Android :: Want A Skinnable Home Clock Ithout Weather?
Jul 12, 2010
I've tried Beautiful Widgets and Weather and Toggle Widgets, but both include weather. Here's my current home screen: I'd just like something without the weather below the digital clock since I have Weather Bug's forecast widget right there.

I am a new EVO owner. I am looking for the best clock & weather widget for my home screen. I want the weather to automatically update based on my location. I found the clock/weather widget on the EVO from the factory does not update often enough and isn't very accurate.

Just me or is anyone elses weather way off, its 2:05am right now in Minneapolis, MN and it says "sunny" and 57 which it obviously is not. I tried other locations from Chicago, to Miami, to San Diego and they all say sunny or cloudy when the sun obviously is not out in any of these cities, then I tried tokyo where it is 2pm rigtht now and it says "clear" with the moon picture and it obviously cannot be dark if its 2pm, so what is wrong with my weather widget.

mail widget
shortcut to sms for my friend and wife

task killer
lockme widget
and a folder with my most used apps

I tried removing it and adding it back about ten times and it still won't show the weather..just says "my location" under the clock. If I click on the clock and load it, I can then click on the clock and it will load the weather screen, updated and all...but it still refuses to load it on the home screen with the time. Happened a few days after froyo update. How can I get the weather back as part of the clock widget??

I am curious if anybody else has a problem with the weather app that is default when you use android. I have the HTC Hero. I really like the look of the big clock with the weather. But the weather on mine is WAY OFF and it drives me crazy. The cweather is always 8-14 degrees off from what the real temp is and the weather icon is also off most of the time. It may be cloudy and it will show rain. or it may be sunny and it will show partly cloudy. Now I know that they must use a tower that is not close to my house. But I live in a small town and there is no way that the temp is 14 degrees hotter 3 miles away at the same elevation. this is frustrating because I really like the look of the clock/weather widget. I just use the weather channels widget and it is close to spot on. But it does not have the same look as HTCs. I also used weather bug and it was off too. Not as bad as HTCs but still off.

Is there any way to remove the weather icon from underneath the clock? I have turned off all GPS and auto update settings to conserve battery life so the icon under the clock is always wrong so it seems pointless that I even have it there.

I'm using LauncherPro and i wanted a clock and weather widget. so naturally i purchased Beautiful Widgets. When i put "Beautiful Smaller Home" on my home screen the weather only updates when I turn my phone off and then back on. I've gone into the settings and ensured that both Geolocation and Use GPS over Network were enabled. Any ideas why it isn't updating and/or is anyone else experiencing this same issue?

I have a Moto Droid 2.2 with "Alarm Clock Plus v2" set as my clock when in the multi-media dock. The weather information will load the current weather when the application first starts up, however will not refresh.
If I tap on the weather it will open the weather info with up to date info but going back to the clock will still show the old data. By removing the phone from the dock (thus exiting Alarm Clock Plus) and putting it back on the dock (thus running Alarm Clock Plus again) the weather info becomes current.
Has anyone else run into this? I looked in the settings for Alarm Clock Plus v2 and could not find any information on how often to refresh the weather info.

I have an unbranded standard HTC Desire and wondered if there's such a widget that looks the same as the HTC flip clock but without the weather feature as shown in the pic below? I don't want to mess around with the standard rom though.
