How do I connect a fuse.net email account to my phone?
just got my desire this morning and i don't really know what i'm doing with it, i've never had a smart phone before. i've set up my hotmail account as the email account on the phone but, call me paranoid, i'd rather not have it on there at all. if i delete the account on the phone will it have any detremental effect on the actual email account?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've set up an email account on my mini pro (NOT gmail or exchange) and it all works fine updating my inbox manually , however, I cant find any settings to automatically retrieve my emails periodically ( as far I can see auto sync refers to gmail or sony sync or road sync for exchange). Is there any way to auto sync an individual email account ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedOtherwise loving my new Samsung Epic - but how could the Android email client (a google product) integrate so poorly with Gmail My 3 GIANT issues : 1- The native email client does not observe who an email was sent to when responding like the gmail web client can. If I have secondary emails on my account it will not allow response as them. 2- unlike the gmail web client, I can't select what secondary account to respond with. 3 - I am unable to add secondary email account to my android phone. requires authentication using primary and It only adds them as the primary. Google really dropped the ball big on this and from what I've heard, Froyo nor the new Android gmail client (which I'd rather not use since I also have non gmail account for work) did not address this either. I figure it' s either a huge technical obstacle (which I doubt), or not much testing went into the email application.

I noticed I hadn't received a new email notification in several hours so I went to check my email it prompted me to setup an email account. Anyone else have this happen? I only have 2 days to return my Captivate, it's been a good phone so far but I cant afford to lose my email accounts for no apparent reason again. I haven't installed any new apps or made any changes to the phone.Coming from the Blackberry world I took it for granted that email just worked flawlessly.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHad my Legend for about a month and a half now and I've started getting 'low phone memory' errors. Looked in the memory lists and it says the only 'biggies' are maps at 4mb each (and there's 4 of them?) and 'HTC mail' at 116mb. I only have my hotmail account, texts, and Gmail and they're all empty. Not really got that many applications installed (4 or 5) and had to remove some just to get the phone to stop reminding me. I've emptied the drafts, trash and cache and it made little to no difference.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to delete email from the droid but have it stay in my gmail account? I want it to be how the blackberry is set up were it gives you the option to delete out of both phone and gmail account or delete from phone and stay in gmail account.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSamsung Epic 4G under Sprint. I'm trying to add another Google account to my phone and it does not let me. Your phone needs to communicate with Google servers to setup you account. This may take up to five minutes. Then, Can't establish a reliable data connection to the Server. Is this still possible now that google sync is in effect? We are using this second account as a shared location for picasa pictures and google Videos.
But I'd also like to be able to check emails in the account, but not under my native email client on the samsung or even the gmail client - I want no notifications for these emails. Is there an Android market email client (pop or imap) with a separate icon that I could install on the phone for ondemand email? I've looked in the market and their ain't much out there.
I am currently using a x10i (x10?) on tmobile, i have the data plan ($10), and have my email connected via gmail. however, it seems like i have to do manual refresh in order to get email update. Is this normal or is there automatic feature that i must enable to have it alert me once an email is received?
Secondly, is it possible to set-up a third party email account, ex: Yahoo? I went through the notion of manually enter email account, but was unsucessful. It give me a msg that mailbox access is not supported for some tpes of yahoo mail accounts. Could this be an interference with gmail email, thus causing the problem? Even, using the manually setup option, it still fails to connect to my yahoo account.
I've been searching and still cant get my school email account to work? First, is my incredible capable of having multiple email accounts attached to it like my blackberry had been? The emails i really need to get to work are one from comcast and the other from my school (university of pittsburgh).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI know this has most likely been discussed many times. But I am looking for a decent email widget.
At the moment I am using the default htc email widget, however when ever I read an email from my gmail account it doesnt update the read status so it still shows as unread.
I would like one that would update the read status and possible the support for unified inbox so I can see new mail from hotmail account and gmail.
I remembered from my G1 days a way to sync the E-Mail app up to Yahoo's free (not PoP3) servers so I gave it try on my new BH2 and it works just fine:Here are the steps:
1. Enter Yahoo ID and Password (hint, just use your "username", not the whole joeblow@yahoo.com
2. Select Manual Setup
3. Setup IMAP
4. Incoming server is imap.mail.yahoo.com
5. Port is 143
6. Security Type is "TLS (if available)"
7. Leave IMAP path prefix blank
8. Hit next
9. SMTP Server is smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
10. Port is 25
11. Security is again TLS (if available)
12. Check Require sign-in
13. Verify username and password
14. enjoy
To Sync up, you CANNOT be on WiFi (dunno why, maybe Yahoo has a deal with T-Mobile?).One other note: if after rechecking all your settings and it still says "invalid username/password" try going onto your Yahoo Account and change your "Location" to ASIA ! Weird I know, but for some reason, some people can't get this to work with US-English as their Yahoo Locale (not talking about your phone's settings here, all on Yahoo site end!).
I am using K-9 Mail and have 12 email accounts in it. I need to delete 7 of the accounts as I am now ceasing a lot of my email addresses. I have spent ages searching within K-9 (Android) on my HTC Desire, but cannot find any way to delete the accounts.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI need an email app that Works preferably for my G1 phone. I need it for university and my job, however I can not for the life of me, after a week of trying to get the email app that came on the phone to work it will not work. I took the phone to the IT department if my university after I followed their instructions online for setting the email account up on the phone and every time I got to outgoing server settings the app force closed. The IT guy couldn't get it to work either.
I tried it a few times at home before it just sat for an hour trying to do something or other before my phone crashed and it turned itself off. I had a panic attack and thought I had broken it but alas my phone loves me too much to do that to me. So are there any other apps out there that are worth while for IMAP email (I do know its IMAP no idea what IMAP is =) that I can use with my G1 that I wont have to kill to get it to work?
My gmail account was easy to set up, and by going into options/settings I can edit my signature. But the option for editing/adding a signature on a none-gmail account is nowhere to be seen. What gives?
View 19 Replies View RelatedI want to get the email address of the Google account tied to the phone (the one the user enters upon setup). I need it to uniquely identify the user of my app - however I do not want their password as it would, understandably, scare most users away from using the app. So I need a way of getting the email address without having to include permissions that suggest I am accessing account info etc...

View 3 Replies View RelatedSetting up my email account was easy to do. I'm having a problem (or I'm not understanding) the email app that came with the phone. I only see three folders
INBOX
SEND
TRASH
How do I create additional folders? Also, how do I get all my emails in my inbox to display?? I am only seeing the recent emails, or the ones that were just received. I need to be able to see the emails from earlier today, yesterday, last week, etc..... How do I do this? Can emails be stored to the card? Can we change the text setting from an html format to just a standard text format? Where can I find a the complete instructions on the email app?
I have been trying to setup my schools email account via google apps but to no avail. I have gotten count less errors both on the gmail and email app. Typical errors include "invalid credentials", "rejected", or something of that nature. I have also tried setting my username to "anon@usc.edu" , "anon@gmail.com", or simply "anon". These are the settings I use:
Incoming mail settings
Imap
Imap.gmail.com
Port 993
SSL
I won't bother including outgoing email settings because I have yet to even make it past the incoming settings page.
In the email app that came with my Sprint HTC Evo, I added my googleapps email... I then later discovered the gmail android app works better.. So I set it up there also. However, the email app still has my email account setup in it.. I don't see a way to delete it. I've held down the account, but no context menu shows up.. there's no delete function apparently.. I'd add another account to test with, but I'm afraid I won't be able to delete that either!
