Mar 24, 2014When using my sms app, I am looking for a way to display which phone number of my contact is used (mobile, work, home, ...)
The only thing showed is the contact name and his phone number.
With all the sms apps I've tried (stock, hangouts, hello sms, 8sms, evolvesms, chomp, handcent), I didn't find a way to display this information. I always have to do an extra action (clik on contact photo, or title bar) to check if the phone number concerned is 'work' or 'mobile'.
Any tip or a new app to show this info ?

Apr 9, 2010I have been struggling with getting the versionName for a running application from the PackageInfo Object type. I have constructed a Parcelable Interface with all of the fields associated with the PackageInfo Object type. The primary input for that interface method is a Parcel object.
I cannot seem to figure out how to correctly associate these Parcelable, Parcel, and PackageInfo objects.
Is there any sample code out there that I can look at? Doesn't seem like it should be that difficult but it seems to be stumping me.

Jan 4, 2010I'm looking to create a mobile version of our website/web app. What's a good way to provide the best, most fully featured version.Part of the reason for creating it is instead of an iPhone app, so I'd like to offer an iPhone web app that takes full advantage of the iPhone's version of WebKit (so CSS animations, being able to rely on good javascript support etc). However, I'd also like the site to work well on other smart phones as well as more basic mobile phones as well.Do I create two sites (Mobile WebKit and basic mobile web) and redirect based on User Agent? Can I create one site that degrades well? What are the possibilities, and how do other people handle it? Also: are mobile web simulators worth a damn? I have an iPhone, so can test easily on that. If I want to test on Blackberry/Palm Pre do I really need a device or are there reliable simulators?

Jul 3, 2010so i have an n1 for at&t and i just got the ota update for froyo last night. today i'm trying out the default web browser to see what kinds of flash videos i can see. i already downloaded the flash player from the market. plus i went into the setting for the browser with regards to "about:debug" then changed the UAString to desktop. but for some reason when i go to a website like nbc.com to try and go watch a full episode of the office, it only loads the mobile version of the site. also when i check out the facebook page it always automatically loads the "touch" version of the site. how can i get it to default to the desktop regular full site version? can anyone tell me a way around this or a setting change other than try a different browser?

Jul 7, 2010I am a Mac user (photographer/ videographer). I also rely heavily on my iPod Touch when mobile (i can often find a wifi signal when i am out and about). I use iCal on the Touch and iCal on my Mac as well as the address book on both everyday and as a Mobile Me user, my two devices sync so everything is mirrored and up to date. I also HATE AT&T for their terrible signal strength and coverage and have been a loyal Verizon customer for many years and this is why I don't have an iPhone. Okay, all that being said, is there an easy way to still use everything I love and rely on with my Mac (the calender and address book, mainly) and easily sync all of my existing information and future info to an Android based device? How easy is it to use an Android device with a Mac? I don't want to have to manually re-enter my entire address book into a new device.

Dec 11, 2009Is it possible to open the regular Facebook page in the browser? I am almost able to log in to it, but then it asks me for my birthday because I'm not browsing from a "familiar location". So I select my correct birth date from the drop-down menus, but the Login button stays grayed out for some reason and I can't go any further. Has anyone else had any success?My reason for wanting this is so I can access the actual Notifications page. The way I currently have it set up, I get an e-mail notification in Gmail. Then when I click the link in the e-mail for whatever update it's supposed to take me to, it just takes me to the homepage of Facebook Mobile. Then sometimes it won't even list the New Notifications link. This makes it very inconvenient if I want to go find where to reply to a comment or something. I have to know exactly where it is, which is difficult if it's not recent.
