Android : Invert Colors Within A Region Of Bitmap?

I am starting to develop a game. Right now I got a sprite animation going when a player moves across using sprite sheet. In my sprite sheet the character is always facing the same way, left. Now if I want the character to move right, I want it to be facing right. So is there a quick way in android to invert the bitmap after it has been loaded in? Or do I have to create sprite sheet for character facing right?

I've been looking for some API that would let me set the alpha channel of the Bitmap to fully transparent for all pixels outside the circular region.
View 4 Replies View RelatedJust wondering if anyone knows of a way to invert scrolling so that you swipe down-to-go-down and up-to-go-up instead of the way it is by default: up-to-go-down and down-to-go-up?The only reason it's a problem for me is that I have a laptop and use two-finger-scrolling on the trackpad (down-to-go-down/up-to-go-up). This means that when I switch from one to the other, I keep trying to go the wring way with my swipes. Confusing. I looked through all of the settings on the phone and tried googling and looking through the available apps but to no avail.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a very large image and I only want to display a section the size of the display (no scaling), and the section should just be the center of the image. Because the image is very large I cannot read the entire image into memory and then crop it. This is what I have so far but it will give OutOfMemory for large images. Also I don't think inSampleSize applies because I want to crop the image, not lower the resolution.
Uri data = getIntent().getData();
Input Stream is = getContentResolver().openInputStream(data);
Bitmap bitmap = BitmapFactory.decodeStream(is, null, null);
Any help would be great?
I am 1) taking a picture and 2) then draw another Bitmap on top of it 3) then I store it
I am doing it as follows and it works on the emulator.
On the device I get a OutOfMemoryError: bitmap size exceeds VM budget android.graphics.Bitmap.nativeCopy(Native Method) android.graphics.Bitmap.copy(Bitmap.java:199) in the line copy the Bitmap to get a mutable Bitmap.
CODE:...........
What I am asking:
a) Is there a better way to do what I am doing? 1) take a picture 2) draw another Bitmap on top of it 3) then I store it
b) What is the best way to create a mutable Bitmap from the picture I just took with the camera?
In my app, resolution is not an issue. If it works better for small photos that would be fine.
I've seen a lot of applications that utilize this view, but in my region (Israel) it seems to show a different view than what the Google Maps application shows. Google Maps shows everything you would expect from Google Maps except street view. However map view does not. It never shows streets and details, just a big blotch of gray. Satellite view works, but not with the best resolution the Maps application offers.Can anyone point me to documentation of this matter?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to judge whether the touch point(x, y) is in a region or not, the region is from a stardard rect by rotating specified degrees, from example, rotate 30 degrees. There is a class named Region in Android, but as I researched, it just supports standard rect, is there any other way to judge whether a point is in an acclivitous rect? How to do it?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have two questions actually:
Is it better to draw an image on a bitmap or create a bitmap as resource and then draw it over a bitmap? Performance wise... which one is better?
If I want to draw something transparent over a bitmap, how would I go about doing it?
If I want to overlay one transparent bitmap over another, how would I do it?
My goal is the draw a bitmap onto another bitmap but rotated 90 degress. whats the most efficient way to do that. My current method is as follows which is horribly bad because it creates a new bitmap every time.

