I am so disgusted with all of the Facebook apps and widgets. I'm also sick and tired of constantly being brought back to one FB app or another when I'm trying to just use the browser. Is there a way to disable all of the FB crap altogether and just use the browser?

I have the X10 and recieved a text message in the early hours of the morning. The green LED which flashes to notify of the event is actually quite bright in a dark room and ended up waking me up (in fact, I was quite confused at first as to what on earth it could be lol!). Does anyone know if there is an app which controls either the brightness of the LED notification or can disable the LED notification altogether?

How can I get rid of this popup altogether? I see where you can change the style of it..Full/Lite/Without Quick Reply, but no way to get rid of it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedFirst off let me say that of all browsers I've tried so far. This is by far my favorite. Except one really annoying thing which keeps me from using it. There are tabs that come out if you sidescroll preventing me from sidescrolling the page also preventing me from selecting text. Anyone know how to disable or work around this?

All browsers (default, dolphin, steel, UC) interpret tap&drag on a website as scrolling. I don't want this. Ideally, I want it to be registered as mouse actions. Is there a way to do this?

I'm building a mobile site and have the following meta tag set in the header:

Unfortunately, this isn't working on HTC devices (HTC Hero, etc) with Android 2.1. Any ideas on how I can disable pinch-to-zoom in this browser? Works fine on the iPhone.
I just got the OTA 2.2 update and love the speed of Froyo...it REALLY is faster that 2.1. BUT its not fast enough to run flash properly on some pages. IGN.com is one site that its just to choppy to scroll around properly. I'd rather have speed and smoothness than flash and I don't see any options to disable flash.
Anyone know if it can be disabled and where is the option? And by disable it I mean give the static image....not the green arrow in the white box. The reason is because some pages do not render properly when flash is disabled. A HUGE white box covers a lot of the screen. One example is IGN.com.
Also on a side note, everything else to me was extremely fast on 2.1 and the reason why most people can't tell 2.2 is faster is because they are looking at the fast things in 2.1 and trying to decide if its faster...which you can't really do...you have to look at whats slow. Its like seeing a car fly by...was it going 90 or 100? Hard to tell....but I'm sure you can tell between a car going 20 or 60.
Below are a couple of things in 2.2 is definetely faster than 2.1 for me.
1. Scrolling through text messages is much smoother than 2.1
2. There was a slight 1 - 2 second delay in 2.1 when going to bookmarks (using the thumbnail option)...I guess to load up the images...it is now much quicker. Also, scrolling through the thumbnail bookmarks is a lot quicker.
After TWO hard resets I cannot get my Evo to vibrate in any way shape or form. It vibrates upon hitting the power button on initial boot up and that is all. It won't on notifications, haptic feedback, ringing, etc.

View 4 Replies View RelatedComing from an iPhone to the Fascinate, I've noticed that the pinch to zoom feature in the browser auto-fits the text after the zoom in. On my iPhone that didn't happen. I can see where auto-fit would come in handy, but there are times I don't want the layout of the site to change. I just want to zoom it a little - I'll happily finger scroll to the left, right, up, or down to read something.
Is there a way to disable the auto-fit on the zoom-in for the stock browser? I know there are other browsers out there, but I'm asking about the stock browser.
Perhaps this is a feature coming in 2.2?

The thing is most of the website i browse during the day i don't really need javascript plus if i use roaming i can browse a lot of more with my restricted data plan but some times for certain site i really need javascript or they don't even work or work really bad.
I tought would be really useful a shortcut wich enable/disable javascript on demand with just one click instead of going in setting every time.Do you think is possible trought a bookmarklet enable or disable js?Do you know other browsers at the same level of dolphin with this feature?

