HTC Hero :: Adding Facebook Events To Calendar
Nov 29, 2009There is a very good chance I'm being a bit dense here and this is really simple but is it possible to add events from Facebook into the default calender app of the Hero?I use Babbler as my Facebook app if that makes a difference?Also - while I'm here and asking dense questions is the default calender app the same calender I should use to sort out my Google calender that I use online?

Jul 19, 2010Anytime I click to add a new event it always defaults to "My Calendar"(phone built in one) as the Calendar it is going to add it too.I have checked my settings and I only have my google calendar checked so it shows all of those events.The "My Calendar" is unchecked too. But it always wants to add it to that one, not google. Any ideas how to change this? Or if not, is there another calendar app you could recommend I use instead of the stock then?This is really annoying that every event I have to change and select Google.I use google calendar for everything, and if I forget once it could cause a lot of problems. Plus, I don't want to think about having to change it manually EVERY EVENT!

Oct 27, 2010I have a simple overlay for a Google Map: http://pastebin.com/Rg8miMSh and I add/remove items on it depending on the zoom level. After removing/adding I call populate on the overlay and invalidate on the map view. Everything works just fine, except 1 glitch: after an item was removed, if I tap its location onTap is still triggered and because the OverlayItem is not there anymore i get java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException in com.google.android.maps.ItemizedOverlay.maskHelper(ItemizedOverlay.java: 562) (full stack trace - http://pastebin.com/KThn4ZLE )
Anyone knows why this is happening or how to fix it? Initially i called clear and added all items all over again which didn't seems to cause this problem. However having many items this was becoming a performance issue. Adding/removing only the difference works much faster and I would like to keep this method.

May 18, 2009I have an ActivityGroup containing three embedded Activities (A, B and C). Sometimes I need to "destroy" A and B to start another one, D, and when D is finished, A and B are re-created. Is it possible? If so, how can I do it?

Jan 13, 2010I have an iCal calendar at work that's on a password-protected server which I'd like to add to my Google calendar (and subsequently, my Droid).I have the URL for it, and can enter the URL into Google's "Add Calendar" setting, but nothing's showing up because,I'm guessing, my iCal is waiting for a password.I don't see any way to add that to the "Add Calendar" setting.

Jun 15, 2010I did a search but cant seem to find an answer. I finally got my work email set up through active sync. Is there a way to get the calendar events to show up on my google calendar? I use calendar pro which I love. I don't know if there is a work around or I am just not knowledgable enough to understand it. A for instance would be that my work email gives me an event or invite...it will show up on the phones calendar but not on my google calendar/events. (my google notification each morning may say "no events scheduled for the day" but phone calendar/calendar pro will show it)

Like add a work event and then add a vacation event. I can add an event in any category (calendar) but can't switch it.also, I would like to make the default alarm to be off when adding event (lowest I can find is 5 minutes for default)

With the the methods I already have I could check the ID of the calendar I want to work with, which is 5. I also could find out the ID of an event in that calendar which is 87. May 21, 2009If we add a repeat event in the calendar, we are unable to get the end day till when the event shall last. There is field "duration" in the events table in the database which gives us an encoded format string like "P300S" for repititive events. We are unable to decode as to what this string will mean. All of the sudden, her calendar is completely empty and can't see mine anymore.But on mine, I still see all of her events and see it listed as one of my Calendars both in Google Calendars and on my phone.Everything looks perfect on my end but everything is back to square one on hers.Any ideas how to restore her calendar or what may have caused it.I am afraid that just starting hers over is going to start duplicating events in mine.

Jan 28, 2010Does anyone know how to view events from more than one gmail calendar?Unfortunately, the Android Google apps (both gmail and calendar) DO NOT allow more than one account. What is up with that?? iPhone, Palm, and Blackberry all do this natively.Anyhow, I thought I was being clever by sharing my calendar between my personal gmail and my corporate gmail accounts. As a result, I can now see my work events on my personal calendar while in the browser. BUT.... from my Android, the shared events DO NOT appear! Why? Why? I downloaded a few other calendar apps from the Market but they all rely on the built in calendar... so none of them do any better.Is there a solution to this problem or is this another inherent Google fault?

I was going to write it as a service, and just have it check the calendar from time to time, but I found out that the SDK does not offer direct access to the Calendar yet. Jun 3, 2010I am having problems that when I manually or automatically sync my Gmail/Google calendar from my phone or - items and/or reminders are disappearing.
For instance, I am viewing my Gmail calendar and US Holidays Calendar in the Calendars view - I turned off/unchecked "My Calendar" and "PC Sync" calendar. I can add a reminder or two to father's day - which is June 20th and when I go back or press home I see it has saved the reminder and added a picture of a bell to the entry in my Agenda view. The reminder is there when I double check it.
But when I manually sync the calendar up with Google/Gmail sync in Accounts & sync OR let the Calendar automatically sync the alert will be taken off father's day.
I have had this problem with Events too... I will add a new event, it shows up and saves but I noticed it has disappeared from the Calendar after the sync has taken place.
Anyone else experiencing this? I looked at my Gmail/Calendar settings on the phone and Gmail online and can't find anything.
I have the HTC Incredible with Android 2.1.

Mar 13, 2010I have the calendar app on my Droid set to sync with my google calendar. There are events in my Droid's calendar that were deleted from the google calendar a long time ago. If I visit the google calendar website, I can confirm that these events are not in the google calendar, yet they still appear on my Droid. I have tried deleting and re_adding the calendar under the calendar app's settings as well as using the "manage applications" area to clear all the data associated with the calendar. The calendar the appears empty, but after the next sync, those events come back (even though they do not show up on the online google calendar). What can I do?
