Apr 2, 2010How do you reset the HOME location in the htc Clock application to GMT? It will let me set HOME to a city, but I want to set it to GMT? It won't take Greenwich.

Android :: Missing Out Home Screen Clock
Mar 23, 2010It seems like everyone uses a home screen clock of some sorts, so I figured I was missing out. I tried a few, but can't get over how much screen real estate you lose! What's the point of losing 4 icons just to see the time, which is plainly displayed on the top of the screen already??? I have the stock Moto power bar up there, which is very helpful, but it takes up 4 spots too. Am I missing something, or do people just need to have the clock that big in their face all the time? BTW, I went from a Palm OS Tore to a Win Mo Treo (and i Pod touch) and then finally got the Droid back in January and I couldn't be happier!! Android is everything I thought it would be and then some.

Mar 24, 2009I am just starting on an Android app and I am puzzled about why my Task activity stack is being reset any time the application is launched from the Home screen. I used the ADT tools to create the application in Eclipse. The main activity is ".UserLaunch" and it starts the activity ".About" when the user presses a button. If the user then presses HOME and then relaunches the app, .UserLaunch is displayed and is the only thing on the stack.
.UserLaunch has the launchMode singleTask. .About is standard. According to the documentation at http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/fundamentals.html#lmodes: "However, a "singleTask" activity may or may not have other activities above it in the stack. If it does, it is not in position to handle the intent, and the intent is dropped. (Even though the intent is dropped, its arrival would have caused the task to come to the foreground, where it would remain.) "The Task stack should be brought to the foreground and .About should still be displayed. I added Logging to all of the lifecycle events (edited to remove timestamps and shorten DEBUG/ and INFO/ to D/ and I/) and you can see that when HOME is pressed, .About cycles through onPause and onStop (as expected). Oct 4, 2010Just me or is anyone elses weather way off, its 2:05am right now in Minneapolis, MN and it says "sunny" and 57 which it obviously is not. I tried other locations from Chicago, to Miami, to San Diego and they all say sunny or cloudy when the sun obviously is not out in any of these cities, then I tried tokyo where it is 2pm rigtht now and it says "clear" with the moon picture and it obviously cannot be dark if its 2pm, so what is wrong with my weather widget.

Jul 8, 2010I've had my Moto Droid since it basically came out last Nov and I have never ever run into a problem with the phone until last night. I had a phone call and after I got off the phone, I noticed my droid reseted itself and it wasn't going back to the home screen. Meaning it would just display the word "Droid" then go right into the droid red eye screen, then right back to the word Droid and just kept repeating itself.
I took the battery out and put it back in, but it kept doing the same thing. I am really not sure what would cause my phone to do this, but the only new change I can think of was that I installed the "TMZ" application to my droid about 3 hours prior to this happening. But the application worked fine and I really hope it wasn't because of that. Is there anything I can do before going to Verizon? I would really hate giving up my phone with all my stuff in it, but I know theres probably not much I can do if I cant even get to the home screen.

Aug 10, 2010Recently I installed BHMAN's 1.6 ROM without TW, and I'm having a problem where sometimes my clock widgets stop refreshing the time.
Now i've searched for this problem and usually the best solution to this is to delete any task managers installed, which I cannot because the task manager is embedded into Home++, so I'm thinking the only way to get rid of the task manager is to delete the whole Home++, correct? I'm using ADW launcher at the moment.
