Sep 30, 2009is there a way to change the default orange selection color/image? I'd like to do this app wide and it would be nice not to have to do it for every control!

By default, android shows the selected view with background as orange. I want to show the view background color as red.
2. In the same way, I want the same behaviour should be applied to whole application.

Android :: Default Selection Not Working
Oct 12, 2010I hope, my issue would be clear for you from my question title. I have three linear layouts in each row of the list view. One linear layout contains an Imageview and the other two linear layout contains text views. These three linear layouts comprise my list view row. But, to my surprise, the listview default selection(orange colored) does not work when I move the trackball of mouse or when I select it from the phone.

Motorola Droid X :: Undo Email Default Selection
Jul 17, 2010I mistakenly selected one of two email accounts on my X -- as being the "Default"
This was a mistake, as I really should have kept the setting dynamic -- so I could chose to send from either account.
Now I can't undo that default setting -- nor can I even switch the default to the other email account.
Here's how I got to the menu in question:
GUI Messaging Icon > Left Menu Button > Messaging Settings > Email > Default Email Account
Anyone know how I can undo this default setting -- and put myself back in the position of being able to select which account to use dynamically?

Jun 7, 2010Wasn't sure exactly how to ask this, but here we go So, for example, I installed "Dialer One", a dialer replacement.So whenever I hit the "Phone" button, it asks how I want to complete the action. Using Dialer One, or Phone. And it gives me the option to "Use by default for this action".So, lets say I want to use Dialer One by default, but then I change my mind. How do I set it back to the default Phone.Obviously, this question applies to more than just the phone app. After writing all that I think the simple way to ask my question is- I really just want to know how to undo the 'use by default for this action' choices I may make in the future.

Aug 4, 2009I'm trying to use Spinner as a button with selection pop-up. Basically I want an icon and when user clicks it - the popup list is displayed and user can make a selection. The Spinner happily accepts icon image as drawable background. Unfortunately when I select a value the text overlays the background. Is it possible to set selection text color as a transparent? Or maybe there's a better way?

Dec 18, 2009Has anyone else noticed this? While responding to a SMS (using the physical keyboard), I will hit the "Enter" button on the keypad to send the message. Once it's sent, I will close the slider and hit the Home button (or Back button to get to my conversation list) to get back to the home screen, and either the "Message" icon or "Phone" icon is highlighted (has the default orange background) and you have to touch something on the home screen to make it go away.
I know this isn't anything HUGE, just a minor annoyance that happens to me. I have restarted the phone, but it still does it about 70% of the time. Curious if anyone else has noticed this or if it was just a specific glitch on my phone?

Feb 22, 2010I'm not rooted with anything, however I am running Open Home. I also installed the Windows7 Icon Pack for use. However, I wish to change some of the icons it defaults to when I load them up (particularly the Market icon, which defaults to the Recycle Bin).Is there a way to do this manually? or do I need to download another software from the market? I see some people mentioned "Better Cut" but I'm unsure if that does what I am asking, or if it is just a replacement for Open Home.I'm not too savvy poking around the Android OS at the root.

Aug 18, 2010Is there any way to change the default location of R.java file which is getting created in "gen" folder? By default R.Java will get created in gen folder under the package (of the application) directory. I have a common code (with UI) which has to go with different applications with different package names/branding. When ever I change the package name in manifest file, R.java will created inside that package so I have to change the import statement in all the files with the new location of R. How I can avoid it? Also is there is any provision to have two or more R files in one application?

May 29, 2010I recently downloaded Panda Home and the iPad theme.I am happy with the design! Part of why I wanted to change the default was to have more Home screens so I could scroll horizontally to view my apps (like the iPhone; I am not trying to be like the iPhone.I just do appreciate certain design factors!).Is there a way to change the default location of the apps to the various Home pages? Or do I have to manually shift each one? For some reason, I find the vertical tray not as helpful or easy to access, although now that I can jump to apps by letter, that does make it better.

Dec 28, 2013I have an LG G2 and I am using a pair of LG Tones. Whenever I click the Hands-Free button it automatically launches the Android voice dialer. It is slow, unaccurate, and obnoxious. I can use my Tones along with other voice assistant apps but I cannot change the app that is automatically launched after clicking the Hands-Free button. After all, that's why I have the Tones. I wanted to know if there was a way to substitute the default Android dialer.
Other info:
Clearing the defaults is not an option. It came as the default.
Disabling the voice dialer makes the Hands-Free button do nothing. (Interstingly enough, when trying to use my play/pause button it also wouldn't work. The other functions like volume and forward and previous track may also not have worked but I don't know I didn't try. After re-enabling the voice dialer all functions resumed functioning.)
Conclusion: I love my phone and my tones but this Voice Dialer is horrendous. Even on my S4, the default is S Voice which is even better than this.
HTC Hero :: Changing Default Browser?

Is it possible to change the "default" browser?That is, in some apps I have the option of "viewing in browser", but these always take me to a page using the default browser. One such example is "NewsRob" with its "Browser" menu option when viewing an article.

Oct 24, 2010I keep having to change my default ringtone to my choice, for some unknown reason, it keeps getting changed back to default. I have rings extended and have changed most of my contacts ringtones and they have stayed, but whenever I go to settings and change it and then either shut my phone off, plug it in, whatever, it causes it to go back to default. I have tried ringdroid and that seems to only work as a ringtone maker, it will not show up in the menu to change tones like Rings Extended does. I also moved my ringtones to an appropriate folder for access. I also have adw launcher now (previously Launcherpro plus-which made no difference)

Seen em with checkerboard pattern across his midsection. Never seen a completely custom without the robot tho. My question is how do you change that screen and is the robot not removable? Can I just put some random picture that I think is cool at the time? Oh and how do I change the color of the call button and battery icon, if theres a way without installing other apps to do it?

May 2, 2010I have multiple Gmail accounts on my Incredible and I want to switch my original default to one of the other ones. When you go under Settings>Sync...> it has the four Gmail accounts, with only one giving you the option to sync calendar. I want to sync the calendar of one of the others, not that one, and I can't figure out how to switch it. Also, the account is showing up as my Google log in for Maps. I've found an option to make the Gmail portion your default but no overall Google default.

May 24, 2010Every time I answer or make a call, the in-call volume is automatically set to the highest level. I'll manually bump it down two or three notches and it sounds fine, but then it goes right back to maximum volume for the next call. May 6, 2012First off, I maintain a Sidekick 4G ROM, and it's been pretty successful so far. But, the default Launcher in system/app is launcher2.apk and it works no mistake about it. But I want to change this launcher to FTL (Faster Than Light) because it performs a lot better for the scenario I'm in. However, I remove the launcher2.apk, and include the FTL.apk, and after flashing I'm left without a launcher, even renaming the FTL.apk to launcher2.apk doesn't work. I even went into META-INF folder and changed the name lowveld to CERT (like it is in most launchers)
