View 2 Replies View RelatedI defined a LinearLayout:
<LinearLayout android:id="@+id/top_menu"
android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:orientation="horizontal"
android:background="@drawable/backrepeat" android:layout_height="wrap_content" >
<ImageView android:id="@+id/topLeft" android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_gravity="left"
android:src="@drawable/library_top_left"> </ImageView>
<ImageView android:id="@+id/topMiddle" android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_gravity="center"
android:src="@drawable/library_top_middle"/>
<ImageView android:id="@+id/topRight"
android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_gravity="right" android:src="@drawable/library_top_right"/>
</LinearLayout>
I'd like that one image is on the left side of the screen, one in the middle, and one on the right side. However all of them are on the left side.
Does the android listveiw has the method to achive this goal?
I woluld like to implement the function like listview in C# or vb,The users can adjust the
column width by themselves.
Is there a way to adjust the spacing between characters in an Android TextView? I believe this is typically called "kerning".
I'm aware of the android:textScaleX attribute, but that compresses the characters along with the spacing.
I want to be able to adjust my UI screen on Android when the soft keyboard pops up.
So at the minute I have something similiar to the first picture below where I have and EditText at the bottom of the screen and when a user taps the EditText I want the same as what happens in the second picture.
That is that the EditText gets moved up and appears to "sit" on top of the soft keyboard, when the soft keyboard dissapears it should then return to its prior state.
Can anyone let me know the best way to approach and implement this?
Is there any way in android to adjust the textsize in a textview to fit the space it occupies?
E.g. I'm using a TableLayout and adding several textviews to each row. Since I don't want the textviews to wrap the text I rather see that it lowers the font size of the content.
I have tried measureText, but since I don't know the size of the column it seems troublesome to use.
This is the code where I want to change the font size to something that fits
CODE:.................
In emulator, size of edittext and button looks nice but in motorola milestones, both of them are so small. I think there are different types of screen layout. Is it possible to adjust the size automatically?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got confused about whether the default value for android:windowSoftInputMode[1] was adjustResize or adjustPan and thought I might be able to help someone avoid similar confusion. The "Updating Applications for On-screen Input Methods" blog post[2] states that pan and scan is the default mode because it is the safest for existing applications and resize is often the preferred screen layout. But I believe it's a little more complicated than that.
If the outermost View in a layout is a ScrollView then it appears that the default is actually adjustResize. And this makes sense: if the View lives inside a ScrollView then it probably knows how to resize itself. I'm mostly basing this statement on trial and error, so it would be great if someone could confirm or correct me. Maybe this should be mentioned in the documentation at [1]? Or state that it is recommended that applications specify one or the other, rather than depending on the default?
I have an ExpandableListView (ELV) with the groups having LinearLayout. I have set the height of the group to some value (38dip in this case, equivalent to two lines of text). If the group heading is long and would take more than 2 lines, it is not shown properly in the ELV item - some part of the view gets scrolled. On the other hand, if I change android:layout_height to "wrap_content" in the LinearLayout, the groups always show all the lines. But the line widths are variable, i.e., short titles show up with only 1 line and long titles show up with 2, 3 or 4 lines. That looks ugly. I would like to implement the height to be something like max("38dip", "wrap_content"). Is there a way to do this?
Even programmatically, I do not seem to be getting the actual height of the group if I set android:layout_height to "wrap_content". Any suggestions there?
I have a Nexus 7 (got it for $25 because the previous owner dropped it and about 1/2" square area of the upper right side of the digitizer no longer responds to touch, aside from that it's 100% functional, and it's the 8GB model) and I also have a Netflix subscription which my Wife uses quite frequently, but because she's deaf the captions are an absolute must. Unfortunately with the Nexus 7's awesome 1280x800 display the default font size Netflix has chosen is pretty small, it's like a 20 point font or something as this screenshot shows:
I've been searching through the filesystem on this Nexus 7 and I haven't had much luck with locating something like a "build.prop" file for the Netflix app that might allow me to adjust the size of the font it uses by default. If there's a way to alter that and make it about twice as large as the default size I really would love to make that a reality.
Is it possible for my android application to dynamically adjust the no of column and no of row of my TableLayout based on orientation?
For example, when in landscape mode, the TableLayout is 3x2 and when
in portrait mode, the TableLayout is 2x3?

If I turn the "Ringer Volume" to vibrate, it still makes sounds when I get an email? Seems like there should be a quick and easy way to disable or enable all sounds from the device.