I have my app in the market which is mainly for US based people as I dont have the database that is required for any other country.
So I am wondering if it is possible to restrict the app to be visible to and downloaded by only US based users.
I am taking a trip to Asia starting tomorrow. I wanted to know, does the GPS on the droid actually work globally as the name implies? And even if it does work, without service in that region google maps will most likely not work for directions, however is there a way or an app that can download maps of the region for the GPS to work off of?
View 6 Replies View Relatedi tried the Indonesian I8160DXLH2 firmware, i agree that its fast and stable and better RAM management, the only problem I face is the modem.bin.md5 from the Indonesian ROM wont flash on my phone or my phone responded "CUSTOM Modem Binary!" , so what I've done is I extracted the modem.bin.md5 from my i8160ZLSG1(hong kong variant) and rebuild a single package .tar.md5 flashable ROM, Odin flashed the ROM perfectly, but as soon as I enter the on screen set up, my SIM card is not detected and I have no access to GSM/3G networks, bluetooth and wifi works fine, all the software part works fine, stable and fast, also, the IMEI code will not show up, unless I revert back to the Hong Kong region specific ROM. I really like the Indonesian ROM because the Hong Kong firmware had severe scrolling problems in menus and apps.
PS: my phone is rooted, my sales code(CSC) is THL.
I want to draw a shape(many circles particularly) into a Specific Bitmap. I have never used canvas / 2D graphs etc. As i see it i create a Drawable put the bitmap in it then "canvas-it" to the shapes i want etc.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've seen references on how to SET system colours, but I need to find out how you GET them - how do you find out what they are? On the Samsung Galaxy S for example, the tab views, ListView highlights when you select an item, and the Summary text line on the preference screen are all blue.There are many apps which immitate this style and I want to do the same. Obviously I cannot just hard code and set the colour to Blue, as other handsets use different colors.The question is, is there a way to programmatically find out what colour the Preference Screen Summary Line, Tabs, or ListView selections are, so that you can then set that against a TextView elsewhere in your app?How do I get the android system colours?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to use colors from a Theme to apply it to HTML my app is rendering. I am wondering if I can do that? I am looking to use colors like they are specified in themes.xml: <itemname = " color Fore ground">@android:color/bright_foreground_dark
name =" colorBack ground " >@android:color/background_dark

@android: color/primary_text_dark
I get this as a result: I/System.out( 1578): tv.string=null I/System.out( 1578): tv.coerced=#ffffffff I/System.out( 1578): colorResourceId=-1 I/System.out( 1578): tv.string=res/color/primary_text_light.xml I/System.out( 1578): tv.coerced=res /color/primary_text_light.xml I/System.out( 1578): colorResourceId=-16777216 The results are different. The first one actually gives me the color "#fffffff" which would work for me, the second one only gives me an xml. Do I need to jump through a few more hoops here to resolve the actual color? Does my original intention work at all? Maybe it won't work, because colors could be arbitrary drawables? I didn't find any relevant documentation, but if you know any, just point me there please. Btw. I also tried obtainStyledAttributes(), but this had basically the same issues. ou received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Developers" group. View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm working on an android application, and I have a drawable that I'm loading up from a source image.On this image, I'd like to convert all of the white pixels to a different color, say blue, and then cache the resultant Drawable object so I can use it later.So for example say I have a 20x20 PNG file that has a white circle in the middle, and that everything outside the circle is transparent.What's the best way to turn that white circle blue and cache the results? Does the answer change if I want to use that source image to create several new Drawables (say blue, red, green, orange, etc)?I'm guessing that I'll want to use a ColorMatrix in some way, but I'm not sure how.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi want to change the background-color of a button using a selector-xml-file. My approach is basically the one from the example at the bottom this page: http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/resources/color-list-resource.html.But if I try it with android:textColor as described in the above link it works fine. So it has to be the background issue. I don't want to create a 9patch-png if it's not necessary (basically i just need a "clickable" rectangle so i use a button with a colored background)
View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to know if exist some type of edit in android to select a color.
Like Photoshop have when you select the color of the pencil, opens a window with a grid with all tones of colors, then the user can select some color and the edit return the hex of this color to me.
I have a list view and an adapter that sets alternating background colors to the list items ("zebra" list style):
public View getView(final int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) {
int colorPos = position % colors.length;
...
convertView.setBackgroundColor(colors[colorPos]);
return convertView;}
But now, when i select an item using scroll wheel, or when I click an item, the original colors for selecting/clicking do not override my custom backgrounds (I can see the original color below the one I set).
How can I set the original colors for these states?
