Android :: Getting Google Order Number Programmatically After App Bought From Market

Nov 20, 2009

As you may know, when you buy an app from the market, an email is sent to you with a "Google order number" (which I believe is 15 digits long), which is specific to this transaction. I was wondering if this number is stored anywhere on your device after you purchase an app, and if it is, is there anything in the API to allow an android app to retrieve this number. If this number cannot be retrieved, is there a similar market transaction code that's retrievable?

Android :: Set Number Of Columns Programmatically In TableLayout?

Apr 28, 2010

I have an XML layout which contains a TableLayout with an unknown number of TableRows...
The number of Rows will be established durin runtime, what I do know though is that I want two columns...
So I have a couple of questions regarding this :

- is there a way to set the whole TableLayout to have 2 columns ?

- is there a way programmatically to give an id to the (during runtime) created TableRows which will be placed within the TableLayout, so I can reference them later on from other parts of the software ?

Android :: Add View To XML Layout Programmatically / Make It Z Order Below Existing View

Oct 8, 2010

I have an XML layout with some custom tabs, a heading, and a ProgressBar(main.xml). I wish to add another XML layout(home.xml) to the main.xml layout, as i wish to keep main.xml re-usable for other activity's layouts and simply add things to it as necessary. The problem: after inflating R.layout.home into rootLayout, it seems as though the ProgressBar contained in rootLayout is hidden underneath the content of home.xml.Is there a way to tell certain views(via XML) to float above other views when the layout is constructed in this way?if not, am i forced to use methods such as progressBar.bringToFront() to raise targeted views to the top?what alternatives do i have in z-ordering views when some layouts are constructed using inflation?

Android :: New Application Listing Order In Market Search

Sep 24, 2010

Before today, when entering a search term into the Market app, the results at the top of the search would all be exact matches of that search term against the app name. For example, type "translate" and the user will see all the apps called "translate" before the "Google Translate" result (which is by far the most downloaded translate app). Now, this no longer happens. If you type "translate" the first result is "Google Translate" (and no preference is given to exact matches).

Note: posted on this forum partly because hardly anyone reads Android Discuss, and partly because developers need to know how their apps are being prioritized in app search results).

HTC Incredible :: Google Voice Number Isn't Version Cell Phone Number

May 24, 2010

I've experienced two problems with Google Voice that are causing me to get charged minutes I wouldn't usually get charged. If I can't solve them, I'll have to go back to using my Verizon number. First, let me say that I'm using a new Google Voice number that isn't Verizon cell phone number or any other preexisting number. Second, my girlfriend is on my family plan, but she doesn't have GV yet. We're using the 700-minute plan, so we don't have a friends circle.

Problem 1: When I call my girlfriend's Verizon wireless phone using the GV on my Verizon phone, I get charged, and when she calls my GV number on my Verizon Wireless phone from her Verizon wireless phone, she gets charged. We don't cash in on our free in-network calling. I know, this should have been obvious, but it just never occurred to me until after I looked at the bill. I'd be able to work with that, though, and just select "Call without using Google Voice" or whatever when calling her if it weren't for the second problem. When people call my Google Voice number, I get charged when I don't answer. Usually, it's just a one-minute charge, but sometimes it's two or three minutes (don't know why). With anything less than an unlimited plan, minutes count. Not good.

Android :: Starting Market Application Programmatically

Jun 28, 2010

Is this possible? I have a free and a paid version of an application. From the FREE version I want to provide the ability to for the user to "PURCHASE" the paid version. I want to make it as simple as possible. I am thinking of Starting the market app and passing the identification of the PAID so that the Market app will take them right there. I am trying to make it as easy as posible. No searching etc. No I have no intent of doing the purchasing from within my app. I want to have them press [Get Paid Now] button and then I start the Market app which would then take them to my Paid Application in the store.

General :: Market Fails To Process Order

Jan 27, 2012

When I purchase something from the market, it hangs on authorising payment in the market app. In the meantime the payment is taken from my card, I get an email with receipt for the order, then the market will error with the message "You will receive email when your purchase is resolved". The app then seems to freeze in a state of permanent purchased but not delivered. 24 hours has passed and I can still hit the refund button and process a refund.

This happens both on my Xoom and SGS2 whether purchased from the market on the respective device or from the website. The entries on Google wallet appear to be the same as previous successful purchases just without the delivered/shipped detail on them, and the message this item will be automatically downloaded to your device is absent.

I'm stuck in hospital at the moment and my tablet and phone are all I have, so this really sucks.I have tried multiple payment methods with no success.

HTC Eris : Backup Market Apps In Order To Speed Reload After Flash?

Mar 26, 2010

I'm looking to flash again... right after I loaded all of the market applications that I love onto the phone.

I apologize if this is a trivial question; I'm not yet all that familiar w/ the program management on the android. But what I would like to be able to do is create a directory (be it on the sdcard, my laptop, etc) and store the install files for all of the apps that I install on this phone after every flash. This would save a tremendous amount of time bringing the phone back up to usable status after a flash. And the cat's meow would be if the configurations for these apps could be backup locally as well. Similar to a ~/.name_of_application/ directory on a linux box.

I'm poking around the file system right now, and not finding anything obvious. Would these be the files out of /system/bin?

Android :: Google Checkout Order System Not Updating

Mar 8, 2010

I'm not sure how many of you have noticed, but the reporting system of Google Checkout has been broken since around noon on Friday. Orders continue to display in the web interface, but any attempt to query for orders via HTTP requests or exporting orders to .csv files only returns updated information prior to 3/5/10. For example, if you had 50 sales yesterday and tried to access the orders via the notification API or my exporting a spreadsheet, the request would return no information.

I'm not even sure that the Google Checkout team is aware there is a problem. I posted a message in the Google Checkout forum:

http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/checkout-merchants/thread?fid=5...

There has been no official response. I realize it was over the weekend, but it's really starting to have a negative impact. If you are a dev affected by this, please either post in the thread I linked to or try to contact Google. If someone from Google actually reads this, could you please try to make the relevant team aware of this issue if they are not already?

Android :: Lines And Drawables Draw Order In Google Maps

Nov 11, 2010

I'm writing an app that shows in google maps pipes and valves(lines and points). For that i've two classes.

One extends from ItemizedOverlay, and i add to map overlay one for each category of valve, and each one can have more than one item.

The second extends from Overlay, and in the draw method y draw the line with the method drawline of the canvas.

The problem i've is that the lines are drawn over the ItemizedOverlay items, no matter the order i add them to the mapView.getOverlays().

I want the lines on the bottom of all overlays. is there a way to do that.

This is Android's spec # 3G WCDMA (1700/2100 MHz) # Quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) I am not sure about the upcoming 3G bands in India. Can any one clarify this?

Android : How To Check Whether Droid I Bought Is Brand New?

Jul 23, 2010

I am currently travelling at Hongkong, here in Mongkok district of Hongkong, there are hundreds of shops selling mobile phones at 'quite cheap' prices. I just bought a HTC desire, it was sealed with plastic, and the storekeeper said that it was a HTC desire with warranty. For HKD 4100. I wanted to buy 2 units, one for my sister. But the store only has 1. So I went to a store next door, and the storekeeper said what I just bought must have been a 'refurbished' one. He said the normal price in HK should be around HKD4250 - HKD4300. Question is, Are there really any method to check whether this new phone I just bought isn't a refurbished one? or a second hand sold as a new unit ? seeing me as a foreigner, they would think I am easier to trick.
