My car stereo packed in this morning, so looking to replace it. I saw a youtube video that showed someone playing videos/music on their desire and the sound coming through the car stereo via bluetooth
Does anyone do this? does it work ok? and do i need anything specific or any stereo with bluetooth will work?
Having come from a N97 the one feature i REALLY miss is the FM transmitter, was brilliant, i guess i'm trying to recreate it via BT.

I am thinking some update to an app caused it, given that it was working fine and then stopped, but not certain.
Galaxy Note 2. Both phone and stereo show that bluetooth is connected. Calls will still go through the stereo, but music won't. The music will play through the phone's speakers, but at a very low volume - lower than what my phone shows. I do not have a volume control app or manager installed. I have: PowercycledPaired and unpaired numerous timesGone into the device settings and checked volume settings and that media is check-boxed for the car stereo device.Checked volume levels through the sound settings.Probably a few other things that I am forgetting.Husband has also researched and tried to troubleshoot with no success There was a post somewhere else (don't remember where) about a similar issue that might have been related to a Google Now update, but we tried that route also.

I have a 2010 Mazda 3 w/ Bluetooth and an auxillary output--I have had no problems w/ the Bluetooth as far as receiving and making phone calls and I play my iPod thru the auxillary system all the time...I just got the Droid 2 weeks ago and downloaded Pandora this past weekend--I can't get it to play thru the Bluetooth (even though the little music symbol shows that it is paired) and I can't play it thru my Droid hooked up thru the auxillary system either.

When I am listening to the music app, or btunes, or mix zing; about one in four times I turn the screen off, the music stops playing. I've tried turning of my task killer, but to no avail. At first, I had a second issue as well: the music would play for only about 15 mins then stop, however, I managed to figure out that that was the 'Data-Off' timer I had set for the battery's 'Smart Mode' (though I'm not sure what data has to do with playing music stored locally). Nevertheless, swapping to 'Performance Mode' solved that. But for the life of me, I cannot figure out why a quarter of the time I turn the screen off, it kills the music.

Is there any way to play Streaming radio stations other than apps built for specific services (like Pandora/last.fm/slacker/imeem).To clarify, I mean online radio stations, that use .pls files to play streams. Some also have plugin players, but since Flash isn't on the Droid yet I'm not too worried about them. But it seems like it ought to be possible to play streaming .pls files.I tried to download one and it said it couldn't be downloaded because the size could not be determined.

Has anyone figured out a work around for the music player in 2.2 not playing mp3? Maybe a working apk that we can install? I can't even use my custom ringtones until my phone can play mp3s, really annoying!

I'm the proud owner of a month old Droid 2, but the damn thing keeps freezing or locks up completely when I play my music on it - sometimes it even restarts on its own. It doesn't matter if I'm playing my own MP3's or Pandora. While at work this happens maybe 3 to 5 times a day (docked to a desk/home charger from Verizon) and it's really frustrating. I noticed this started happening once my phone updated to 2.2.20 a few weeks ago. Just this past weekend I took it to my local Verizon dealer. They said they updated the PRL and this often corrects the problem. I got the phone home and it locked up immediately. I've restarted repeatedly, removed the SD card and battery but still no change. Any suggestions? This will be my fourth replacement if I need to take it back and have it replaced.

first the M4A file issues: Since i have been upgraded to 2.2, I can no longer play m4a files NOR files imported into iTunes from my own cd and then put on my phone. I get an error saying, this file type is not supported. Obviously the error is self describing by why did Android stop supporting these file. What am I supposed to do now? if these files are DRM free why would Android have a problem playing them. do they want to push their own music service. If so, thats fine, but thats not even out yet. Most of my searches on this topic come up unanswered. ALSO, when I go to play a song in mSpot, it starts to download and then it says "There was an error during song playback" I can play the song on the mspot website, but not through the app. Anyone else a little peeved by this update for these reasons?

I am currently having some problems controlling the audio on my phone via bluetooth in my car.
When I press the button for the next track on Pandora, that would automatically activate the Android Music Player and play whatever I have stored on the SD card. Ultimately, what I have is 2 sources of music playing at the same time.
Only way to fix it is to get rid of the SD card. OR I can switch tracks using the phone itself.
I realize that this problem isn't limited to the Droid X. I've read about this happening on the Incredible as well.
Anyone know whether a patch (or Froyo can fix this)?

So, I've been having issues with my Droid X (this is my second, my first bricked during the 2.2 upgrade.) It's fairly reproducible, and I want to know if it's just me or if everyone's experiencing this. It generally happens when I have the phone in the car dock, It's connected to my stereo for phone and A2DP via bluetooth and music is playing, though my mom (who just got a droid X) called me yesterday to say it was happening when she was listening to music on her way to New York and she was pretty frustrated. Basically, what it boils down to is music playback starts getting choppy, the phone gets warmer than average running temperature (though not horribly hot) and eventually music playback stops. While double-tapping the home button still opens that 'say a command' voice prompt, the screen takes forever to draw and the phone runs sluggish as hell. Other than that, the screen is unresponsive, the home button doesn't actually do anything, and the only way to get the phone out of this state is a battery pull. This particularly sucks because I've gotten used to using my phone as my in-car music player AND for navigation so since it is so frequently going down in the middle of driving places I can't really rely on it anymore. It may just be my device, too. When it's plugged into some computers in my house, the bottom half of the touch screen becomes unresponsive. When I brought it to the Verizon store to get it replaced, the incompetent rep basically determined that since I'm running LauncherPro, my device must be rooted and refused to honor my warranty. I'm getting pretty fed up with Verizon. I'm on my 8th replacement phone from the first droid I got (3 droid erises, 3 motorola droids, 2 droid X's) and not a single one has worked as advertised.

