Android :: Get A Region Which Is Not Standard Rect Area?

Feb 19, 2009

I want to judge whether the touch point(x, y) is in a region or not, the region is from a stardard rect by rotating specified degrees, from example, rotate 30 degrees. There is a class named Region in Android, but as I researched, it just supports standard rect, is there any other way to judge whether a point is in an acclivitous rect? How to do it?

Android :: OpenGL More Textures For One Rect

Nov 1, 2010

In Android OpenGL ES, I want to be able to switch textures for a given Rectangle. I have one rect and I put two textures, depending on different conditions. I just want to switch between textures.

I followed this code to create the textures: http://blog.poweredbytoast.com/loading-opengl-textures-in-android but it seems that this is only for one texture.

If I use only one texture, it renders fine, but then I don't know how to tell the rect to use another texture (same rect, different texture). Do I do something like "setTexture" with the ID that is generated in loadTextures()? Do I have to have an array with texture names (numbers) that I then change .. I just don't get it..

Android :: How Does ImageView Just Redraw Part Of Its Content When Invalidate(Rect) Is Called?

Nov 8, 2009

I am new to Android development, just reading docs and trying the APIs. I am quit confused how ImageView managed to draw just a part of its content after an invalidate(Rect) invocation.

I've checked ImageView.java, found no other drawing method except onDraw(Canvas), but onDraw(Canvas) only cut the drawable only if it is beyound the view's visible boundary. I also read the implementation of View.invalidate(Rect), I think the key of this function is calling to mParent.invalidateChild(this, r);

However, I think the parent view doesn't know how to draw the child in the given Rect, it finally has to call some method of it child to paint out. Has anybody investigated this part of codes? Would you please give me some guide?

Android :: Google Map View Limited To Region?

I've seen a lot of applications that utilize this view, but in my region (Israel) it seems to show a different view than what the Google Maps application shows. Google Maps shows everything you would expect from Google Maps except street view. However map view does not. It never shows streets and details, just a big blotch of gray. Satellite view works, but not with the best resolution the Maps application offers. Can anyone point me to documentation of this matter?

General :: Galaxy Ace 2 I8160 - Unable To Flash Firmware With Different Region

Aug 30, 2012

i tried the Indonesian I8160DXLH2 firmware, i agree that its fast and stable and better RAM management, the only problem I face is the modem.bin.md5 from the Indonesian ROM wont flash on my phone or my phone responded "CUSTOM Modem Binary!" , so what I've done is I extracted the modem.bin.md5 from my i8160ZLSG1(hong kong variant) and rebuild a single package .tar.md5 flashable ROM, Odin flashed the ROM perfectly, but as soon as I enter the on screen set up, my SIM card is not detected and I have no access to GSM/3G networks, bluetooth and wifi works fine, all the software part works fine, stable and fast, also, the IMEI code will not show up, unless I revert back to the Hong Kong region specific ROM. I really like the Indonesian ROM because the Hong Kong firmware had severe scrolling problems in menus and apps.

PS: my phone is rooted, my sales code(CSC) is THL.

I thought about getting the user's coarse location to find the city he's is in but this approach needs Internet access and might not be fast enough (this is done as the user is making a call and needs to finish before the call is made). Is there any way I can do this with just the info from the cellular network?

Android :: HTC Evo / Where Ad In Graffiti Input Area Is Coming From?

Nov 24, 2010

I have HTC Evo and installed Graffiti some time ago with no problems. Yesterday I did an update of several apps including Graffiti, which required a manual update to a new version. Ever since the updates were completed, I have an ad show up in the text input area. This shows when I'm either doing a google search, text message, etc. It's always an ad for Netfront Life Browser (which I don't have installed). It's really irritating because I have to tap the ad to make it disappear which makes Graffiti think I'm hitting the screen to input punctuation. So I have to tap it again to remove punctuation mode before I can enter text. The ad also will pop up in the middle of inputting the Graffiti text. I'm not sure if the updated Graffiti is forcing the ads in, or if it's another app that is causing it. Any ideas on how to fix this? I hate to lose Graffiti but something has to give - it's now much slower to use Graffiti than regular keyboard.
