I have been waiting for the expansion of google market and to my shock I see that there is almost no activity on the same for the past couple of months. We just keep hearing that expansion will happen, but absolutely no news on the same. Does someone out there have any updates, and can comeone from google reply for this query that we have been asking a million time, just once.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an ExpandableListView bound to a SQLite database. To simplify things, lets assume the database contains two columns: title and body. In the ExpandableListView, there is a group for each title, and a childfor each corresponding body.
Now to make things more interesting, some of the rows in the SQLite database do not have a body (that is... they only have a title). As you can see, if there is no body, then there is no reason to expand the group... because the child will be empty (i.e. String body == "").
I'm searching for a way to catch a situation like this, and skip the group's expansion. I don't want a blank child to be expanded. To put it in psuedo code, I want something like this:

Iam facing problem regarding automatic expansion of list view..1) i had separate xml file for each list item . i.e inflated in efficient adaptor, list element is also using selector or highlightor file for background change on click.
Now in my main xml file view is like this
-LINEAR LAYOUT - VERTICAL (MAIN)
- LINEAR LAYOUT -HORIZONTAL HAVING5 BUTTONS .(CHILD 1)
- LINEAR LAYOUT - horizontal having two views as list view.
Problem i am facing here is second child having two listview .. only one listview is visible and it is expanding itself to width as fill parent.
1)I had tried to chnage the list item size ..
2)Secondly i tried to customize the listview size parameters in main xml ,but it is cutting the list view i.e. showing half data.
For a better handling and overview in expandableLists I would like to show only the childelements of the last selected group - the previously expanded group should be automaticly collapsed. The groupheader of the expanded group should be als aligned to the top of the screen to show the user that he's in the right group and that he can start to read the group childs from the beginning.
This worked well with the following code until now (android 1.5 - 2.1) but with android 2.2 the selection seems to work after the collapse method call:

If a group is selected by touch and expanded it should collapse the previously expanded group (if one exists). To align the groupheader to the top of the screen the method "setSelectedGroup(groupPosition)" is called.
Without collapsing a group (e.g. if you close the group manually before you open another) the selection is done correctly, otherwise the list entries of the expanded group are shown somewhere in the middle and not at the top as expected. Has someone a solution or workaround for this issue? The new API method smoothScrollToPosition (API level 8) is also not working in this case.

I just have a question on that new Seidio 3500mAh battery. Is that the only expanded battery that is currently on the market, or are there other ones that are bigger that do not require a modified back plate. I was just wondering if there are others that are in the works that may be a better alternative.
Also, i was reading that the new Droid X has stellar battery performance for a strikingly similar phone from some reviews on the web, and its battery is rated at 1540mAh. I saw a picture of the battery itself, and was wondering if any of you know whether it would fit in the EVO or not. I don't care much for the Droid X, but if its battery would fit the EVO, maybe that could help the cause.
What is the max size microsd card that can be used? The .pdf user manual states microsd 2.0 compatible but does not mention size. I�m also not sure whether the microsd 2.0 standard includes microsdhc.

I'm running Cyanogenmod 6. I just noticed that I can't find Google voice or Google maps in the market. I do have the apps installed, but can't see them int he market to get updates. I tried out LFY1.7 and Ultimate Droid 1.0.0, and see the same issue.

Because a lot of us do not have a credit card, thus not able to buy applications. I would really like it if they managed to do such thing, because I would be one of their number 1 customers.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhat do you guys think about Google officially making an alternate/auxiliary app market that would be available along side the present official market, but which would only host inspected or "approved" apps that were proven to be useful innovative and well written? It could be called something like "Android Top Picks" (not very catchy, I know..) or "Android Feature Market", "Android Market Pro", etc I personally think this is a great idea. It wouldnt violate the principles of open source and at the same time it would raise the bar for developers to aspire to as it would create a prestigious reputation for their apps and certainly increase their sales. Along with this it would create a thinned down selection of quality apps that users could focus on for superior performance. Things that could be indirectly implemented through this medium are inspection to see that apps dont inefficiently use battery life and also that they are made with the idea of being compatible across various platforms and devices in mind. I think this would encourage the development of quality competitive apps which in the end would only benefit users, developers, and Android OSs end-user marketing compatibility on all sides. Please vote and let people know what you think about this idea.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was trying to buy the paid app Better Keyboard. It then sent me to a screen telling me to add a google account. I already linked a Google Account to the phone when I first set the phone up, so I just tried typing that into the 'sign in' option, and it looks like it's doing something for a good 3 minutes, saying "Your phone needs to communicate with Google servers to set up your account. This may take up to five minutes." Now, I would be fine with it taking 5 minutes, except it brings up a page saying "Cannot establish a reliable data connection to the server: This could be a temporary problem or your phone may not be provisions for data services (it is, because you're required to have a data plan to activate a smartphone on Verizon)." I have a 3G signal and I'm connected to a wi-fi network as well, although I've tried it not connected to wi-fi, and still no dice.

One thing I can't seem to find so far is a list of everything Google offers in the Market - apps, widgets, etc. Searching "Google, Inc." in the Market will bring a lot of non Google apps in between and it doesn't seem to load Google's apps first. Is their a website that has a definitive list of Google, Inc.'s offerings in the Market?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy company registered for Market when the G1 came out, setup a Google Checkout account as soon as possible, and this weekend listed a pay-for app.
Everything looked OK, but after a couple of days of 0 sales and a few users saying they were going to buy the app I thought I'd do a bit of digging around, and found that despite Market letting us list a pay-for app with a price and showing no errors the Google checkout account was suspended and thus couldn't take payment.
The reason; Not agreeing to a new Terms of Service.
So if you're listing a pay-for app, and you've seen no sales, you may want to click on the "Go To: Transactions" link on the developer console to see whether or not it's Google Checkout that's the problem.
I have a motorola devour and according to all the reviews it can run goggles and according to google it can as well but i cannot find it on the marketplace!! my friend runs a search on her g1 and it comes up no problem! whats wrong with the devour!~

How is application installed phone?
1) Is the apk downloaded sdcard and deleted after installation? In the case of this how can market guarantee that when apk downloaded to sdcard, program finishes unexpectedly and installation- deletion of apk cannot be done?
2) Or installation is done from server?
3) I think that there exists security not to copy apk. how do they do this?
Maybe they use phone id to install application, by this way even if anyone copy apk they cannot install it other phone?

What is worse that not everybody contacts me by email bug gives bad rating even if my application is not working incorrectly. I made remedy: wrote it to documentation (http://android.hubalek.net), wrote it to application main screen and wrote it do application description but people either don't know what exactly task killers do and how they work or just don't read doc.I think that Google should prohibit all task killers as they are malicious and are breaking other apps.

I took off my sd card from my Samsung Galaxy Fit and when I replaced it, my Google-play app and other Google apps like Gmail and You-tube were gone!
I've not been able to download apps or watch videos on You-tube for the past one month.
I use FitDroid's custom ROM.
As you may know, when you buy an app from the market, an email is sent to you with a "Google order number" (which I believe is 15 digits long), which is specific to this transaction. I was wondering if this number is stored anywhere on your device after you purchase an app, and if it is, is there anything in the API to allow an android app to retrieve this number. If this number cannot be retrieved, is there a similar market transaction code that's retrievable?