I have the car dock and love how the charging cable plugs into the dock so your not always plugging and unplugging it into the phone itself. You can just set it in the dock and go. Now the perfect scenario to me would be to be able to stream Slacker or MOG music from the X to the car stereo using Bluetooth. I currently have factory Bluetooth in the car, but is only for calls. I would like to get a new stereo with Bluetooth that would allow me to stream music to it in addition to using the X for Navigation. What I would like to know is how the sound quality will be? Is there anyone here currently doing this that can comment on the sound quality and let me know what deck you are using? I am REALLY hoping for success here so I can just drop the X into the car dock and go, without messing with any cables and still have very good sound quality.

I have wanted to be able to stream music via bluetooth from the droid to an audio receiver... can't think of a solution. Right now I use the application streamfurious to stream internet radio from shoutcast.com's website, an excellent source of thousands of radio links, to the droid. Now it would be sweet to be able to relay this again to another audio device. I have an auxiliary 3.5mm jack on my head unit in my car and I was wondering if anyone knew of any other device to convert that so it could stream through bluetooth. Theoretically I could just plug that into the phone but I hate wires. One other question... I know they say the data plan is unlimited but streaming music 24/7 would have a ridiculous amount of data usage. I think the cap is 5gb is this true??

So when I bought my Droid, the offered me a "Bluetooth Package" which included the LG HBM-210 headset, a case, and a car charger (I can't remember if the screen covers were included or seperate). Is it possible to play music on that headset? Right now, after I pair it with my Droid, it only starts receiving sound when I receive or place a call. When I play music on the build-in player or with Pandora/Last.fm/Imeem nothing happens. It just plays from the speaker. If I can't listen to music through it at all I think I'll probably return it along with the case/cover I got.

When I am wearing my bluetooth earpiece (Plantronics Explorer 640) it only works for phone calls and notification tones. If I play a game or play some music it comes out of the speaker on the phone, any idea if this is a glitch or is my earpiece lacking something?

I've searched hi and low, so I apologize if this has been answered before.I have a stock Droid-X. I have my blue-tooth paired to Motorola HT820 stereo/phone headsets. SIDE NOTE: I also use wired stereo ear-buds that are music and phone capable as well. Here's the problem.I can be listening to Pandora with my HT820's all is fine, I am grooving.. then I receive a phone call. I carry on the phone call for 5+ minutes (or whatever) through the HT's and when I disconnect from the call, I have nothing but silence! Music does not come back. I check to make sure Pandora is running and the music is playing yep, still no sound though. So I try and test what is happening.I then go back and call, say voice mail. The call goes over the HT's fine. But when I disconnect from the call, my music is not there. I try turning off, then back on the blue-tooth (I double check in settings I am connected and it is) but it still won't play my music, it will come over the regular speaker, when I turn of the blue tooth. The only way to bring it back is to power off the X. My music will then play again until I receive another call or notification like a text message. The weird thing is this happens when I use the wired ear buds plugged into the jack. These are designed not only for stereo, but handling phone calls too. No sound, I unplug and the music plays out the speaker. Again only powering off and on the X will get the music back into the wired ear buds. Like I said, this is a stock phone, not rooted. Paired and connected, Media and phone checked.

I had my Droid connected to my car's AUX via typical cable/jack. Various songs were skipping. They weren't skipping the day before, just since yesterday.
It only skips when it is connected via jack or Bluetooth to another player.
If i just listen to the Droid without connecting to anything else, it doesn't skip.

This is probably can't be done but has anyone come up with a way to display the now playing song in the status bar ? This would be great when traveling and using the GPS as it would be nice to see what song is playing in the status bar without having to slide the notification bar down especially when driving. Maybe a scrolling artist/song title.

Here's one that is going to confuse you all.My Milestone has taken to playing music by itself at random. It's not an alarm. It's not the music player being started either! At 0832 one day, music started blasting out while it was in the dock. Another time, it began when I removed headphones after watching a video (and returning to the home screen). Once it has started when I disconnected a Bluetooth car kit. I can adjust the volume but nothing else! I have to open the music player, and then it shows the music as paused - but it's still playing. To stop it, I must press play, then stop/pause again. And then it stops. It's happening maybe once every day or two, and is incredibly annoying. I just can't figure out what might be causing it. It MUST be an app that I've got running or have installed, but which one? Has ANYONE else had a similar problem, perhaps that they thought was just a one off glitch?

I have a eciplse 2 an440 something like that. When I do a bluetooth scan it finds my phone and sets up profiles for car calls but that's it. It does not find bluetooth stereo. Do I need to download a bluetooth audio player or should I check to make sure my stereo supports it.

We're developing an Android game and we play some background music for our intro (we have an Intro Activity) but we want it to continue playing to the next Activity, and perhaps be able to stop or play the music again from anywhere within the application. What we're doing at the moment is play the bgm using MediaPlayer at our Intro Activity. However, we stop the music as soon as the user leaves that Activity. Do we have to use something like Services for this? Or is MediaPlayer/SoundPool enough? If anyone knows the answer, we'd gladly appreciate your sharing it with us.
