Oct 22, 2012I would like to install just Google Play (Market) without the other GApps. I tried a couple of APKs that I found floating around the forums, but none seem to work.
Are there some additional dependencies (like the Google account, for example) which I need to install in order to use Play? I am trying to avoid any Google synch and also don't need GMail, Talk, etc. Installing them just to remove them with Titanium or something seems counter-intuative.

Jul 2, 2012I've recently won a Dell Streak 5, but it appears to have been shipped without the Market or Play apps - when trying to download through the Google Play site, it tells me to open the shopping bag icon on my device - unfortunately, their isn't one!
I had a Dell Streak previously (until some git stole it on a train - I will find you Mr Thief, if you're reading) so i know market is available on the device - my g-mail account even contains all the old apps i have paid for when i was last using the same device
i'm aware i can probably install non-market apps using apk files, but due to laziness i really want to avoid this.

Jun 20, 2012I'm looking for a way to download some FREE apps from google play without having the market installed. To make a long story short: I don't like the market to know what my phone runs. So is there any software I could download there free app "My Callya" with? Have looked everywhere on the interwebs, but can't find it. I'd be more than happy about a download link to it though.

General :: Can't Break New Google Play Market 3.5.15 Link Anymore
Apr 3, 2012so my google play market has updated again and with this new verison 3.5.15 all the apps that i've have had broken the market link to have been relinked to the market and when i try and break the market link again it says that it can't connect to the market DB. which i believe is to the new update of the market to version 3.5.15.
i was using mybackup pro with mytoolbox to break the market link,,, it is the newest version of the apps.
General :: Nexus 5 - Google Play Music / Song Play For A Second Then Pauses
Nov 7, 2013Recently I've been having an issue with Google Play Music where when I play a song, it plays for a second then pauses, so I have to press play to get it going again. This occurs repetitively which means I can't listen to music.
It happens on songs that are being streamed and on songs that are on the device.
Funnily enough, if the song is played through ES file explorer and the little play music popup window comes up, it plays fine.
I've got this issue on both my devices, a tf101 running 4.3 and a nexus 5 with stock 4.4 rooted.
Edit: just remembered, I've also got this issue with MX Player and videos. I can't figure out what's wrong.
Streamed videos played through the gallery video player work fine.

I have a folder of .apks of my programs that I use in case I need to wipe my phone, and I hate having to query the market everytime I need to re-download one of my apps.What I'd like to do is be able to generate a functional .apk file from an application I already have installed.

Nov 22, 2012just trying out Google Play Music today. I'm confused though as I have around 10000 music files sitting in a folder on Google drive. I can't see an option to ask Google Play Music to look into Google Drive and upload the music from there. I have connected my Google play music app on my nexus 7 to my Google account' but nothing seems to happen. Surely Google is able to connect two parts of its cloud together and I don't have to re upload everything?

I'm trying to figure out if the Google Play Music app tells Google what songs I'm listening to, or sends any other information to Google for that matter. If so, is there a way to turn that function off?
I know many people don't have an issue with letting Google know these kinds of things about them and that's fine. I'd just rather not. I didn't use Apple's genius recommendations on my iPhone either.

General :: Purchased Apps No Longer Showing In Play Market
May 16, 2012yesterday I reflashed a tablet with a clean install of cm7, factory reset clear cache etc. Latest Gapps.
I set up the main account with a gmail account I made for my kids because the device is mainly used by them. I added my own google account so it can be used with the play store to redownload all the apps I have purchased for them. I have set the play store to use my google account.
But all the apps I have previously paid for have their price listed beside them in the store, rather than saying "purchased". If I try to buy them again it gives me message saying there was an error with the transaction.I have set up a device with 2 accounts like this before and it worked ok.

Mar 11, 2012Usually Amazon App Store purchase or accidental force attach to Market/Play Store with Titanium backup, apps show up as purchased, but cannot be bought or installed. An error is given that states: 'The download of "app name" was declined because you haven't purchased it.'Detaching said apps from Market/Play store with Titanium backup has worked for me for ONE paid app, (I think) but not others.
Examples: NFS: Hot Pursuit worked, but Shadowgun, Soundhound: Infinity, Mixologist and others still show up as purchased. I've downgraded to earlier Market and detached, detached and cleared Market data and then rebooted, any number of combinations to no avail.
I contacted Play Store support, they said there's a special division working on this issue, and I received an email saying they'd contact me if they needed any details.

Nov 22, 2009How about they make a form of payment, by phone. Meaning they bill your phone, instead of using a credit card. Because a lot of us do not have a credit card, thus not able to buy applications. I would really like it if they managed to do such thing, because I would be one of their number 1 customers.

Feb 12, 2014I've just flashed my Nexus S with CM11 M3 last night. Works awesome but i have one big problem i cant get rid of: When i try to download anything from Google Play i get a download error 403 message. what i have tried to fix this:

- clear proxy from apn
- clear cache/data for framework and play store/services
- flash this rom again
- flash gapps twice.

I have a little Problem with PlayStore! I dont get any Notifications about new Updates in the Taskbar.
Notification for Updates is activated, automatic Updates over WiFi is disabled. I reseted GooglePlayStore allready.
In PlayStore there are Updates but i get no Notification in the taskbar ...
