For anyone that hasnt already seen or used DoubleTwist,
Its an app for the phone, and a PC program that allows you to sync
movies, music, pictures and apps.
The phone app now has a decent media player built in.
The PC part now allows you to browse apps on the market and mp3s from
amazon.
The 2 parts combined allow you to sync iTunes playlists etc using a very
'iTunes' like interface.
I've only had it 2 days, but it does seem very useful, and may appeal to other people who have come from an iPhone and are used to the iTunes way of doing things.

So I got doubleTwist hoping for a nice easy sync to get all of my music from iTunes onto my phone. The problem is that I haven't purchased songs on itunes in over a year and I guess now they have something called iTunesPlus, which costs $0.30/song to upgrade to (and remove DRM) and doubleTwist can't convert my iTunes purchases to a playable format due to DRM protection. Is there another music sync service for Android that you guys would recommend that can help me actually put the music that I already paid for once on my phone? I'm not interested in giving Jobs another $182 just to listen to music I already paid for.

Ever since I downloaded DoubleTwist it's a hit or miss if it recognizes my device. I plug it in using the usb and then open DowbleTwist and my device does not show up. I have tried switching it from Charge Only mode to Disk Drive Mode and neither work. Sometimes I can open DoubleTwist and it does recognize my device. I don't understand why it's hit or miss?

everytime i sync with DT and my Evo, the pics come out small. for instance, i have hi res pics, 4mb perfect pics from my wedding. when i sync, the pics only show up 1/2 the screen size. when i expand it out, it looks like crap. there are no settings within DT that do anything to pics or music or anything. just where your library is. thats it. does anyone have any tips for me? i have like 20gb of pics i used to sync with itunes and my iphone. turned out to be bewteen 3-4gb once they were resized to the iphone specs (within itunes obviously). i am looking to do this exact same thing. i want all my pics, but the 20gb will obviously not fit on the 8gb SD card, nor a 16 if i had to buy.

DoubleTwist started acting strange so I removed it and reinstalled it but now it won't draw songs or list songs from my SD card. Anyone else using it and having this problem?

Is any body having this problem, where podcast subscription do not refresh, and I changed the the source folder for video, music and pictures and the doubletwist do not change at all, it doesn't refresh to the new folders. This is a nightmare.

I have a Google Nexus phone with Jelly Bean.For some reason doubleTwist will not see it as a device in the left column.
Running Mac OS X 10.6.8 and using the Android File Transfer app.

I've been using DoubleTwist to sync music between my Eris and my MacBook Pro without any problems for the last few weeks. The last two times I've synced, however (yesterday and today), that has changed. After syncing, I go through the usual disconnecting procedure (unmount from computer, unmount from phone, remove cord, etc)... except it tells me that my SD card is damaged, and won't read anything. So, I have to format the thing, and then re-load everything back on. SD card has had NO other issues. I can load music (or pictures, or contacts, or anything else) onto the SD card either from Windows, or just using drag-and-drop in the Mac OS, without any 'damaged SD card' issues.
Anybody else have this problem? I've noticed it seemed to coincide with Doubletwist telling me, for the first time, that I needed to "update" purchased iTunes songs or they wouldn't play... could be a red herring, but odd that after my machine gave me that warning for the first time, my SD card needed to be wiped.

Just wanted to give you ya'll a heads up on a program thats been around but all may not be familiar with named DoubleTwist. Its a FREE PC program that will auto convert video to the correct codec & framerate of the EVO (& other devices). The program also syncs music & pics as well. Brand new to captivate. Finally setup doubletwist to transfer my previous ringtones. I could only set up a folder in music and so did that. Now I am trying to link to them and all I get is library. Are the ringtones in the wrong location? The basic process of setting it to a contact (as listed in many places) doesnt seem to work.

Doubletwist on my mac synced my itunes music library to the internal storage, not my new 32GB micro sd card. Try as I might I can't seem to find any setting to select this. Both internal and 32GB were mounted in Finder. Should I have unmounted the internal storage? Or is something else appropriate? What about copying the Music folder from the internal to the 32GB?

Didn't know if anyone had a similar problem or a fix. Google voice is working fine, but after installing doubletwist, about 80% of the time after I hang up a call, Doubletwist will launch automatically and play a random song. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Doubletwist, but no change.
Any ideas other than uninstall and leave off Doubletwist?

I downloaded doubletwist a few days ago and I can't get the program on my computer to see my Droid. I have no problems connecting to my compter, and the auto mount option works, but without it recognizing my Droid I can't sync anything. I have tried this on 2 different PCs with no luck. Both are running XP SP3. Is there something additional I need to do to my Droid to make it findable?

I have been using Doubletwist for a few months with no problem on my HTC Hero. A new update came up and now it will not find my phone. I uninstalled and reinstalled but still no fix. Now I am trying to manually move files and still having problems. When I hook my phone to my computer using USB and then mount the phone, I still cant get the computer to find the phone. I am using Windows 7. Any advice?

Talk crap if you want but I am tired of going to different sites or apps to get all of my media content. Is there an itunes like app where I can download podcasts, movies, music, tv shows, etc from ONE CENTRALIZED PLACE. I know about doubletwist and the others but in my opinion this is one thing that will help shoot android past apple. Say what you will but the fact is that most people who have an android phone don't know how to use it, and want a simple go to place that they can get their media from. As much as I love my phone, I have come to realize that 99% of the people that I know or have met with an android phone only bought it for the trend factor. From my point of view I think that this specific group is willing to spend money and voraciously consume media. The easier things like this are made, the easier it will be for android to thrive.

I guess I cant bread the addiction for certain iphone apps. Im looking for something that can transfer playlists over from itunes. Not just drag and drop a bunch of music. I know I can build playlists while I use the music app or doubletwist. But it would a million easier and faster to do it from my computer

For those of you coming from iPhones/iPods and have massive clean & organized music with iTunes, there is indeed a way to sync your music for free to your android phone. If you like it, support the project, the software I'm about to talk about is free.
iTunes Agent - Windows based software that reads iTunes, keeps organization and brings the files to your Android Phone.
iTuneMyWalkman - Mac users that are smart enough to know that there are other Mp3 players other than iPods, install this software instead of iTunes Agent.
1.) Download iTunes Agent,
2.) ---> Once Installed, the software will run in the system tray.
3.) Plug in your Android (EVO 4G in this guide.) and mount it as a hard drive. The software is going to write files to your SD Card.
4.) ---> Create a folder on your SD Card titled Music. I will explain why below.

This has probably been asked before, but I can't find it. So I have a folder of MP3s on my laptop, and the same MP3s on my Vibrant. If I want something that would sync the two -- delete from laptop and it delete from phone, add to laptop and it adds to phone, etc. -- what's the best app for that?
