
I understand how to customize a list view, but I cannot figure out the xml required for those rows.
I like to save very simple a few Data. best like in iPhone I can do with NSUserDefaults. What is the similar command here in Android? (just saving a few Variables, to be reused as long the application is installed) I dont like to use a complicated Database just to do that.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to explain me better. In android once you receive an email on gmail you would get notified almost in realtime. How does it work? Thinking about an answer i had 1 idea: Android is connected to a gmail server which does not send anything untill it has new mails This solution , which is the only one i can think about, is a little bit expensive, in term of battery consumption. Do you have further ideas? If not do you know some opensource server that will accomplish my idea?
View 2 Replies View RelatedTotally new to the forum, so please be nice! I have looked at other threads and cant seem to find an answer there so here it goes.Does anyone know of an App that acts similar to the Blackberry email client? What i really mean is does anyone know of an app that acts as a third party entering your log in details and then pushing emails to your phone (similar to what i believe the BB client does)I only ask as i wish to connect to my Uni email address and the IMAP settings are restricted on undergraduate accounts, so cant sync in the usual way via IMAP. However, people who have BB's at uni have no issue in connecting to their emails. On asking the IT guys why this is they explained "The reason people are able to use Blackberry?s is due to the fact that they provide there password to an external company to access there mail on behalf of them which is strongly against the terms and conditions of there university account, and as a result should not be doing this at all."Essentially i need an app that mimics this.Any help out there for a poor helpless noob to the forum who is very much in love with his new HTC desire?

View 1 Replies View RelatedFirst off, I'm a complete newbie to Android platform development. What basically, I want to know right now is, whether there is any similar APIs available in Android SDK, which will allow events to take place, even if the main thread is blocked for some extensive operation? Something which is similar to ProcessEvents() or DoEvents() in some other platforms.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just switched over from iPhone to Android and am looking for something similar to where in the iPhone SDK, when a class finishes a certain task, it calls delegate methods in objects set as it's delegates.I don't need too many details. I went through the docs and didn't find anything (the closest I got was "broadcast intents" which seem more like iOS notifications).Even if someone can point me to the correct documentation, it would be great.
