I know it's possible because manufacturers are able to add custom UI sounds to the OS but I'm yet to locate the files to do so. I want to be able the default sounds that my phone came with like the Charger_connection.ogg and the Power_On.ogg which custom devs seem leave out of their builds for some reason.

There is a very good chance I'm being a bit dense here and this is really simple but is it possible to add events from Facebook into the default calender app of the Hero?I use Babbler as my Facebook app if that makes a difference?Also - while I'm here and asking dense questions is the default calender app the same calender I should use to sort out my Google calender that I use online?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI sent some custom ringtones to my new Incredible and I was able to set my ringtone to whichever one I pleased. They show up in the available ringtones. However, I cannot set the notification sound to one of these ringtones as they don't show up in the list of available sounds. Does anyone know how to add rings or sounds to the list of notification sounds?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAnytime I click to add a new event it always defaults to "My Calendar"(phone built in one) as the Calendar it is going to add it too.I have checked my settings and I only have my google calendar checked so it shows all of those events.The "My Calendar" is unchecked too. But it always wants to add it to that one, not google. Any ideas how to change this? Or if not, is there another calendar app you could recommend I use instead of the stock then?This is really annoying that every event I have to change and select Google.I use google calendar for everything, and if I forget once it could cause a lot of problems. Plus, I don't want to think about having to change it manually EVERY EVENT!

But I was recently having some GMail syncing issues and during the troubleshooting for that I uninstalled the latest GMail update and reinstalled it. As a result, GMail is now doing audible notificatrion sounds for new email when before I only had notification in t he notification bar. I can't seem to get it turned off. I still want calendar events and texts to sound so I don't want to silence the phone but I want email and GMail to be silent (Notification icon only).
View 5 Replies View RelatedI want to add a contact just to my phone and not to my gmail account.Whenever I start to add a contact (phone, 208544.menu, +contact, create new contact,) the next thing it forces me to do is to choose an account to create the new contact under and it lists my 3 gmail accounts.I have no option to just put it on the phone.Any ideas here?We do the same thing on the Incredible but it gives us the gmail account and the phone to choose from but not on the Motorola.

I noticed this first with reminders (not very useful to have a reminder that doesn't bring itself to your attention!) but then realized that no other notifications are coming up.
IIRC you used to be able to set high/low/off priority to notifications, but that was taken away at some point.

Cleared cache, force-stopped, uninstalled and re-installed Search, all no no avail.
Since a new firmware update my SMS app on Android 4.0 doesnt seem to play the incoming notification sound for new messages while the app is open.This did not happen before the update. I want it to play the sound every time not depending on wether its open or not.

When i used MonkeyRunner which by default comes with Android SDK, it records the actions only with co-ordinates.
I am trying to understand how tools like Ranorex or Squish works? They identify all the UI elements with their ID's and other properties of object repositories. How they are obtaining that?
I also tried to pull all the events of /dev/eventX folder which is hex vaules and i could convert them to decimals but how can i get the readable format of them or the object properties.

Depending on how long I touched the screen the sounds return immideadly or few seconds after I let go. When the sounds return it plays some of the sounds that should have played when I was touching the screen.
Android version is 4.1.1 and model number of the tablet is rk30sdk.

One of my biggest annoyances with android are the notification sounds. If I'm listening to music, I would still like the sound to play, but not completely drown out my music in the process.
Ideally the notification sound should play at a lower volume (say %25) over my music.
I'm looking for best application to manage notifications. Currently I use Light Flow but it don't allow me to set a different volume for different sounds and set up schedule (so at night my phone don't make any sounds).
Overall I want:
Different sounds for mails, sms, mms and others
Different LED blinking for mails, sms, mms and others
Different vibration pattern for mail, sms, mms and others
Different sounds for calls, mails, sms, mms and other WITH ABILITY to set up the volume separately. For example e-mail notification sound is always the lauded one even if RINGTONE VOLUME is set up for minimum (using physical vol buttons on phone).
Schedules - to set up that at night (00-07AM my phone don't make any noises.
My Google Calendar App syncs google calendar appointments just fine. But "Corporate" accounts, which include my Hotmail and GroupWise calendars, won't sync calendar appointments older than two weeks. Even worse: appointments from older than two weeks ago actually drop off.
On settings, I have it set to sync all. I tried adding and removing accounts. I tried deleting calendar memory/cache. I have even tried returning my Nexus 7. The replacement has the same issue.
I'm trying to work with a custom build of Android based on KitKat to incorporate a stylus, copying some of the functionality (though not code) from Samsung which sells Android-with-stylus builds for e.g. the Note 3. I'm not including details of the specific device because right now I am working on a custom dev device and my aim is to write code which is generic enough to be usable from any Android (based on KitKat). The build (written by others) already incorporates drivers and sends stylus events correctly as motion events etc. Programming at the app level I can receive onHover, ontouch, onClick etc
The specific functionality I am trying to achieve is to pick up a stylus-button-click while hovering. It's perfectly possible to do this in any app, using an onGenericMotion Listener.
However, I want to make my "stylus-action" have system-wide effect - so that anywhere (in any other app, or in the launcher or whatever) I will pick up the event (prior to any other app) and bring up my custom menu. (just like AirCommand in Samsung Note 3) I guess in my custom Android this would then make that particular action somewhat protected or unusable for other users, but I'm ok with that.
In older Android (prior to ICS) you could try something by putting up a System Overlay (i.e in regular app code, without hacking the ROM at all), but this is no longer possible.
This is not an attempt to tapjack or whatever, I understand why this functionality has been removed from the domain of the regular programmer, and I don't want to regress my ROM back to pre-ICS behaviour by allowing the System Overlay hack. Now I am programming the system (if my change is good enough I'd like to submit it back to AOSP) so I would like to know the best method to address this. Since Samsung have already done this, it must be legal (using legal in the terms of "Android will allow it"), and I want to do it right.
Is it possible to write something similar to the System Overlay when you are running from a system service? Or is there a good choke-point to capture events before they are broadcast to the current running apps?
I was looking at AndroidXRef /frameworks/base/core/java/android/view/View.java specifically in the function dispatchHoverEvent() which looks like a promising place. My naive idea is that I would place code here checking the MotionEvent to see if the button is pressed and if it is, don't call any listeners and instead call my little menu app (or broadcast a custom message, or something anyway). However, I've never written code on the ROM level before (LOTS of experience writing app code) so I don't know if this is a really bad point or a good point to add in code. Should I be putting things at a higher level or a lower one? Will this capture all events or not? Is it all just trial and error?
I accidentally cleared the data for my "Calendar Storage" on my HTC Wildfire S. Can I retrieve the events back for the calendar? I have never synced it with a gmail account either :S

View 3 Replies View RelatedI got the Droid Razr Maxx when it came out and I am having an issue with Facebook for Android notifications. Whenever I receive a notification my phones both vibrates and makes the notification sound twice really fast. How can I change this to only have it do this once? It does it so fast that it cuts off the first one before the sound is finished. I don't have any special song or anything set as the notification just one of the standard ones on the phone.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI stream music from Pandora and an app for local radio (tune in) quite a bit. But I've noticed a very annoying clicking/popping sound while listening. I've tried adjusting the stream quality in Pandora and the buffer amount in tune-in to no avail.
Tune-in has an option to change the current stream for the station if available (in my case aac to wma) and wma does not have the clicking sounds. My best guess is that Pandora uses aac to stream music.
