View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm currently running the CM6 rom on my DINC, and I guess I forgot to update my baseband version, which is preventing me from using WiFi, and my camcorder function. So I downloaded the baseband update.zip, and put it on the root of my microSD, formatted in fat32 btw. Hboot detects the update.zip, but for whatever reason can't install it. When I go into ClockworkMod Recovery, and choose the apply sdcard:update.zip option, after 'Writing RDL/BP image..." I get the error "E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip (status 0) Installation aborted".

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a rooted Droid Incredible currently running froyo (2.2) with a sky raider 2.0 ROM. I have attempted to install the PB31IMG.zip then the update.zip onto a rooted incredible then installed the sky raider ROM. I did not realize that the PB31IMG.zip did not successfully install. From what I could tell it unzips it then says that it cannot find the images. After downloading it to my PC before putting on the root of the SD card it wont let me open it and says that it is corrupt and could not create the file. However I am able to unzip it from my PC running XP. Basically My issue is that the sky raider 2.0 ROM only works with the version2 baseband and I have baseband 1.x version and cannot seem to get it updated. It is causing the wireless tether to not work and the camcorder. Sorry If i have provided too much detail or confusing. I have also tried to unroot but since it wont open the PB31IMG.zip i am unable to downgrade.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm currently using BBv.4 on my rooted Droid1 and I am still using the old baseband that came on the original stock ota 2.1 update1. I am always looking for ways to get more battery life out of my phone and that got me thinking. Technically I'm new to the whole smartphone scene and didn't get the whole hype about it until I got my Droid back in Dec. And since then have spent many hours learning about linux and researching the Android OS. Eventually I'm going to get into application development and coding. Everything I know is from research and trial and error on my Droid. The question I have is concerning the possible link between decreased battery life and the new baseband that is being pushed with the official Froyo ota update. I have not updated to an official 2.2 version so I can't compare the battery life between the two myself so I'm wondering if any of the more knowledgeable members of the forum ( you know who you guys are, lol) can help me out with this. The reason it is eating at me is because on Petes website there is a post on the forum about updating the baseband to the current version being used by Verizon instead of the one that was out in june with the same number. In the post it states the binary code is slightly different in the newer version. Could it be that something in the new version is effecting the battery life? Also, what is the downside of not updating my baseband if everything seems to be working properly. Sorry for such a long post but my mind is hungry for knowledge.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was bored today and decided to do the updating through my phone (not through SE Update Service), unlike the previous 3 weeks, it finally shows there is an update for my phone. I was so excited and immediately hit ok and start downloading. It took total about 30 minutes to download and update the phone. Seems like a major update. I was so happy thinking this has got to be the Android 2.1 firmware update. After updating, the phone automatically restarted itself. Took about 1 minute to restart. Right away, I went to the setting - about phone to check the software version. It still shows Firmware 1.6. But the baseband version is now 1.1.27 instead of 1.1.16 before. What is this baseband version?

Right now I am changing the package name in eclipse and changing the code manually, but this seems really inefficient. Can anybody suggest a good way of having 2 or more projects that share most of the code?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with 3g connenction since flashing galaxo1.6.1 coming from ii4 if i recall correct. after being disappointed of galaxo for that reason i decided to flash another custom 1.5 firmware (archers italy ROM) which runs perfectly except i also have the same problems with 3g (connection is working after boot, but only for a while then the 3g icon is still there but only the upload arrow blinks, and no data is coming in). some guy on a german forum told me he had the same problem untill he went back to ii5 which changed the baseband also and now 3g works perfect again. so i guess if i could flash only baseband from ii5 this could maybe solve my problem without having to flash 3 firmwares in a row. the only thing i do not know is how to do this, where in the package is the baseband located, and is it possible to do so?

View 1 Replies View RelatedOne thing that bothers me about my Android phone is the opaque, closed-source baseband firmware ("radio" as it's often called here). Since the baseband is interposed between the OS and most hardware functions, its firmware presents a major unknown in the total security of the device.
It's unlikely that the source code for any of this baseband firmware is going to be released, and the open source OsmocomBB baseband is a long way off from supporting Android or the dominant Qualcomm chips. But I would settle for decompiling an existing baseband firmware image, so that I can start to understand some things about it's behavior, and perhaps compile modified versions.