View 1 Replies View Relatedmy brother has a ghetto tmobile phone running 1.6 or thereabouts, and I didn't get too close of a look at it. just played with it for about 5 minutes, but he can drag icons anywhere on his screen... like if you uncheck 'align icons to grid' in windows. So you can clump up icons wherever you want, instead of being stuck with this perfect grid layout.
I know ADW (or launcher pro) allow you to say '5x5' on the home screen, allowing 25 instead of 16, or whatever, but there's no way to unlock the grid altogether?
Verizon was bad enough but at least I knew going in that I would have My Verizon. I am getting real sick of UNREMOVEABLE crap ware or features, some just showing up on my phone. One day it's Kindle, now it's Places. I keep waking up to new junk or built in ahem...features that I don't want and can't remove. Let see - this is what I can't remove so far: Amazon MP3 - Don't play music on phone, don't need it Yeah I know I can root but I don't want to be an Android guru. I just want to use the phone to make calls and use the Apps that I want vs what Google or Verizon thinks is the greatest thing since milk. Jeez - people complain about Jobs having to much control with Apple, this isn't that much different. I feel better but I hope Google and Verizon can YOU HEAR ME NOW. Let us remove this useless junk.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've read about a possible grounding issue with the some screens, but I haven't read about the issue I'm having. Randomly the touchscreen will stop working... It doesn't matter what I have open it will just stop working. The system is still running, calendar alerts will pop up, and the time will still advance, but I can't do anything with the phone and have to pull the battery and force a reboot to get the screen to respond. I initially thought maybe it was an app, but this has happened with nothing running except the default apps.

I decided to delete the launcher from the phone and intended to download it again but now the phone keeps saying "The application HTC Sense (process com.htclauncher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." then a big button saying force close to push. I keep pushing and it keeps coming back up and I cant do a single thing about it?

Then they got creative with the ticker display on the Continuum and other phones. All the phones had the nice, shiny but plasticy look but I'm okay with it. But it seems like now that Samsung is making just blah phones and slapping the word Galaxy S on it and calling it a day. The Galaxy SII is pretty nice but some phones like the Samsung Illusion don't even have a flash camera anymore. I really hope Samsung and Verizon puts their thinking caps back on and really start hurling more phones like the Galaxy Nexus out onto the sales floor.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have just received my D2-G this evening. I upgraded from my HTC Droid Eris and man is it an upgrade! I used appbrain to move all of my apps and stuff and the D2-G is fast as heck compared to the Eris. My only problem is that I am getting overwhelmed by all of the CRAP that comes on the phone. I know it has more to offer than my previous but GEEZE is moto and vzw trying to kill me with all of this stuff on the phone? So, I have checked out the posts over the past couple of days on the D2 and I am guessing that there isn't much difference between the D2 and the D2-G aside from the obvious. Now I am just wanting to simplify the phone and get it down to the goods and avoid the bads. I was hoping out the gate to be able to watch netflix on the phone but that doesn't seem to be the case at all (I travel a lot and I also sit and wait a lot). So, maybe someone can point me in the right direction to explain all that this new beast can do and what I need not worry about (as a simple guy who isn't trying to OC the phone and take over the world).

Its like the colors are all faded looking. I have shot some nice looking pictures with my phone before but for some reason here lately they look horrible! Anybody else notice this with their phone when your uploading to a website? I do have photoshop mobile so maybe I should try and edit them first before I upload a picture next time.

I tried doing a search on the forums and a google search but couldn't remember the key words, author or name.
The X10 seems like an ok phone but I have a few issues..
1. In call volume is unacceptable
2. Wifi is useless
3. Most of the apps are largely crap
I've had the X10 for a few months and overall i'm disappointed. As far as I'm concerned apple have the content/apps on lockdown and all the droid apps i have seem vastly inferior.Will the 2.1 update improve my experience or should i cut my losses and pay for an upgrade to the iphone or comparable droid handset?
I returned my first captivate due to annoying buzzing from the ear speaker during calls. I figured the speaker was blown. On my second one the sound was much less apparent but it was still kind of there. Its been about a week now and I believe it is now just as bad as the first one I had. Are these speakers really blown or just really crappy quality?
