Sep 16, 2010How do i go about reading the genre that a song is associated to? I can read the song, but how do i grab the genre for that song, where is it stored?

Jun 25, 2010The problem is that Xperia seem to remember the genre of the files before I corrected them. For example, if a song has genre as "JPOP" and I change them to "J-pop" that song will be both genre "JPOP" and "J-pop". So I have to scroll right 3 times to change genres from "J-pop" to "OST" (J-pop -> JPOP -> J-Pop -> OST) which is not what i want. How to completely replace the old genre so that it not appear in Xperia genre list?

Mar 9, 2010I've been using Pandora since its inception. One of my favorite stations has always been Steve Miller band. Its always played what you would expect: 70s music. But lately its been stepping out of that decade and playing bands like smashing pumpkins and chili peppers. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm digging it, but found the sudden changes to be unexpected. Other stations have been doing the same. Has anyone else noticed the changes? If so, are they good choices, or do you find yourself hitting thumbs down quite a bit?

At the moment I am using the default htc email widget, however when ever I read an email from my gmail account it doesnt update the read status so it still shows as unread.
I would like one that would update the read status and possible the support for unified inbox so I can see new mail from hotmail account and gmail.

Jan 26, 2010I am wondering if there any music apps (besides Pandora, Last.fm, imeem, Slacker, etc.) that will play the song that I want it to? For example, say I want to listen to Empire State of Mind by Jay-Z, what app can I go to and type in "Empire State of Mind" and listen to that song, instead of "similar songs"?All of these Pandora, Slacker, etc apps are exactly the same. Why can't I listen to the song I want instead of similar songs? I just don't get it.

I dont want to touch the phone as i live in Australia and it is hot and i dont want to sweat all over the phone and break something. With the Iphone they have something where you hit the button twice on the head phones and it skips a song. Three clicks of the button the music player goes back one song. Is there a music player app or a head set i can use. If i press the button now it just pauses.

Feb 9, 2010Trying to get one mediaplayer button to cycle through a few mp3 files. Here is what I have so far:
First declared my array:

Then called Media Player:

Android :: Song ID Application Not Carry Function?
Sep 3, 2010I've always been a fan of V Cast music ID before I recently switched to my Droid X. It was one of my favorite features. I was able to find it in the Verizon apps, as well as Shazam and SoundHound in the Droid Apps. However, both Shazam and Soundhound, no matter how many times I try, say they didn't receive any music or failed to identify a song, and V Cast SongID just stays on the "Listening" screen until I have to close the app. The songs I've tried are relevantly popular songs so I know they're not too unique for the databases. I've placed my phone in every possible way up to my speakers but no such luck. Is this a common problem? Could it be leaning towards a phone issue and not an app issue with three apps all failing to carry out their function. I'm not going to pay for a full version until I get it worked out.

But with the newest update it has begun playing a long annoying song when I get an sms, even though I've set it to a normal single sound. I've tried reinstalling it, but it doesn't help. Oct 15, 2009Request 1: I made this request to HTC but they said to try here as well. My Iphone TomTom GPS used to fade back to itunes when it was not actively speaking. I use the bluetooth on my Mazda 3 for music and routing instead of owning an expensive NAV system. Please enable the Sprint Nav to do so. This would be the ONLY thing I miss from the iPhone at this time.
Request 2. The headphones hiss when a song fades out. Is this a HTC hardware issue or something that can be addressed with a firmware patch? I hear I can get headphones that come out of the bottom port but the hero touted the 3.5 jack and I should not have to do so.
