I have a 720p video that I am trying to play on GS. The image is amazing by the way. But I can't hear any audio (works fine on my PC). Anything wrong with the audio codec used?

Im new here and just wanted an opinion on some info i just received about these 2 processors. I was originally under the impression that the hummingbird processor is faster but have been informed that infact the ti omap is actually a faster processor but lacks the better gpu. also was informed that the memory the droid x uses is faster than the Samsung galaxy s phones. Is this info correct and is this why froyo 2.2 is not giving me any kind of performance boost. the droid x my family has seems to of benefited greatly from the 2.2 update and is making my fascinate look like a out dated piece of equipment.

Since a 1Ghz OMAP processor doesn't really have the zing that the Snapdragon and the Humminbird processors do... what would you name it?
My top 3 choices are:
1. 1Ghz Cheetah processor (for fastest land animal)
2. 1Ghz Falcon processor (for fastest diving bird in air)
3. 1Ghz Veyron processor (for fastest production car)
It doesn't have to deal with speed, it could deal with power or finesse. Whatever you'd like. hehe Lets see some creativitiy!

So this article from Gizmodo (Motorola Droid 2 Photos and Specs Leaked) says that the Droid 2 has the 750mhz OMAP processor but most other sites say 1Ghz OMAP. Which is it? Girlfriend wants to go Android but I won't let her buy anything but a 1Ghz phone. What do you say?

I was looking at the Droid X to be my first Android phone and was curious about the supported video codecs. What files are supported and would the files supported on the Droid X be different from the Incredible or is it the same for all Android phones? Are there apps that offer better support?

I am developing a video rating tools which use Android's MediaPlayer class to playback the video sequences. I used the APIdemo at Android SDK to playback my encoded sequences but the picture stalled at the first frame on the emulator. Since I didn't have the commercial Android phone so I don't know whether this problem comes from my video coding profiles or the emulator itself. Here are the two sequences I used to test:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5I4AGSCX [url] I use x264 to encode, with baseline profile and bitrate=400k, fps=30or25.
And by the way, how can I install an apk package to the Zoom2 MDP, besides using the adb tools. I am wondering there's someone who is familiar with Zoom2 and Android so I put the question here.

Are there DivX codecs for the Dolphin HD browser? I have found some sites where I watch tv shows, megavideo is good but you can only watch so much before you can't watch anymore so I found another that actually has better quality but there files are divx files, I need some codecs like I had to get for my computer. I got Rockplayer but that does not work to stream them.

I have copied about ten albums of mp3s onto my HTC Desire but only about one in five of the tracks will actually play. Windows Media Player doesn't have a problem with any of them.
I've tried playing with the default music player and Meridian with the same result. Has anyone seen this?
Is it possible to install more codecs on the Android? Is that even the problem?

This is 2010. I refuse to believe that you can only play movies/video files that have .avi, .mp4, .mpg, .mkv file formats by converting. I remember Sony was slow on the uptake when they started the media server streaming which I use on a daily basis at home now.Is there a program that will decode the files as you stream them? Any codecs to install on the Droid X? I have thousands of video files and "converting" is time consuming not to mention creating two video files instead of one to play on devices. Converting is BS and whoever thought "Let's just have the users convert the video files" needs to take a long walk off a short pier.

I connected my phone via USB to my RR sport to upload audio files to the RR hard drive. However, I keep getting connection error. Apparently my device is not being recognized as a storage. I did the unmount thinking. Also, I am wondering how I can play audio from my phone through the RR audio system.
RR is 2010.

just started using the Pandora music app, but my kids in the back seat could not hear it. so I stopped by Walgreens and picked up the "JUPITOR JACK". you can't miss it cause it has the big red ad: "AS SEEN ON TV". it works well enough, but I had to tweak my car audio system to make it decent. whatever the droid plays comes out on the car radio, it's better then my old belkin FM transmitter.

I want to use the codecs in Android from my application. For now I just want to use the H.264 codec for testing, unless the mp3 or aac codecs provide functions for sending the audio to the device's speaker in which case I would prefer one of those.I have the NDK installed along with Cygwin, GNU Make, and GNU Awk. I can't figure out what I need to do from here though. I'm downloading the entire OpenCORE tree right now but I don't even know how to build it or make Eclipse plugin know it needs to include the files. An example or a tutorial would be much appreciated.EDIT:It looks like I can use JNI like P/Invoke which would mean I don't have to build the OpenCORE libraries myself. However, I can't find any documentation on the names of the libraries I need to load. I'm also confused as to how to do it. I'm looking at http://www.koushikdutta.com/2009/01/jni-in-android-and-foreword-of-why-jni.html and I don't understand what the purpose of writing a library to access a library is. Couldn't you just use something like System.loadLibrary("opencore.so")?

Is there an Android equivalent to the iOS Core Audio / Audio File Stream Services? I need to be able to read audio bytes from a network and feed them to the audio system under my control, so I can do my own timeouts / reconnects / range requests / etc. without interrupting the audio playback (since the system audio thread would be playing audio already enqueued). It seems that MediaPlayer doesn't give me this level of control. Is there a lower-level framework that does, either in the SDK or NDK?

I am writing an widget application for android.
I have a requirement where i need to disable the widget on some intent, i.e., I have the remove the widget from the android home screen and remove from menu options so that the user cannot add the widget further.
I have to enable the widget on some intent, so that, the framework automatically adds the widget to the home screen, by calculating the empty position available on the home screen, and the many option re-appears in order to add the widget further.
Please let me know if this can be possible..
